Sparky is my favorite manager of all-time. As a little kid in the 70's, I started following baseball around the time that the Cincinnati Reds were winning back-to-back World Series titles. The Big Red Machine from the 70's is one of the greatest teams of all-time and I became a Reds fan back then, and still am today. Sparky Anderson managed that team as well as it could possibly be managed. And he handled a pitching staff better than nearly every manager who ever managed.

An old child memory I had of Sparky in Detroit was him with one leg perched up on the stairs gleaming in on the game, and then spitting on the ground when the camera focused in on him. lol always made me laugh when i was a kid, he was a true baseball man, a very good baseball man, rest in peace spark.
