@urdynamix1 I know exactly what you're talking about. People so dumb they shouldn't have been allowed to live in the first place call me every day. It usually goes something like this: my computer doesn't work.... I don't know how but somehow that is the IT crew's fault... ugh.

You know what I wanted to post some thing on my wall in FB and my twitter and my linked in but didn't due to lots of those business people in my connection. How come I spent 4 years in doing Computer Engineering, 2 years in doing masters and endless certifications and suddenly some guy pop up with hardly secondary education teaching me how important is the connectivity for their business and they they can loose millions if I din't restore the connection within next 15 minutes.
I am from bank IT 1 month back, same question pop out to me from an idiot trader. I told him, Wow, you made more than 100 millions for the rest of the 23 hrs 45 min when the computer is up and running. that is great!! now do you want me to concentrate on fixing your PC or waste another million listening to you how much you will lose.
LOL, same story at my work. But believe it or not sometimes we hear a good words of appreciation. And sometime (too rare for comfort) we receive a BONUS :)
Yeah, I am IT admin aswell and people only whine about us when something stops working (like it would not be their fault in half of cases) ... but remembering that they could not work without us? Never.. :)
I worked 19 years at Universal Studios Helpdesk and GE bought the company and the thanks we got was that they sent our jobs to INDIA! GE AND INDIA HELPLESS DESKS SUCK!
Sad, but true! You just can go on riding in to the sunset....
