I am soooooooooooooooooooooo proud of ALberta and to be an Edmontonian!!! Alberta is the only province in all of Canada that is rich enough to be and independent country:)
Calgary sucks, and Edmonton is even more hopeless. The only reason anyone would want to live anywhere in Alberta is because their family/friends are all here or the person grew up here and has some attachments. For no other reason should anyone suffer through the horrible winters and short uneventful summers without a beach in sight. I'm going back to the westcoast, Rain is no fun (it doesn't even rain all year, wussies) but the amount of stuff you can enjoy and see there far outweighs that.
probably some shithead from calgary posted this, like they have better weather than the true capital city of EDMONTON , at least we dont have to keep our winter tires on 10 mos out of the year like cowtown , or rain 12 mos out of the year like vancouver. BEST CITY IN THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD , BAR NONE. EDMONTON.
I'd like to Bitchslap the retards that first settled in this place. They must have done it in summer and were already building shit when winter came because any dipshit with half a brain wouldve said fuck this and left. I don't know why I live like a fuckin Eskimo. I should move to SoCal.
Winter of '09 here it got down to -70'C including wind chill one day. The only place colder that day was somewhere in Siberia. However, it's summer here right now and I am enjoying a +25'C day under the sun.
@Faustaao No remember in 08 or 09 When we hit -61 IT was the second clodest place on Earth , next to siberia at -64, But don't think it's that cold here it does get to +39 on soom summer days we live in a weird place
I like it when you throw hot coffee out the window of your car and it freezes in the air and falls to the ground as ice. Thats when you know its f*#$ing cold!
@showstopas I mean, you guys get 49 inches, as opposed to our 39. Yes, you do see more snow. It's not like you guys are that much worse than us though. The only reason I commented saying that, was because I see a ton of Canadian's commenting on videos, suggesting that Americans can't handle snow. Chicago and Minneapolis on average both have colder winters than multiple cities in Canada. Chicago also gets the most brutal wind chill factor.
@showstopas Winters are a tad longer there. Not by THAT much though. It's really more similar than you think. Like I said, Chicago and Minneapolis have it just as bad as most cities in Canada.
@showstopas Uhm... Doubtful. Statistics don't lie. I've spent a good deal of time during the winter in a few different parts of Canada. Not in Edmonton, but close enough. It's very similar to what I see every winter/spring.
@richig761 I have experienced winter in both countries along the border and honestly it was much worse in canada. so this is personal experience. just where these cities are located geographically is enough to tell how cold they are... no cold ever compared to the one experienced in nunavut though.
@showstopas Being farther away from the equator does not necessarily mean it's colder. Chicago is colder than many Canadian cities due to it's location, which literally is pushed out onto Lake Michigan. Which causes severely cold wind, and severe cold fronts that come down through the lake. I realize a lot of places in Canada get worse winters. I'm not disputing that. However, for the majority... There's no real difference.
Man I'm surprised how many people just can't handle the elements... It's all in the way you dress and prepare, I've been in -58 C without the windchill and I had no problems taking photos and going about what I was doing.. I agree with AMonsterUnderTheBed, Canadians are a strong and hardy people who have to endure some of the harshest conditions on the planet, so if you're a pussy, then stay the fawk out...
come up in the summer...it's absolutely beautiful. warm to hot weather beautiful river valley with tons of parks, trails and golf courses, and wicked thunderstorms!! :-p
ohhh come on... it's like that for like a day and everybody says it's the coldest place on earth. lol. come on it's like that all over northern Canada. btw...Northern Ontario guy here. its like that for few days here, few days there aronud here. WE'RE CANADIANS!!! we should be use to this man...lol
I remember those few days. I worked for 10 hours outside as a gas jockey. I couldn't feel past my forearms, but i was paid triple and got loads of tips. :D
@BlackOpsAFG thats why its called deadmonton Cashberta.............people are there just to workkk if you want to do sumtin fun goo to Toronto and Monteral .... i been there best 2 cities in canada
@LondonUnderground186 yeah right man go down to the river valley in the summer it's very nice. Much more so than the boring concrete downtown of a place like Toronto, where the waterfront is just basically grass with litter on it and a sidewalk for the majority of its length... Edmonton apparantly, I read this, more park area, based on the size of the city, than anywhere else in North America. There are nice ones. Lots of ravines you can walk or bike through.
I live in Finland right now and I have for almost 3 years. It can get realllllly cold here too, but we've had some really warm days lately. Before I moved to Finland I lived in both NYC and New Jersey and I thought THAT was cold...that's almost like spring for me now! HA, it's actually around 0 today and I was fine in a t-shirt and tank top(:
I really doubt Americans can take this weather. It is chilly in the US i agree, the wind is very violent but in Canada it is waaaaay colder. It gets to -30 to -35 sometimes and all kids still have to go to school.
I remember in elementary everybody had to go outside in -20 weather. It was still great. Really fun to play in the snow since its all piled up into a bank of 4feet.
Hahaha, I'm from Edmonton and I find when I go to other places and it's cold out, I deliberately act like I'm not cold at all. JUST so I can say "well, where I'm from it can get below -40!"
Bullshit, the coldest permanently inhabited place in the world is Oymyakon in Russia(big suprise ay), −67.7 °C (−90 °F)...While coldest place in the world is the Vostok station at Antarctica almost -90°C (-128°F or sumthing).
I remeber that weather. Now i live in B.C So no more of that. I remeber it being -40 and i was walking home and got locked out of my house for little while. i was 6 years old lol :P
Gosh, i never knew that it was so cold there, guess i woudnt be needing a fridge? lol, thanks for uploading ill be moving to Edmonton early this year, I'm sooo excited! hope to make new friends up there!
lol um edmonton is not the coldest place on earth you door nob aka ice land south pole and north pole and i live in edmonton and its not even cold here

edmonton isnt the coldest place on earth it was just the coldest place that day and haha i remember that day man it was so cold the snow in my backyard was like 5ft tall lol

Okay, bitches, I love Edmonton, this was just some really bad weather we had, and you fucking Americans think it is always -43 up here, fucking stupid Americans, so fuck off and be dipshits like the ones you are. Dumbass like 3 below me thinks stupid people live here, hey fag, you ever been here, no cause your too poor Yo afford it, you fucking gay homosexual fuck!
Why do all of you naysayers make it sound like we are the only major city that gets this cold? what about freekstorm calgary? toentialdownpourvancouver? or toronto withit's snowstorms so bad they have to call in the army, why do you think we are so healthy here in Edmonton. The best city in the best country in the world as our mayor Bill Smith used to say!!!
yea i always said the dumbest people on earth are in edmonton at least siberians are smart enough move to moscow or china and not live in the anus of the earth!!!
@Sarah01181225 excuse me but i dont like you naming my city for which i have lived in half of my life a shit city. the correct nickname, i have given, along with which my friends use is "the shit city." its "the shit" city. its a simple nickname. it is my true home, and its my dream in live to move back here and go to university in it (i am visiting right now.) i live in a shitty small town in nova scotia now. it felt like prison being there a year now. but, again, it is a 2 year old nickname.
actually they really meant, it was the coldest place on earth that day thank you very much. I'm from edmonton, and its not that bad like -20 to -15 is the average, but we do get below -30 trust me... but I love Canada : ) our summer's are hot, so I'm okay !
@dATfAKA81G Your watching the vid. And you should be thankful for Canada. You know why Canadians hate Americans? Google NAFTA. Whenever I seen an american on the street, I kick the shit out of them to make them leave.
I grew up there and I have to say that it isn't much colder than where I live now in the winters. In fact, Québec is worse because of all the humidity, it feels much colder than Edmonton did. I love Canada!!!!
haha, Yes Edmonton is cold. I was seriously shocked to "feel" this cold in Edmonton as I thought Canadian winter is like that of Toronto only. But clear sky with sunshine during winter time makes me endure the cold.
Sometimes the degree is minus 50 but I love being here.
meh... you come to Edmonton let alone Alberta you better be ready for the weather. 14 years and I can say I have seen some unpredictable weather in that time.
ha ha

it's really hot in the shit city right now
TlGBC 1 year ago
@TlGBC It seems like you are leaving a comment under a couple of videos related to Edmonton calling it 'shit city'.
I hope you don't mean it.
Everyone has a different opinion on places they live in, but there is no perfect place to live in this world anyway.
Sarah01181225 1 year ago
@Sarah01181225 excuse me but i dont like you naming my city for which i have lived in half of my life a shit city. the correct nickname, i have given, along with which my friends use is "the shit city." its "the shit" city. its a simple nickname. it is my true home, and its my dream in live to move back here and go to university in it (i am visiting right now.) i live in a shitty small town in nova scotia now. it felt like prison being there a year now. but, again, it is a 2 year old nickname.
TlGBC 1 year ago
@TlGBC Well, that's your own fault for not getting out of your basement. Any place is boring if you are.
CoffeeStained 1 year ago
actually they really meant, it was the coldest place on earth that day thank you very much. I'm from edmonton, and its not that bad like -20 to -15 is the average, but we do get below -30 trust me... but I love Canada : ) our summer's are hot, so I'm okay !

USA is a great place, as long as you never get sick, and you have to sell everything you own to pay for it.....

dATfAKA81G 1 year ago
@dATfAKA81G Your watching the vid. And you should be thankful for Canada. You know why Canadians hate Americans? Google NAFTA. Whenever I seen an american on the street, I kick the shit out of them to make them leave.

@dATfAKA81G lol clearly you give a fuck if you came on here.

I grew up there and I have to say that it isn't much colder than where I live now in the winters. In fact, Québec is worse because of all the humidity, it feels much colder than Edmonton did. I love Canada!!!!
stads24 1 year ago
Because Edmonton is a so boring place that they needed to catch people's eyes about that! Poor world!
LondonUnderground186 1 year ago
@LondonUnderground186 what are you talking about? edmonton is a lot of fun.
Y2INDIAN 1 year ago
haha, Yes Edmonton is cold. I was seriously shocked to "feel" this cold in Edmonton as I thought Canadian winter is like that of Toronto only. But clear sky with sunshine during winter time makes me endure the cold.
Sometimes the degree is minus 50 but I love being here.
