270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque from an engine displacing just 2.0 liters. Those figures make the Regal GS’s turbocharged four-cylinder the most power-dense engine ever certified by the SAE.
chevys are fwd with normal struts, and cadi is rwd. imho they need to extend hiperstrut to ALL regals, because buick is premium fwd, and offer awd on the gs, since that would mirror the A4's lineup. get the weight down at least 200 lb!! the insignia wagon has a Cd of 0.25, which is better than the volt! they should kill the 2.4, and add the 1.4T with BAS/hybrid.
my grandpas 2011 buick lesabre has 290 horsepower stock and costs less than then this car..... so its faster and costs lessss.... i dont see a point in this car
Does buick just like to play the role of a bitch?? I mean CMON.. bring back the grand national.. do somethin.. this is garbage, and you wonder why American auto sales are doing so bad..
@asdawdasfaasf How can that even be possible? 1) they are owned by the same people 2) it is simply a rebadged Opel. It would be like saying you stole your own idea
GM is taking the names of great cars and putting them on shitty looking compact sedans...wtf GM? What happened to the great cars that you used to make...and bring PONTIAC BACK NOW!!! That was the one brand that had some kick ass cars. GTO, G8, GXP, trans-am, firebird, etc...
@playbak Get the Cadillac ATS that's coming out in the summer. RWD with AWD option, rumored around 280 hp turbo I-4 with 320+ hp V6 option. It will be more competitive with the Germans. This is meant to satisfy the average guy on the freeway who wants a little power advantage and sport styling when he's passing someone on the freeway, not someone who's looking for a track day car.
looks good, but in typical gm style its not as powerful as the European Opal version...GM, why do you do that? why? Oh, and it sounds like shit too BTW!
@super00su But that would be cool, but a Buick with that kind of engine? I don't think so...500hp with AWD would just destroy the true American Supercar which is the Corvette.
@TheHm3 you know people told me that when i said that they should make a Hybrid Corvette and now the Germans are making the Porsche 918, Porsche is now going to be making the first real hybrid sports car. I wish people would get over "if you do that you will kill the Corvette" but you are people will not get over that idea so you will never see what i have described.
@super00su Look Porsche is known for its revolutionary sports cars. While Chevy is a regular car company with only one supercar which is the Corvette. And GM just went through a rough patch so let them cool down, give them time to bring out normal cars that people will buy such as this. Then they'll release a more unnecessary hybrid of a what is a great supercar itself. Honestly I believe GM should focus on making the C7 a more less aggressive car not a Corvette Hybrid.
@TheHm3 that was my point, I tell you what they need to forces on making the Chevy Cruze a sell-able product, I don't know what you drive but would you drive a Chevy Cruze, Chevy Cobalt, or Cavalier. I want to think "Mini Corvette" when i see the Chevy Cruze. I don't know what it would take to kill the Corolla, I have always want to see a Compact car with a low HP V8 200 hp, which you could get after market stage packet from the manufacturer. Make it light so you get like 22 CITY and 35 HW
@super00su I believe the Cruze can take on the Corolla and beat it quite easily, but the Malibu does not stand a chance against a Camery. While the Impala does not stand a chance against the Avalon. GM mostly relies on the Chevy brand, so I think they should make a better mid-size sedan (malibu) and upgrade the large sedan (Impala).
@TheHm3 I agree, I would say the best solution is keep the Front wheel driver revision of the, Malibu and Impala, for the regular people who drive in the snow and make RWD ZETA Malibu SS and Impala SS AKA Rebadge the Pontiac G8, it worked for Chrysler with the 300C and Dodge Charger same car different face, big power, real sport car. But i think people who buy the V6 may want FWD. A car with both RWD and FWD models. I always wanted GM to build the Cobalt SS on the on the Solstice platform.
@super00su No look, this is GM's solution, you are aware that the Chevy Camaro V6 has 312 horsepower correct? If they put that engine in the Malibu (or Impala) and make the car light as about 3,500 pounds. That would give off about 30 mpg (hwy), why 30 mpg hwy? Because at 3,750 pounds the Camaro V6 pulls up an amazing 29 mpg. For a car with over 300 horsepower i think 29 mpg is quite great. Anyway I think Chevy's Mid-size sedan should carry a Camaro engine. And they should bring Pontiac back.
@TheHm3 but maybe they will sell more cars! for those who don't like the corvette or the cadillac cts-v, there could be a buick. .... anyway, gm will surely kill one good vehicule again with some part missing. aiming diffenrent kind of buyers.
Price and awd... if these things are in place I will have one. If awd goes away so will me buying it. I have a cobalt SS already, I don't want the same car just 800lb heavier.
0-60 in 7 seconds isn't setting the world on fire at ALL, and cutting the AWD makes it about as exciting as a FWD Taurus. Lots and lots of understeer anf FWD fail.
At least the engine is tunable, but FWD is just a HUGE performance turn off.
My question is... this thing is going to cost the same as a Hyundai Genesis Sedan... yes it is much bigger.. but the performance stats are pretty close, plus the bigger size and about the same weight with IMHO a better suited engine. I think this should have been the regal instead of the GS.... No business of buick to put a REALLY small and lackluster engine going up against some very, very good performing cars.
This Regal is much nicer than any KIA, Its not only horse power that counts this baby has it all HP torgue the looks and the German handling

Why did GM castrate this car??? I was willing to settle for 255hp but no AWD! seriously? comon man :(
With only FWD I might as well get the Kia Optima SX with 274hp. Common GM you're making me buy a kia! 80
