Actuellement le public est mondial, donc je pense qu'une prononciation fidele a l'orginal conviendrait mas encore une fois l'interpretation est superbe. Je possede le disque.
It is a marvelous interpretation; the only thing that irritates me a little is the pronunciation of the Latin. I am French-speaking also but born in this country and studied Latin many years. However, as I said the music and the interpretation are divine.
@jvn041669 Comme vous l'avez dit, pour prononcer le latin "romain" correctement, il faut d'ores et déjà l'avoir étudié. Du reste, je vous renvoie à mon précédent message... J'ajoute pour étayer mes dires qu'encore à notre époque, si vous demandez à un francophone qui n'a pas eu accès à l'apprentissage du latin de prononcer "jesus" en latin, il vous répondra "jésusse", de même pour un anglophone qui vous répondra "tcheeseusse" (je force le trait bien entendu).
I love the music, have known if for a longtime; I am French-speaking too although born in the US. I studied French throughout schooling and studied 8 years in France. What I lament is that this singers who apparently are French pronounce the u the French way but Latin to my knowledge does not have the French pronunciation of the u.

En effet, la plupart des fidèles de l'héxagone de l'époque n'ayant pas eu accès à l'apprentissage du latin le chantaient, faute de quoi, avec la prononciation française, d'où l'"u".

Elle est conforme à l'original de Charpentier en tout cas puisque conforme à la prononciation française du latin à son époque.
