  • You know there is nothing wrong with sailing in big seas as long as you know what you are doing. These guys obviously do... You really have to think ten steps ahead with rigging, plotting, etc... good stuff

  • hi highvelocity123

thank u very much for your comments.

    wish u the best

  • Wow, great video!! this truly captures the essence of sailing. This just shows why people like you and me love the ocean. I'm only 16, but i practically grew up on boats, and this makes me feel right at home. Someday i hope to sail around the world, but until then i'll keep watching videos like this. Good Work!!!

  • thailand to greece. any worries about pirates?

A friend of a friend was killed by them in C. america last year. And his wife was practically kiiled but painfully survived the machete attack. doesn't seem worth it to me.

  • hi roygymp. sorry for the delay of the answer. yes we had that case in our mind.

we sailed something like minimum 50 miles from the shore and we changed course only near Aden.

we also saw 2 American sailing boats, that had big problems with pirates, gun fighting...

  • How Lucky! Such a beautiful experience and video too!

  • Hi anoonan27

    Thank 4 the comment.

But why u use the word sick?

U may want to read ''about this video'' informations.

  • Yasou George.

"Sick" is an idiom used by Amerian kids like rappers use "bad" to mean "good". It derives from the meaning of sick to mean "insane", "Crazy".

  • thats pretty sick right there

  • hi seamaster

thank u very much 4 the comment.

Is not a storm. This video is trying to have a poetic character and not a realistic one.

Please read the ''about this video''.

The title has no intent to full u...

  • Have I got to watch part 2 to see the storm?

  • Hi hefive,

Thank u very much 4 the comment.

    U r absolutely right.

Is not a storm. This video is trying to have a poetic character and not a realistic one.

Please read the ''about this video''.

  • if you think your in a storm you better sell the boat cap!

  • This is just plain beautiful, the storn doesn't seem that bad ,and I know nothing of sailing. It seems a bit violent but something you can sustain yourself in. A bit scary, but mostly seems exhilarating

  • Hi MOGLAFAR

Thank u very much 4 your comment.

    Wish u the best...

    GEO.

  • Hi Bateauvoile.

  • Nice boat of course. But nowhere near a storm. Force 5 MAX. White horses or Mutton as we say in france are barely there. Also looks like a residual swell from a previous blow. Nobody videos glass trinklets in a storm.

  • hi Barry

Thank u very much 4 your comment.

  • hi Keeptsmpl,

    thank u 4 the comment.

    Geo.

  • Beautiful, Beautiful,

    Best! mots

  • thank u very much mots137.

  • anything which requires shortening of sails

is a storm, the waves look big enough but have no real whitecaps. a catamaran is a very comfortable platform. this is real offshore high sea stuff, the same wind in the shelter of a lee might seem much tamer.

  • thank u very much valvetrom.

  • CHARMANT

  • thank u kouign29

  • Dear gkorg,

it is always a huge pleasure to see this video of the real sea...It remember me so many marvellous things.

I was thinking about technical questions, and i permit myself to ask you one: how does the wharram design are to windward compared to other examples of boats? I was thinking to that, because it is filmed in red sea!...

just if you have the time...

    Thank you,

    eric

  • hi Eric

the boat goes easily up to 45 of the apparent wind. the v shape of the hulls r helping a lot.

get in contact with Hanneke Boon of the Wharram's designs. she will answer everything.

    thanks again for the comment.

  • storm??? where??? pleasent day!!

  • Hi mundodejonas,

Thank u very much for the viewing.

I hope that u can get an answer if u read at the ''About This Video''

  • Nicely done, I like the choice of music/sounds which makes the experience seem mesmerizing rather than an "adrenaline rush." Sailing is beautiful even in heavy weather, not scary (necessarily), and you help to make it seem so - unlike many of the heavy weather videos here on youtube.

  • where is the storm?

  • Hey tzemplelg

Thank u very much for the viewing.

I hope that u can get an answer if u read at the ''About This Video''.

  • thai to gr...sounds challenging, got the picture now pal tks for responding

  • Wonderful!

  • thank u very much xAmandine

  • WOW THAT MOVIE OWNS LOVE IT!

  • thank u very much

  • Very nice! Conveys a mood of serenity & power at the same time.

  • thank u very mych markdartist

  • Relaxing and calm, yup.

  • windwire

thank u veru much 4 the comment

  • The sound was original? So you guys were playing music out there and you could hear the clinking even when you were outside? If you have a movie about a clinky boat charm, the title of your movie should be "poetic movie about clinky boat charm" and the description should be "This is a movie about a clinky boat charm in calm waters. The sound is not original, but please enjoy it." I may would have enjoyed the video if it was advertised honestly!

  • hi iplaysax.

there is no intention not to be honest.

the sound is selected parts from the original video, mixed with music during the editing.

    thanks for the comment.

  • I agree nice video but where the fucks the storm???

You can't be serious, I've been out in 11mtr swells and 90knot winds and that's in the north sea in scotland.

  • hi stevee

this is a poetic video and the word 'storm' is in this mood...

    sorry.

  • zzzZZZzzz....

  • The director's metaphoric and rythmic use of the miniature ship which he juxtaposes with images of the actual boat sailing through a storm create a safe and hypnotic atmosphere in what would otherwise feel like dangerous conditions. An accomplished piece of work.

  • thank u very much.

  • thank u so much for the comment.

  • I can only agree with the previous comments: lovely. Is this the Pahi 52 shown in the gallery on the Wharram website?

  • excellent video, ! showing the waves and how they can be, yet the subtle rattling of the ornament calms the hectic seas! Nicely done video!

  • dear odaysailor.

thank u very much for your comment.

that rattling ornament was the captain's charm.

    geo.

  • thank u very much odaysailor

  • VERY GOOD VIDEO

  • thanks fede
