  • This track is so jamming Janet Jackson used the beginning of this song on one of her hit sound tracks.

  • such a great, intense song.. one of my favourites ever. :)

  • I love the Manchild album and this is the PERFECT opener.

  • @aquarianrealm There is something very important we need to figure out.. There are people who have entire films uploaded here that are 2 hours or more long. How are they able to do that I wonder..There must be some kind of written agenda that you tube has that shows guidelines of some kind. It can't be just a random kind of thing can it? I'm saying this because of 18 minute eye of the hurricane..And some other stuff..

  • @lorioftheforest Could be they are Youtube partners and are thus allowed more latitude for length. The regular Joe, or Josette (lol) gets 15 minutes...

  • @lorioftheforest

    get a producer account

  • @jfmayer Is there such a thing?

  • are you kidding me,wah wah watson.tower of power horns.slick she iat

  • Seriously, if I ever open up a bar someday, it's gonna be called Herbie Hancock's Lounge. The jukebox is ONLY going to have Herbie Hancock's music in it. This is no fucking joke! I don't give a shit if I have to pay royalties for using the name.

  • @Sambuca6178 You realize what will happen if you do that? You will have to deal with people who will try to move into your bar and never leave..lol...But I am very good with names. People come to me for original nicknames when they are making profiles on public social networks..Consider this. Look at the name of this tune you commented on. I already know HANG UP YOUR HANG UPS is the perfect name for your bar. If you don't name it that I will be very disappointed..hehehe

  • strap everything down for this one. so funky, you might want to hold your nose. look at the cats that played on this record, baby, and, THOSE KEYS!!

  • @aquarianrealm I love that "EYE OF THE HURRICANE" thing that Lori mentions. That intro is so cool, how could anyone not like that? The first time I heard that I was only 16 and was in Belgium, and i kept thinking "damn that was the greatest"...lol And it is somewhere here on youtube, because I have heard it here before..But the sound quality wasn't as good as it should be, so I didn't favorite it like I should have. Bitchslaps himself for being a dumbass.

  • And I have to agree with Lori. it defies all logic that this is not recognized as such. I just saw a poll on google+ where they are saying the music of this time was so much better than what is out now. Yet Mr. Hancock was not on that poll. Instead it had guys like Bruce Springsteen, and some others I wont bother naming. I mean Springsteen was tone deaf wasn't he? And was really white America's response to Michael Jackson. Please don't get mad, I think that is the truth.

  • I had to come back because lorioftherforests enthusiasm is appearing all over my youtube stream on the homepage.and I thought I should put the kidding aside a moment. A far as I can tell, this was one of music's greatest period, because people were not afraid to be original, you had people who actually knew how to play, and they created sounds that were both sensational and spectacular. This particular tune is just one supreme example of what I am talking about. Its a thing of beauty.

  • @DoctorEeam I believe Lori found that version...check her page.

  • @aquarianrealm By far the 70s music was the best. Absolutely not contest.... never will be. Never can be.

  • @aquarianrealm I know I already commented on this but I had to come back and say this is an awesome posting sister. This is genuine greatness. This easily holds up to and surpasses anything else that's supposedly hot and new today. I've been looking high and low for the VSOP live double album. It had the greatest introduction in Eye of the Hurricane. Do you know what I am talking about?

  • @lorioftheforest Yes I know what you're talking about. "Introduction of Players/Eye of the Hurricane... too bad its 18+ minutes long or I'd post it.

  • man people just dont know about how much fun this shit is...get yourself a bass and funk baby!

  • @aquarianrealm Thank you baby!!! I love you!!!

  • Please forgive me if this sounds elitist or snobbery, because I really hate that...But have you guys considered what the implications are that say this has all of 8 comments while there are things whose names I'm not going to spoil this page by saying the names that have 1000's of comments? Speaking for myself it only serves to prove what I already think and that is that the world does not have its head screwed on properly..

  • @lorioftheforest speak on it!!! ^5

  • In all honesty I am very pleased and proud to be among the few souls who obviously have well endowed ears for greatness, because that's what this is. Greatness encapsulated in 7:29 minutes is not an easy thing to find.

  • Masterpiece

  • YESSSSSSSSSSS!! Herbie Hancock! The mother of all funk masters!!!

  • @DoctorEeam I know you are so much more articulate than that but your comments crack me up. LMAO!!

  • tight!

  • @blitzebill tight aint the word. Lawd, if this don't make your feet move call the undertaker cause you past dead.

  • @allennine1 AMEN Brother.lmao...

  • Shit son.

  • SICK!!!

  • @IRONMANHONDO87 yeah!!
