I completed Mario Kart DS single player first. It was tough for me, as I had not played Mario Kart since the N64 one. When I got the Wii one, I actually felt the game was a little bit slow, even on 150cc. I got gold on all the classes, and even the mirror mode all on the first try. Except for the mirror mode Star Cup. That one gave me fits, and I needed four tries to get gold. I guess playing MK:DS gives you pretty much all the skills you need to beat single player MK:Wii. Is the reverse true?

look people for me is better mk ds because you can play in internet with people around the earth it doesnt have good grachics but its very cool theres many tipes of games you can do like ballon battle , shine runners , time trials , vs , grand prix , missions you can even use 36 cars for each character . theres 31 circuits theres iven rainbow road . you can creat your own emblem and paste in karts . i recomend mk ds

Mario Kart Wii kinda breaks the Mario Kart line. Nice tracks, Nice characters, nice kart selection!

The Only reason I would buy a Nintendo DS it's for Pokemon Games. Otherwise I don't buy the DS. For the Wii, well it's better then the Move, not as much accurate but at least Has Mario and Good Party Games.

Man Mario Kart DS is BETTER. Not only because it's a convenient game but what they did with Wii pisses me off. In mk wii they extend the DS tracks and in a small way made them better, I mean y make the reintroduced DS tracks longer and a tiny bit better than the originals that makes no sense at all MKDS all the way!!

mario kart ds since it's cheaper, u can play it outside and is ideal for travelling. DS one is harder/ more challenging which makes it more fun. Wii has better graphics though but it's piss easy and i regret buying it.

the bad thing in mk wii is the items.in mk wii they replace snacke with wheelie which i think is better[kids at my school cant even do snacke].also mk wii over rules the mk ds characters.mk ds graphic are bad.they dont even show the legs on mar,lui,pea,dai,yos,d.k,bow,wa­r and wal.only 3 characters have feet.

Wii is better because: 12 racers instead of 8 playing. Better wifi matches (it hardly ever runs out of people as they kep joining your game) DS is better because: Snaking (if you know how to) Wii is worse because: Items are KINDA overpowered. With 12 CPUS its even harder. DS is worse because: Wifi often runs out of people and you have to search for more people again. On wifi people can snake and leave you in the dust. MKDS is much better, because the items are less over-powered

In MK Wii, the bananas are like shells in the DS version, and the wii shells are like DS blue shells. Everytime you get hit by an item or powerup in the wii version, your position plummets (my record is 1st to 12th), while in the DS version, even falling off the stage only knocks you down a few places.

@M3L33MA5T3R Seriously. And in mario kart wii, bumping a wall is too hazardous. My cousins and I were racing. I bumped a wall at a slight turn and my kart slowed down tremendously and my cousins passed me up.(1st to 3rd off of bumping a wall)

Mario kart wii may have better online. But mario kart ds has a great online also. Mario kart wii just isnt as good.

And mario kart ds, everyone has there own 4 special karts, then you can unlock all karts for everyone. Your favorite character is limited.

no offense but the ds version looks like a step ahead of n64, but not even close to gamecube. It could be the large screen because DS games are meant to be on much smaller screens. It has good reviews and it has good wifi but I think I'll be fine with my wii version.

I know how to snake, I used to on Wi-Fi all the time. The two karts I named are (arguably) the best snakers in the game, and the ones I most commonly saw (and used, when I played Wi-Fi and snaked alot), though I know most Karts have some level of snaking capacity.

That it may, but when things get hyper competitive, it gives people who play the game for FUN more than competition less of a chance to realize the fun of the game. That's why I stopped - it just got boring really quickly.

The inability to snake is actually what I LIKE about Mario Kart Wii. Wifi on the DS is full of snakers, leaving any players who DON'T drive the Egg 1 or Dry Bones' tank pretty much aimed to lose (unless item luck plays on their side.)

If your in last and your very impatient, that bridge that is the shortcut, if you go left before the fence (example at 1:04, he passes the fence) you will drop down and, hopefully, grab the item box before the ones before the bridge!!!
