  • i thought u were serious about u hated The Dark Knight...

but "as good as Batman and Robin movie" was 2 unbelievable 2 trick me

  • It's too bad you don't do silent reviews anymore there's a ton of movies that have come out over the past few years that i'd love to know your opinion on.

  • @HelloFade2 I might get back into it.

  • @McGoiter Yeah, but it'd be kind of ironic to make a silent review about The King's Speech.

  • okay sir, i am thoroughly convinced that you are brilliant.

  • Damn, we need more of these brock

  • Got this a while back on blu-ray as a present. Makes the movie even better

  • i loved this film! and i can trust chuckles on this one, i must have seen dark knight over 25 times, interesting fact: jack nicholson is the only actor alive that has played a live action joker.

  • god people are waaaay to enthusiastic about this movie, it was alright but not nearly as sweet as everyone seems to think....nothing will ever be better than the Original Tim Burton Batman, and Heath Ledger was no Jack Nicholson . . . on a side note have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

  • did you use ulead video editor pro 7 with this one.

  • mmmmyesss.

  • If he made a third movie, everyone will bitch about how the dark knight was a million times better. there is no way that wouldnt happen. first of all, the joker obviously. greatest batman villain, maybe even greatest comic villain. anyone else wouldn't go well as an antagonist with the people that watched the dark knight.

  • I didn't like Maggie that much to be homest. She didn't do a good job of it. At all. But then again I don't think Katie did a very good job either.

  • Agreed on the Danny Elfman score from the Tim Burton movies. This was brilliant.

  • Oh, you and your damsels.

  • i swear maggie gyellhall's face was melting

  • The first time I saw this movie I was like "wow, that was pretty good" but for the second time it bored me to death!!!!!!!! Heath Ledger made that movie though.

  • I really hope Chris Nolan signs on for a third film as well. If he doesn't, then it'll be fine as long as they don't pick Michael Bay or an even worse director.

I'm really looking forward more to another Batman film than another Chris Nolan film. But I don't want the series to degenerate to a comedy like last time.

As far as villains go, I really want to see more revamps of older villains like Catwoman and the Riddler.

  • Ironically one of my friends considers Batman & Robin the best Batman movie, and she's not being sarcastic.

I did enjoy the villains' performances, but other than that it pretty much sucked.

  • @tolchok89

But you know what the worst part of batman and robin is?

  • Haha. Batman and Robin. (:

  • I can follow up your question about IMDB...

I likely will trust a site that ranks the Jonas Brothers concert movie as 1 on the worst list.

  • I think the fact that the Jonas Brothers concert movie is number 1 in the worst list is further proof that the iMDB can't be trusted. The majority of the 1 votes were probably from people who didn't even see the movie and who just rate it low because they happen to dislike the Jonas Brothers' music.

I admit it's not the best idea for a movie in theaters (especially 3-D), but it's far from the worst. Bands put concerts on DVD all the time. The Jonas Brothers movie just took is a step further.

  • It's good to know that Heath Ledger's death was not in vain.

  • When you said Batman and Robin, you were referring to the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger and George Clooney, right?

God, was that ever stupid. I mean seriously, Batnipples? And does Mr. Freeze need to spout all those stupid ice puns? I'm surprised he doesn't say "Ice to see you".

On the other hand, it was a funny movie, and I enjoyed the Smashing Pumpkins song in promotion.

  • I prefer "Kiss of a Rose" in Batman Forever.

  • I like it too.

In fact, the songs were the only real gems from the Schumacher films.

  • In retrospect, it seems Two-Face got a Queer Eye makeover in Batman Forever.

Ooh, that face is beyond damage. Why dont we draw attention away with a nice suit, so you dont seem so threatening. Oh, and we should ditch that whole angry thing, just be a bit more maniacal

Plus, his referral to himself in the plural is pretty confusing. For example Were serving the very same acid that made us the men we are today. What? Were his henchmen disfigured too?

    Aaron Eckhart FTW

  • So Brock, you said you can see Johnny Depp as the Riddler.

For some reason, I'm thinking a cross between Willy Wonka and Sweeney Todd.

  • I enjoyed Danny Elfman's score from the first two movies, and the current score can't hold a candle to that.

I also wish this film's soundtrack had some cool songs in similar vein to "Kiss From a Rose" or "The End is the Beginning is the End".

Can't wait for a third film to come out. Hopefully Chris Nolan will direct again. Maybe he'll do the Riddler some damn justice.

  • Right. Next time I'm in a JB Hi Fi, I will purchase the two-disc special edition. No additional clothing or masks are required.

I'm going to buy the DVD. Are you?

  • Dude, don't buy the two disk "special edition." There's really nothing on there. If you really want to own the film, just get the regular one disk, trust me. They'll probably wait until next Christmas to release the "super duper deluxe mega edition" which will have a few more features...maybe. They do this all the time, and who's this "they" I keep speaking of? Nobody knows!

  • Well, a few lousy extras are better than none at all.

  • Are you saying the movie isn't worth purchasing on DVD? Because this video gave you the impression that you loved it...

  • No, I said the "special edition" isn't worth buying, just buy the regular edition.

  • I like extras as much as you do. I think the extras on the special edition would be about all they'll have gotten.

I know how you feel about the lack of extras on Flight of the Conchords, because I have a few DVD's sans extras as well. Like both seasons of the Young Ones.

  • Well, they're sure not gonna come up with an extended edition like Lord of the Rings. Chris Nolan keeps in as much as he can, and only leaves out stuff like bloopers. I read it in a JB magazine.

  • I guess I love the movie much more than you do. When I reviewed it, I didn't even jokingly criticise it.

However, I agree, Katie Holmes/Maggie Gyllenhaal's character kinda sucked, and I think Danny Elfman's score was better.

Other than that I loved the movie, I think it's the best superhero movie, the best Batman movie and the best movie of 2008. I could live without it on DVD, but life would be more dull.

  • You're right. I just bought the DVD, and extras are kinda lackluster. We could have had a mini doco on the Joker, but then again, he's dead.

Maybe there'll be another one with better extras, but I'm not holding my breath.

  • Haha! I want the motorcycle too! XD Awesome review!

  • I actually watched the first Batman movie with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson recently.

I thought it could do more with a little more action and a lot less pointless dialogue. Plus the Joker wasn't really threatening compared with Heath Ledger. Funny at times, but not really threatening.

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHugfsyufusefytfvyjseyfyjews T'was an awesome film ^^

  • I heard news that there may be a third, however, from what I've heard, I'm not looking forward to it.

They're reportedly casting either Eddie Murphy or Eddie Cibrian may be the Riddler. I have no idea who the latter actor is, but Eddie Murphy? No! What, are we trying to create another Joel Schumacher-esque shit storm? He'll probably make Jim Carrey look good!

Also, they're considering Shia LeBouf (AKA "Guy from Even Stevens") as Robin, and Rachael Weisz as Catwoman.

  • The movie came out on DVD on my birthday. Unfortunately, I didn't get it. If I don't get it for Christmas, I will buy it myself. I got da money.

  • i'd give it an A+++++

  • Meh. They made the Joker look like a serial killer. And the Original Joker Bleached his whole body. He didnt put make-up on.

I still say the First Batman Movie is the best.

  • So I just saw this movie today and it was completely fucking amazing!!! I agree with EVERYTHING "Chuckles" said! Heath Ledger was an amazimg Joker and Max's impersonation is spot fucking on. If a movie can make me say Holy Shit out loud then its fucking good. haha

    well Love ya Brock

    <3 Jackie

  • i loved this film so much.

its incredible, when i came out of the cinema, i was speachless. all i could say was OMFG IT WAS THE BEST FILM EVER YOU HAVE TO SEE IT!

  • lol!

I agree with HelloFade2. I'd like to see a silet review of Twilight as well.

  • I believe you should do a silent movie review of "Twilight", mainly because I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on this whole Twilight craze that's been going on as of late.

  • I second this. I thought the movie was terrible and you're funniest when you're ragging on a movie, not praising it.

  • Now we know why they call him Chuckles McFlairnigan after watching this video.

  • i am sorry but the film was merely above average in my opinion

i thought it was entertaining and the SFX were incredible, but if that's what made a good movie then Eragon would be the third highest-grossing movie of alltime

slander me as you like, but i would give Dark Knight a solid B, maybe B-

  • I give it an A, maybe an A+, but maybe that's because I'm a Bat-fan, and was impressed with the entire movie, especially Heath's take on the Joker.

The Tim Burton movies were good too, but not Joel Schumacher's.

  • Oh yeah, heath did an amazing job, posthumous Oscar worthy. If he were alive directors would be all over him.

  • There is no "best movie of all time". It is subjective.

  • I used to know this asshole who said every movie sucked except Shawshank Redemption. He hated every other movie because they weren't based in reality.

  • I think it's safe to say that Rachel Dawes sucks, period.

Otherwise, Chris Nolan resurrected what Tim Burton created and Joel Schumacher destroyed. Made it a lot better too. The Dark Knight is definitely the best Batman movie ever (but I'm sure there are other great films overall)

He could improve on Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy, but after Batman and Robin, who couldn't?

  • I absoulutley loved this movie. The only thing I couldn't get used to was the vocie Batman was using. It was so freaking rough. Otherwise this movie rocked hard.

  • I know I have said stuff about the last Batman movies before this one, but I criticised Joel Schumacher more.

I have pretty much nothing but nice things to say about Tim Burton, he's a great director. I hope his take on Alice in Wonderland is a good movie. It's gonna have Matt Lucas from Little Britain (sweet).

  • lol that was a very random video but was very entertaining lo aniway i have to agee with almost evrythin u sed on it the dark knight is probably best batman movie but not best movie of all time

  • apprently The Dark Knight is the second highest grossing film of all time

    Titanic is the highest

  • Ha, I didn't like Maggie Gyllenhaal either XD Her eyes are kind weird looking too...and she can't act =/

  • While you're here, could you give us your thoughts on the previous Batman movies?

Here's my countdown of "Greatest Batman movies".

    7. Batman and Robin

    6. Batman Forever

    5. Batman Returns

    4. Batman (1989)

    3. Batman (1966)

    2. Batman Begins

    1. The Dark Knight

NOTE: I can't really comment on Tim Burton's movies, since I haven't seen much of them. I kinda like the 60's version. It impressed me as a kid, but unlike Joel Schumacher's, it still does today.

  • Just watched the Tim Burton films. They're both great, as are some of his other movies. Plus that Killers video was great too, despite being a rip-off of that horrible Robbie Williams video.

  • Probably the greatest movie I've seen this year. I know I'm buying the DVD. That is, if I don't get it as a birthday/Christmas present.

I hope they have loads of cool extras. Perhaps some behind the scenes on the villains.

  • I thought Aaron Eckhart was the best Two-Face. Tommy Lee Jones made the character look all evil (sadistic, repeatedly flips his coin until it lands in his favour), but this version is good because he is genuinely dependent on his coin toss.

Let's hope they do the Riddler justice in the next movie.

  • Tommy Lee Jones sucked as Two-Face, but I really liked Aaron Eckhart as him. Johnny Depp is rumored to be playing The Riddler in the third one, I can see it.

  • Exactly what I just said.

You know what's ironic? Johnny Depp is rumored to play the Riddler, and he tends to be cast in all of Tim Burton's movies. Tim Burton, of course, did the first two Batman movies.

  • lmao @christopher nolan wipes his butt with 1,000 dollar bills. it was an awesome movie though.

  • It just sucks that Dark Knight couldn't quite make it to number 1 on the top grossing movies of all time list. Titanic is still number 1 and personally I am sick of it. I mean Titanic is a good movie but it's been number 1 for over 10 years,it's high time something different took the top spot.

  • then take you ass to go see a 100 million times

  • the dark knight is the best movie ever

  • this couldve beaten it. it wasnt released at the PERFECT time like titanic

  • I still stick to the First Batman Movie.

    Best Joker in that movie

  • Some people like Tim Burton, some people like Joel Schumacher. And then there's people like me and McGoiter who love the Chris Nolan series that hopefully should continue for a considerable number of years.

  • People like Joel Schumacher?

  • Believe it or not, yes. I have two friends who say they like the one with Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy.

  • i loved dark knight too!!! you should do a review of star wars clone wars!! please!!

  • Sorry I should have checked your videos before commenting

  • i saw it three times, what does that tell ya?

  • your a nerd

  • First one was better. ;)

  • I agree Danny Elfman is in a class of his own when it comes to unique music. Still, Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard did a nice job as far as I'm concerned! Great Work!

  • I liked the songs from Batman Forever, I think Seal and U2 did a nice job. The Smashing Pumpkins' song was probably the only good aspect of Batman and Robin.

  • Brock is obsessed over baby geniuses 2.

  • Light Chortle, Chuckles?

    ........I love it.

Very good review, agreed with everything you said, the action, the screenplay, the Tom Cruise making Kate Holmes need deer eyes, the Joker, the wanting of that &#^$^( motorcycle, everything.

Brilliance, thy name is Brock Baker. ;)

  • I saw it yesterday. It scared the crap outta me, but I frickin' loved it!

  • Can you do one of these for Pineapple Express or Tropic Thunder? They were both okay. I'd give them B's.

  • You mean Two-Face?

Yeah i think he is :(

I'm gutted that the Joker can't be played by Heath Ledger any more :'(

  • I did my best not to post a spoiler in my question but I guess nobody noticed :D

  • RoFl sorry:P

  • Darn Chuckles tricks me again. Curses.

    Off topic:

Is the character that falls at the end of the film really dead? I hoped he would appear in the next movie. Crap.

  • Yea, two face only got to live for like a day in the movie lol

  • So just out of curiosity have you attempted to do a Heath Ledger Joker impersonation? If not you should.

  • It was a great movie! And I want that motorcycle too! Baa-zing!! lol

  • Who wouldn't want that Motorcycle?

    XD

  • *light chortle* This is my fave review of yours along with WALL-E.

  • Baaa-zing! ROFL :D

  • Iiiii did it aaaAAAAAlll by myseeEEEEEeeelff

  • I want that @#$%^% moter cycle lol!

  • wow i love you, subscribed!

  • Ive already seen Batman Dark Knight Twice in my bedroom and it is exceptional twice has good has Batman Begins and i thought that was good. has two one comment that the matrix is the best movie ever made, it was for 1999.

  • The Dark Knight was a great movie! good video! R.I.P Heath

  • wow, if you were serious at first i would have to find where you live and slap you, but i agree, it was a great great movie

  • haha

  • Ms. Gyllenhall looks like she has dog DNA.

  • I agree with the remark about Maggie Gyllenhaal, I honestly didn't even think was that attractive at all.

  • *she was

my bad, that comment has gential herpes

  • It's been said there's a strong possibility that The Dark Knight could beat Titanic as the number 1 grossing movie of all time. I certainly hope so, i mean Titanic is a good movie, but it's been number 1 for over 10 years, it's time for something else to take the top spot.

  • sorry i didt watch all the vid just the first part sorry

  • you retard it was awsome

  • Haha, when did I say it wasn't?

  • When you jokingly claimed that you...

    a) hated it

    b) claimed it was not as good as Batman and Robin

    to oiip1234

you retard he was being sarcastic

  • I agree I Think it was the best batman film! And Heath Ledger Made a brilliant joker very demented and scary compared to ye old Jack one, he scared me when I was a kid lol But I would see that again!!!! I cant wait till its out on dvd to finish my collection, and I hope there is a game, the last one was deadly!

  • im gonna see it in 4 hours exactly

  • I was in this movie

  • really now

  • i was live in chicago...wer they filmed it...and i watched the bank robbery scene at the beggining of the movie

  • Nicely done sir...you are a tru artist!

  • Still haven't seen it, I think I'll see it this week, wonder if the theatre sells Heath bars???

  • wtf dude

  • lol u look like a super mario bro ahha well cool

waht video editor do you use ?

    wb if u can

  • check his faq

  • Well, I certainly thought it was a good movie. Much better than the one with Jack Nicholson. It is hard NOT to be campy when your character is a villainous clown, but Heath Ledger did a great job.

RIP Heath. Our thoughts are with you.

  • I wonder if Chris Nolan had originally planned on killing off the Rachel Dawes character or if he decided to kill her after he realized that she's a rather unpopular character (at least that's what i gather from what i hear and read) I also wonder if she's really dead i mean we never see her body after the explosion. I suppose all questions will be answered in the 3rd movie.

  • nice rip on katie holmes, haha. that made me chuckle.

amazing review. i still have yet to see the dark knight. i should be punished. this i know.

  • good review, def. agree with you on Maggie Gylenhall, she was the one minor flaw in an otherwise perfect movie. I like your idea for doing movie reviews, it's awesome!

  • good review.funny to.

  • I just saw the dark Knight about 2 hours ago and I absolutely loved it!

in my opinion one of the best movies made in around 5 or more years.

The funny thing is, I knew (along with many other people i suppose) that Harvey Dent would become TWO FACE as soon as he pulled out that coin for the first time.

    great movie- 5 Stars.

and another cool performance by Chuckles, 5 Stars for him Too.

    Heck! FIVE STARS ALL ROUND!

  • i think the matrix is all time best movie ever or at least smartest..

if yu relly understood it yu can say it was genius.!. thts just me tho..

  • but did you notice Heath Ledger's Make Up Was AWFUL?

  • It was supposed to be

  • That was on purpose, it was meant to provide a look and general feel of insanity and realism...because if someone really painted their face like that, and then went running around and blowing things up while doing it...they would sweat it off and such....i thought it was a nice touch...

  • dark knight was awesome!!!

  • nice, hehe

  • A good review I just really dont like the silent movies that your doing

  • Good review Brock, I agree with what you have to say. I just saw the movie yesterday and I was completely blwon away by it, and Heath Ledger's role as the Joker, fucking awesome. R.I.P. Heath man.

  • Lol, great video as usual! I haven't seen it yet, but I definitely want to. :)

  • Great review, I loved the movie too.

    This is hilarious.

  • why did maggie look soo old not 1 for celeb gossio but come on

  • Yeah, she did look really old. I bet she ages like Robin Williams from the movie "Jack"

  • he had a medical drug overdose, he didn't kill himself

  • I think the reason why Christopher Nolan's movies are so good is because he refuses to use CGI unless it is otherwise impossible.

Why can't Spielberg, Lucas and Michael Bay take a leaf from his book?

  • HAHAHA-- oh my god- Chuckles is my hero. This is utterly hilarious. Please keep reviewing movies!!!! These are so origional and lovable. :)

  • this is hilarious, but really, the movei was brilliant..the joker kinda stole the spotlight..

  • yeah, that movie was fucking amazing.

  • I agree the dark knight was the best superhero movie I seen...heath as the joker actually scared me I loved it!!! Oscar Nominee for sure!!!

  • Who doesn't want that motorcycle!?

  • This movie really was great but I'm still trying to determine if its better than Wall-E for movie of the year. Right now I have them tied.

  • Hey at the end did you mean the (*&()^(*&!! I want the Lamborghini got smash.

  • very good and funy hehehehehe

    well done

  • (spoiler) i liked the part when the joker did that magic trick with the pencil.

  • I liked that too.

  • I totally agree. The pencil scene was my favorite part in the whole movie.

  • the whole movie??????????

  • I'd say so. I mean, the whole movie was cool, but I don't need giant explosions and crazy action sequences to have a satisfying movie experience. I just like the more subtle things. Or maybe it was because it was still early in the movie and the pencil scene was the audience's first real taste of the Joker. I mean, he's just being his crazy self and then WHAM! Out of the blue! But the pencil's gone. :) Whitty, disturbing, and it came out of no where! I certianly didn't see it comming.

  • Yah I agree with you,Baby Geniuses 2 is great!!!

  • these are really retarded . thanks for nothing

  • If you don't like them, then don't watch them, it's that easy.

  • And it's an honor to be unsubscribed by you. :)

  • cough.

    haha

    lol

    i loved the dark night

  • WELL SAID. I saw the midnight screening of the movie and couldn't sleep..ledger was beyond brilliant....Maggie, Oh Maggie..I kind of wished Katie Holmes would show up half way through and bore her to a slow death...it wasn't any different from her performance.

AND THAT BIKE!!! YES! I agree!!!!!!!!

    p.s. Batman's voice.

    What in the hell?

  • And what, per chance, do damsels smell like?

  • it was a good movie, just got back from seeing it

  • Hey Batman & Robin was a wonderful movie! :)

  • Right, and Hannah Montana is the funniest TV show ever.

  • I wouldn't consider Batman & Robin the worst film of all time, but I think only gay guys or women would like the eye candy. Plus, it's good for small children and/or fans of the 60's TV series.

  • yeah i thought it was weird that this movie tops the shawshank redemption. i saw both dark knight and shawshank pretty recently and its hard to compare their awesomeness to each other because theyre totally different kinds of movies. jeez how long was morgan freeman in jail in that movie? like, 50 years?? :0

  • Nice, lol.

  • I just watched it yesterday and I totally agree!! It was amazing. The only thing I want clarification on is, why did Joker keep changing his story on how he got his scars...?

But what an awesome movie man! It was worth the Migraine lol

  • thats was one reason why i liked it cause hte joker is like that in the comics insane he pretty much can't remember how he became the joker just that his origin and past life sorta changes when he sees fit

  • ohhhh....so thats why. Thanks. That movie was friggin awesome though, huh? May the brilliant Heath and his Joker acting rest in peace.

  • Honestly my favorite part of the Dark Knight was the Joker's magic trick lol. Heath was hilarious and psychotic in the movie. RIP

  • ....................lol?

  • yes?

  • wtf lol, oh and a burn with tom cruise lol
