  • nice of these gentlemen to lend their skills to comedy like this, hilarious!!

  • Anybody have any footage of Steve Cattle in action, what about Sandie Hopkins? Two more stars from the glory days- Liverpool was the hub for great Shotokan!

  • I had this in video but its worn out now :( I'd love to have it on DVD, is there anywhere/anyway how to?

  • Brings a tear to the eye , these guy's were the cream when it all began, for me.

  • @hazor777 What I will say and by no means Am I agreeing or back peddling.Say for instance..It is totally unessercery to train and teach today in the very manner a Samurai Warrior was so taught. There is no calling for deadly arts we have the military. If this is what you want join the forces. Its that simple. The Arts we practice and study today,Has indeed had most of what we know as deadly techniques taken out otherwise we would have some kind of organized chaos on the streets as we

  • I will repeat what I stated:so.Karate came from Okinawa.Shotokan is in fact if I remember right is two differing styles of karate.Either Im wrong or you need to go back and do some homework.

  • @jason41760 : THIS is a perfect example of what is wrong with your country and why it's in the "state" it is in. The Islamic psychos that have practically taken over your country , have done so predicated on the expectation of this very attitude. It is weakness and cowardly. Violence is NEVER thwarted with sensibilities and reasoning, it is ended with a higher, stronger more overwhelmingly powerful counter force/violence. Consider that "ol chap".....

  • @hazor777 pmsl....You are a complete idiot...Your now way off the mark.

And I opt to leave it right here rather than get into debates about...I dont even know where your now taking this debate. And do not refer to me as 'Ol Chap'

And please do not contact me again.Your a prat

  • @hazor777 You are in america.....Your the one being over ruled by the arab states lol

  • @jason41760 :classic denial response

  • The Best !

  • The Best!!

  • more un realistic "real world" bullshit applications........this "art" is so whored out, 99% of you people have no clue

  • @hazor777

by your remark it is obvious to anyone training in any martial art that it is you who have no clue. All the senseis in this video are more than deserving of your respect not derision. take a look in the mirror my friend.

  • @metranil1 : actually , I woke up to the TRUTH that Japanese "Karate" is designed on sport. Okinawan Karate is true karate and the practioner does not lose ability (i.e worn out hips/joints) past a certain age - it's an art that builds on itself in effect. These elementary "bunkai" are a very dangerous place to put one's trust-obviously you're one of the brainwashed masses, so nothing I say will make any difference, but TRUTH will set you free

  • @hazor777

    Blah Blah Blah.What.

Actually as a beginner the stances and techniques can seem straining and like its wearing on the joints...As you progress these stances and techniques become less so.Karate came from Okinawa.Shotokan is in fact if I remember right is two differing styles of karate.Either Im wrong or you need to go back and do some homework

  • @jason41760 : Ive done it. You're still under the ILLUSION you're practicing real"karate". You're training in a mild, sports oriented form of the original art. Sure Funakoshi said that, but Funakoshi was quite disappointed with the way that the Japanese students took karate, as well as with his own son:Yoshitaka. And dont try to "educate" me on stances, techniques etc..-Im way ahead of you.Yea, Im Dan rank-so what? I tested for Nishiyama. So what.No disrespect to Nishiyama, but Shotoakan CONT.>>

  • @jason41760: CONT.>> is NOT Okinawan "KARATE".The techniques and applications from true Okinawan Karate are much more logical, deadly & "user friendly" to one's natural gross body movements (the natural reflex the body makes under fight or flight syndrome) The Japanese changed Funakoshi's original intenet -it's their culture, they always adopt and add to make it "theirs" (another fact your ignorant of,obviously). I NEVER said Shotokan was inept-the technique is strong-but there has been- CONT>>

  • @jason41760 : a supression of true Karate from the JKA -I honestly doubt that many of their premiere sensei's know the difference. Are you going to tell me the bunkai applications so frequently seen (YT,demos etc.) are truly logical "defense"? Shouldn't karate be an effective art for practically any age to learn & apply effectively? You're going to argue with me about "character" and stances , yet I doubt you've never been challenged outside of standard kumite. Shotokan is NOT superior- CONT>>

  • @jason41760 : CONT>> to Okinawan (true) Karate -but many dont know this b/c the primal, true Okinawan Karate is only practiced by very few.YOu watch (the little there are) video of Funakoshi perfroming kata, and YOU tell me (based on the faux training Shotokan has) about his stances.I guarantee you're first thought would be to consider them "wrong", based on what you (& I for that matter) have been taught.

  • @hazor777 By what you stated was offensive and insulting to Sensei Sherry,Sensei Brennan,Sensei,ONeil,And Sensei Poynton...Aswell as to insult and offend every member of the K.U.G.B Shotokan Members.I dont care for how deadly the Art is I study..I develop myself I develop the charector.I dont need to be deadly..I have no cause to be.I just know Shotokan has served me well and has been very effective when in need.I have even fought against six men...And came away unscaved.Thats all I need..

  • @jason41760 : Really? If ANYONE is "offended" by anything Ive said, then you obviously have no character.

  • @metranil1 :insults aside- do not misunderstand me : I believe Shotokan Karate (learned correctly) develops strong technique,no doubt. This is good for self defense to a point - but when one is facing a "do or die" situation, sport karate training will FAIL you -esp. against a well trained killer/fighter.Kata bunkai is meant to kill, nothing short of that -therefore,competition training is IRRELEVANT when learning such a style - understand?

  • @hazor777 And you are what Dan. Karate is not about asserting your ability to fight,Karate is not about correcting others,It is about developing your own mind.Quote:

"The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants." ~ Gichin Funakoshi..

    SEEK PERFECTION OF CHARACTER

    BE FAITHFUL

    ENDEAVOUR

    RESPECT OTHERS..Bear this in mind.

  • This is NOT a video of Andy Sherry in action - it is a video of a demo and anyone - martial artist or otherwise can see it is all out of distance and shows - in slow motion - him blocking punches etc that have already missed. It does not do him justice or show his skills at all and should have been previewed and re filmed to really show his skills - the MMA guys must laugh - I can see why! ... BUT that is a shame cos it is not reflective of his skills IMHO
