There is wisdom behind this. God understands human nature, as men/women are attracted to each other & there is temptation. Most Muslims don't really know Jesus and his teachings. What Jesus says is in many points like praying, treating others (especially enemies) and so on the opposite of what Quran says.
As a muslim you can fight and kill your enemies (as Muhammad did), as a christian you are told to love them and pray for them, to not fight them with violence but to try to convince them with words, as Jesus did. As a christian you are told to just love everybody - if you do something to somebody else, god sees it as you would do it to HIM. For praying, in short...Jesus told us to not make many words in that "ritualic", "always the same" way as muslims do 5 times a day to firm times.
As a muslim praying is there to not get punished by Allah for not doing it 5 times a day and to be seen by him as good muslims. Read Matthew 6, 5-6 that's very different. Praying for us is a way to communicate to someone who loves us and every other human.
Regarding Matthew 6:5-6 that is referring to those Jewish people who prayed just to show off... and in their heart they do not believe.

There is wisdom behind this. God understands human nature, as men/women are attracted to each other & there is temptation. Muslims do not respect Jesus Christ. What is a greater sign of respect? Taking on a person's name, or believing what that person said? Jesus Christ asserted that He was God. There's no two ways about it. Either you believe it or don't. If you don't, don't pretend that you do. If you do, then you must keep His commandments.

That indicates that either God has multiple sons which raises the question why Jesus is favorable than the rest of them or that all humans are brothers of Jesus and God is everyone's creator (that's what Muslims believe).

Both religion have beautiful teachings but if you want to argue weather if the Bible is what Jesus exactly said that's hard to proof since the current Bible we have is written by human beings and not God directly. The same goes for the Koran.If you're Christian, it's easy to quote the Bible is the truth and Muslims also will quote their book where there is a whole chapter called "Mary"

These prophets were verified not only by their words and deeds but were confirmed by other prophets. Jesus Christ for example whose birth, ministry and even death was foretold by prophets hundreds of years before it came to pass. As a muslim you can fight and kill your enemies (as Muhammad did), as a christian you are told to love them and pray for them, to not fight them with violence but to try to convince them with words, as Jesus did. As a christian you are told to just love everybody - if you do something to somebody else, god sees it as you would do it to HIM. For praying, in short...Jesus told us to not make many words in that "ritualic", "always the same" way as muslims do 5 times a day to firm times.

Regarding Matthew 6:5-6 that is referring to those Jewish people who prayed just to show off... and in their heart they do not believe.
In fact the Quran also condemns such people... I cant remember the verse of chapter but it says something on the lines to woe unto those who are heedless of their prayers who do it to show off and then it goes on to say who these people are... the people who dont feed the poor, help the orphans etc I think.

In Islam the rememberance of God is the best deed, Muslims can remember God all the time but at times we can be distracted and praying at fixed times is just establishing a time for God alone... to thank Him, show our Love for Him so we dont stray.

The thing is you believe you get punished by not praying often enough, it's a duty, not an option...that's not like communicating with somebody who loves you. Where does the quran tell God loves you anyways? And I don't see what praying towards Jerusalem has to do with praying towards a rock in Mecca that was a holy place for pagan-gods before Muhammad. Anyways, Jesus doesn't tell us to pray in a certain direction.
