The artist life of the director was dead since he accepted filming the commerical movies...

It ain't his own fault,he is also just like the doctor of this movie who was arrested.He have to compromise...maybe give up...

The same thing of the movie is still going on...

Finally! I found it! I watched this movie in 1998 and had been looking for it for years. I didn't even remember its title. I rarely watch any movies (less than once a year). I hope the dvd is still available for sale.

I watched this movie on tv. My eyes were glued to the screen, and when that happens, it's a good sign that I'm watching a fantastic movie.

when I read the book the pictures I had in mind of Fugui wasn't a bald looking idiot at all. but anyways the book is amazing and heart touching, I recommend reading the book before watching the movie, it will tell a lot more of the story

I am still going to buy the DVD... I've had an old VCR tape of it I recorded when it was on tv here in the uk back in the 90s. Just think the sound and picture quality are much better on your DVD version.
