  • sony bravia engine 3 is better

  • SHARP stands for: shit arse panel

  • after only 3 weeks my new AQUOS LC40LE830X displayed a blue vertical line from top to bottom, still waiting for a new fucking panel after a month. SHARP = FUCKING SHIT

  • watching any and all television is a pure illusion...so what is discussed here?

  • You need a CCD/CMOS sensor with RGBY, then Quattron would make sense. If the signal source is still RGB, what you see on the Quattron is just an electronic trick -- they forced the screen to display something that is not in the original signal source. But what I claimed is just nonsense at all -- you need only RGB in terms of optics.

  • i have the normal aquos and this quattron shit bullcrap i can see yellow good with my setup no bullcrap needed

  • @capeverdoswa

    Actually, you can't.

All you can see is the illusion of yellow being generated for your brain to interpret it as yellow. All TV's can produce this illusion, but it's not as natural or convincing as actually seeing the colour in pure form.

  • @KadrickNinness yeah but i got 700E something im not gonna dish a 1000 bucks when i just got mine a year :D

  • @KadrickNinness

Coolios. I'm not telling anyone they need a QUATTRON. I certainly wouldn't recommend someone update an AQUOS only on account of the Yellow pixel. I'm merely illustrating that from a cold skeptical standpoint and a lot of experience and analysis, I've appreciated a truth in the claims made by SHARP.

It's not until I've gotten used to the look on one of the other LEDs that I'll go switch to the QUATTRON and marvel.

  • Optics is a different concept from printing. You need only RGB. Period.

  • how can i see the yellow in my RGB computer screen?

  • @Monossombis

Yeah, very good response. It's just a marketing idea....If you can see the "extra yellow", you must see a doctor.

  • @orthant

Well I have four LEDs and one Plasma. I've gone to exhaustive lengths doing comparatives. Side by side, I find the colour improvement to be dramatic. It's not as simple as "extra" yellow. The hue has more vibrancy about it, but I also note the improvement to colour bleeding, since the conflicting blues aren't used for yellow in the gamut.

    Make me an appointment.

  • @Monossombis

Do I need to point out that the effect is simulated for viewing on a conventional screen?

  • The extra yellow pixel seems to be missing. Someone on YouTube looked at the display under high magnification with the display running and there were no yellow pixels? Someone want to explain?

  • @Cobalt135 the yellow pixel is only used when a blue or yellow object is shown.

  • @Cobalt135

I can explain. It's a sensitive psychological condition called stupid. Stupid is a fairly common disorder, with symptoms including bullshit, fallacy and misinformation.

I've pressed my eye against the screen to observe the pixel array under test signals. I assure you, there is a yellow pixel. And not only that, the pixel array is decidedly unique compared to all other makers.

  • @SharpEurope, I always wondered, is there still PAL signal in HD video? Since the amount of pixels are the same? I know the images/second are different too, but... I still want to know :) I just bought a 52LE925UN and I absolutely love it!

  • can anyone tell me how to hook up a playstion3 to the sharp quattron

  • @osbornhs You have trouble? HDMI cable does the job no?

  • @osbornhs HDMI is the way to go always for PS3 - but if you play Sing Star I recommend HDMI to your AMP first - then HDMI out to the Quattron otherwise you experience lag. (providing your Amp has HDMI throughput

It's just in that type of game and is related to the sound setup rather than the TV itself.
