Motherboard is built for macs, i forgot to include, they have to be certified to work by apple. Power supply, i dont give a damn. check yourself, speakers are changeable (might need to do some cutting), OS well duh. I can run windows and linux. Screen, if its built-in then no, other than that yes.
also (I Forgot) can you install a 7.1 Speaker sound system? Access the BIOS without any native programs? Overclock the CPU? make multiple HDD partitions? boot from USB (I just want to know this.) get a Water cooling system.

the answers to all of these questions further depends on the type of mac. for an IMac the answer is probably yes but it would very hard(i don't own a Mac yet so i can't give a definite yes/no). as for any Mac build in a tower like the pro or a hakintosh most of the answers are probably yes.

As for removable media, I've seen probably more variety on Mac than PC - standards anywhere from AIT to removable hard disk cartridges etc., many more of which I can't even identify by name. And of course Iomego Zip has been the medium of choice in the graphics field. Apple even makes special stylized bezels for internal installation.
Iomega Zip? You mean those removable drives that work on everything? I mean, if it's USB powered (which Iomega's products are) then it's compatible with a PC. Firewire is about the only transfer that is less than common for any PC brand.

I totally agree. I like the hierarchical arrangement of Windows/Linux over the Applications folder & linear Dock of X. And beyond the initial warm fuzzies, I've never really grooved on the slippery, wobbly feel of Aqua. In that respect, I liked 9 better, and the other 2 OSes; they just seem more utilitarian, and I like that. But for the same reason I do like the 3x flash when you click a menu item; it's reassuring. Blessedly, the original Aqua "pinstriping" seems to have gone by the wayside.
and i can run 8 project 64 emulators open with all running games , 30 VLC video players all playing movies,m and have 2 modern games running in the background and a tonne of internet browsers, ALL them applications r of all different partys and still all work with eachother on windows , so what ?

I always tell people not to get Apple products for many of the reasons you mentioned, especially price. I admit, iPods a cool as hell, but for the same price, you can get a video MP3 player that has a built in mic and FM tuner. Motherboard is built for macs, i forgot to include, they have to be certified to work by apple. Power supply, i dont give a damn. check yourself, speakers are changeable (might need to do some cutting), OS well duh. I can run windows and linux. Screen, if its built-in then no, other than that yes.

also (I Forgot) can you install a 7.1 Speaker sound system? Access the BIOS without any native programs? Overclock the CPU? make multiple HDD partitions? boot from USB (I just want to know this.) get a Water cooling system.
have multiple CD/DVD Drives (internal). Use PC Hardware (E.G. Graphics Card, Sound card ETC.) Update the BIOS (not sure if a mac can) if you answered no to one of these questons then YOU FAILED HARDER THAN ANY MACTARD I'VE EVER SEEN!

the answers to all of these questions further depends on the type of mac. for an IMac the answer is probably yes but it would very hard(i don't own a Mac yet so i can't give a definite yes/no). as for any Mac build in a tower like the pro or a hakintosh most of the answers are probably yes.

If you need all that (bluray ,floppy, etc) you are just not at the right door with mac. Mac does not offer alot of customizable stuff. You must stick with a custom built windows pc or a prebuilt from a good manufactuterer. I have nothing against Mac but all against the fanboys that think their products are superior. so macs suck because you can't upgrade when such a small percent of people even do that whether mac or pc user. most people using a computer couldn't tell a processor from a hard drive. the most you can say from this point is that they're missing a product from their lineup which would be a cheaper tower. so external hardware is never a problem finding drivers. theres in no way a shortage of programs. if most games arent on mac how does that decrease the quality of mac.

I've upgraded the ram, hard drive, logic board(Cpu, Graphics Card, Mother board Ect.) optical drive, and screen on my 2006 macbook, , and if I wanted to I could have my case changed, but I love the plastic! when I bought it, it had a 55GB hd, 1.83GHz Cpu, 1GB ram, and a CDR disc drive, now I have a 500Gb hd, 2.4 GHz cpu, 4GB ram, a Blue Ray compatible drive, a 1080p screen, so I can't upgrade?

Yes... the lack of a Blu-ray drive, inability to insert new types of drives, and other interchangeable components besides RAM and hard drives is complete bullshit.[/sarcasm] Try again, despite the age of floppy drives the individual components of a computer being interchangeable affords much greater control over the machine than provided for sealed computers. An inability (to change parts in this case) is always an inability just like PC's inability to run OSX and OSX to have Java 6 update 10.

Full interchangeability means more to go wrong. One of PC's innate challenges is that it tries to be everything. While that flexibility is GREAT for some applications, there is a lot to be said for SIMPLICITY - fully developing a limited range of configs and knowing they'll WORK.
Compare Cadillac to Honda, for instance. Sure, the Caddy boasts more features, but the simple Honda actually works. (Consumer Reports)

My file server is a rack-mounted P-II at a whopping 266 MHz and has been running the same RedHat for about 6 years without incident (reset every few months for good measure). I am currently piecing together a Fedora server to run CCTV. Next up: MythTV. :D

Also, excuse my pragmatism but full interchangeability means less dependency on a brand or company. Simplicity is only effective for more limited options where unlimited configurations have unlimited possibilities.
That Cadillac to Honda analogy doesn't completely float. It treats all computers as being used for the same tasks, but from your background you know a modeling computer needs more oomph than an OEM.

By the way, Apple has become much more mainstream than in days of old, what with VGA, USB, Intel etc. What's more, you can connect any mouse or camera, for instance, and iPhoto (or iMovie) handles it natively and seamlessly without installing squat. So it's not like a monopoly or anything.

Oops, not sure what you meant about not being able to insert new types of drives. Actually, you can use pretty much any IDE drive, or install a SCSI controller. As for removable media, I've seen probably more variety on Mac than PC - standards anywhere from AIT to removable hard disk cartridges etc., many more of which I can't even identify by name. And of course Iomego Zip has been the medium of choice in the graphics field. Apple even makes special stylized bezels for internal installation.

Iomega Zip? You mean those removable drives that work on everything? I mean, if it's USB powered (which Iomega's products are) then it's compatible with a PC. Firewire is about the only transfer that is less than common for any PC brand.
Anyway, Blu-ray surpassing HD isn't saying a whole lot, but it's certainly becoming a more prevalent media source. Macs are great for simple use, but computer potential can't be reduced to checking your e-mail and graphics given individual users.

Heh, my complaint is the operating system. I just didn't like the way it looked or functioned. Then again, I haven't extensively tried Leopard, just Tiger. My issues begin and end with compatibility due to software and development platforms that just aren't completely compatible with Macs.

I totally agree. I like the hierarchical arrangement of Windows/Linux over the Applications folder & linear Dock of X. And beyond the initial warm fuzzies, I've never really grooved on the slippery, wobbly feel of Aqua. In that respect, I liked 9 better, and the other 2 OSes; they just seem more utilitarian, and I like that. But for the same reason I do like the 3x flash when you click a menu item; it's reassuring. Blessedly, the original Aqua "pinstriping" seems to have gone by the wayside.

dude this guy is the biggest retard. he dosnt know crap. i can plug just about anything into my mac and yes it just works. oh and the whole you cant customize a mac thing is true. but then again the hardware last for ever becouse its well built and anyone can upgrade the ram and HD on macs becouse its so easy. oh and the mac users pay a premium thing is bull. comparative PCs will cost the same as a mac. and fancy light up computers look exstrealy stupid. lite up crap is still crap

Windows xp was really buggy at first also, but it is the best operating system so far, but I haven't had ANY problems with my vista laptop.

I always tell people not to get Apple products for many of the reasons you mentioned, especially price. I admit, iPods a cool as hell, but for the same price, you can get a video MP3 player that has a built in mic and FM tuner. Not to mention the drag and drop capabilities of file managment, something iPod fails in. BTW, the fact that you have to use iTunes is BS. iTunes is a failure.

I have a PC mouse which needed absolutely no drivers to install, and it's a microsoft mouse!! Also my PC printer works and scanner and router, my mac can connect to my PCs through the network easily but my PCs never seem to find my mac or any of the other PCs on the network, they all come and go!
