  • man, the dual rectal frier is awesome.

  • Tell me man, these amps are the shit, 'bout how much do they cost im lookin' to buy one.

  • @Kornfan345

Bout $1700 brand new, $1000-$1400 on ebay.

  • someone likes james hetfield... :)

  • Sounds awesome man! sick riff, dont listen to the negative comments on here its the camera that doesnt pick up the true sound, rock on man!

  • awesome riffage man 5*s

  • I've played the Dual Rec out, and own a TSL. Love 'em both, but the Dual Rec is much, MUCH more touch sensitive, and it bites beautifully. I'd recommend it over my TSL. However, it would be a difficult choice between the Dual Rec and the Marshall DSL. Depends on which sound you like better.

  • awesome except your beard, shave it off and you will rock so much harder

  • the tone is sweet.

    want this amp

  • Yea I use the same set up. Les Paul & a Mesa Dual Rec. but with a Boss E.Q. to boost the mids. Its sounds good enough. But I get a crazy feed back when I crank it up, that's something I'm worried about.

  • fuck man , so \@%)#@%#@ tone!

    niceee

  • nice man.i have had my dual rec for 3 years.i just changed out all my tubes,im looking for some new settings,i like what you have going what are the clock settings you use on your amp in the gain dept?

  • mesa sounds like wanked shit

  • Can I get a good "Gothenburg" guitar tone through a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier?

  • Has the Mark IV the same gain as the rectifier ? (sorry for bad english )

  • I love this amp! But with EMG81 pickups its sounds much better!

  • I owned this a long with the tri rec and i can tell you that the Mark IV is better then either

  • hey what's up? do you know how much energy it takes out of the ac outlet? thks bro

  • Buy mesa if you wanna be 1st

  • Nice one, brother. I've got the same exact amp.

The older Dual, with two channels.

I personally think they are better than the newer Triple rectifiers... not by that much.. but I played my buddies and prefer mine... with ESP LTD F-250 or the ESP LTD MH-400

Either way, supreme choice in amp my friend.

  • Thats a badass sound

  • Nice video, and setup. I played basicly the same setup at GC (The Mesa amp and a Gibson Les Paul) just the other day with my girlfirend watching. It was fun : D

  • thanks man they fuckingraet amps and guitars man

  • That's some great tone you got going there.

  • i think its awesome how you mix rythem and lead metal styles. i want this amp so bad but i don't have enough to get it :(

  • thanks man rock on brother

  • @MLplayer78 Rectifier's are great amps, but it is really hard to find the sweet spots. I have had a triple rec for about 2 years now and I'm still messing around with my settings once every couple weeks. Another problem is they have lots of gain, but not a whole lot of sustain, hard to get a good lead tone.

  • How would you say a Mesa dual rectifiers gain is compared to a Blue voodoo's? Is there more or less.

  • far more gain...thicker...and better tone

  • hey man i havent heard the blue voodoo yet id say the dual rec would have more balls but for sure

  • @Blacksabbith102 I have both amps. The Mesa has a much beefier mid range and a more modern sounding crunch. The Voodoo has a smoother distortion like a late 80's Marshall. Soloing on the Voodoo is much less demanding on the fingers because single notes require less finger pressure and pick attack. But for live sound, the Mesa really cuts though the mix and the extra effort is well worth it! Both amps are great but the Mesa is the all around better amp.

  • what does a compression pedal do ?

  • @guitarexpert13

I think its supposed to make all the notes the same volume

  • oh cool........im trying to find a type of pedal that would switch from clean to distortion but i dont know which one to get? what pedal would u recommend me

  • @guitarexpert13

What kind of amp? You usually want amp distortion if you have a good amp. If not then shoot for an overdrive/distortion pedal. also depends what kind of gain you want. Blues style? Rock? Metal?

  • oh i have a line 6 spider jam but i dont want a distortion pedal i want a pedal that can switch modes like in the song one by metallica? it goes from clean to heavy? u know what i mean

  • that would be a channel selection switch...it should be available for that spider...check line 6s online store

  • i know but theres so many of them

  • @425V8 it also cleans the sound up a bit....

  • I just ordered this amp today! : D : D ! along with an Esp eclipse I ctm

  • dude ... fucking nice!

  • @skatallica76

    Damn mr. money bags

  • haha ;) i got a huge refond from a medical damage to make it simple :D

  • Ohhhh understandable.

  • nice riffing bro

  • Nice riffs. All you need now is video editing software to get rid of the part of the video where you're setting up. Check my video out of you get the chance........

  • throw a compression pedal on that and itll sound muuuuch better

  • Pretty noisy. In my opinion too much gain. Put some volume behind it and it'll sound awesome though! This amp begs to be cranked

  • To me this amp begs to play something other than metal.

  • Hahaha so true!

  • @bigassmatic ..i agree when ur shredding you dont have time to hear the real tone

  • @bigassmatic

it can, it can really do alot

  • @bigassmatic Death metal! :D

  • do noise gates such as boss ns-2's rob some tone??

  • it shouldnt if its in its proper in the signal chain

  • Get an ISP decimator

  • I tried one last week at the guitar shop, and yeah your sustain is a bit stolen with the NS-2, but they didn't have an other brand of noise gate such as the MXR smartgate. But people say the MXR is better...

  • a lot, get the ISP decimator, thats a little bit better, but i have the NS-2, it robs a lot

  • kickass riff!

  • would anyone know how a ts-9 would work with a dual rectifier? I tried using one on my Marshall MG100 HDFX which has an amazing sound, but the tubescreamer colored the tone. I've been looking to upgrade to a mesa (either dual or triple rectifier) But in the mean time how do you think the ZW-44 would sound with my MG?

  • you dont need anything wit the dual rec whatsoever aside from maybe a delay pedal or chorus flange ive been gigging with mine heavy for 2 years an it absolutly screams just CRANK it up! side note if ur playin at home or in ur bedroom dont get the dual rec jus stick wit the marshall mg

  • So did someone just tell you "Get a mesa, they are amazing" ?? Clearly you have no clue about tone if you recommend a MG. Or you just have the lowest standards possible.

  • no i own a dual rectifier an i run it straight and i sounds very good tweaked the right way and dude learn to fucking read before saying rude stupid shit i recomended the mg as a sarcastic remark on if you cant handle the volume of a 100 watt tube amp cus u just sit around in ur bedroom get a solid state amp i could have said anything you ass get a fender frontman get a line 6 piece of shit get the marshall mg get that crappy ibanez amp crate amp

  • You're not very convincing man...I still think you were serious about recommending a mg. In your mind you were probably thinking "The overdrive is crushing!".

  • yup your right i didnt recomend the mg because the person i commented to said "would anyone know how a ts-9 would work with a dual rectifier? I tried using one on my Marshall MG100 HDFX which has an amazing sound" "I've been looking to upgrade to a mesa (either dual or triple rectifier)" in which i said the dual rec doesnt need an extra pedals to sound good just push the power section hard but if volume is an issue if your a bedroom jammer stick wit the mg u OWN ALREADY damn

  • yeah dude nekkid your a faggot

  • You need to raise the volume up enough to crank the power tubes - which will kill you in a small studio- if you want to boost a drive channel.

    Don't do that.

  • iu crank my amp and i use the boost to tighten up the bass...but im in drop b..so i need tighter bass response.

  • Cool, Nice and punchy! It lacks the bite and chug though. Try boosting it w/ a TubeScreamer or an Sd-1. Set the OD pedal's LEVEL-max, TONE- MAX, DRIVE-0 or almost 0. It will tighten your distortion. Just trying to help a brother out.. peace

  • Boost a Dual Rectifier ? O.o

  • It will give your drive/dist more definition and tightness for those machine-gun palm mute riffs.

Notice on my provided settings for the TS/OD has its Drive/Gain on 0. This is because you dont want to add more gain cuz obviously the amp has allot of it already.Tighten up your tone and give it more bite by boosting your clean tone w/ the TS/OD. It will give your pickups more heat. Same principle in boosting Dist/OD pedals, your booster must be set after your main Drive/Dist pedal. Just try it =)

  • of course. who doesn't? everyone clean boosts a rectifier. maxon od808, ts9, Fulltone OCD will give you a nice tight bass response instead of it's natural flub. A lot of people also can't fully CRANK these amps... remember that.

  • Hot plate

  • that sucks tone like a bitch doesn't it not?

  • To be honest, i dont know. But the reason why people use them is becasue they like the sound. But Im sure it sucks sone tone yes. I like the suggestion about boosting the amp with overdrive better. AMp with master volume + overdrive, and your safe.

  • Yeah, practically everyone does that.

  • hey what about a zakk wylde overdrive would that work??

  • yeah. Im pretty sure a MXR Zakk Wylde overdrive can do the job. The ZW-44 has an output, tone and gain knob ryt? So its pretty much your basic standard OD. Just set the output - full, tone -1oclock or full, and drive-0 or 1. The only OD pedal that i won't recommend for boosting is a Bad Monkey.

  • Just a reminder, if your boosting a high gain drive channel in your amp. Don't set your amp's gain at full. You wont need the extra gain because your tone is already boosted. That means, you can get your drive to squeel and scream at low levels of gain w/out the unwanted amp feedback.

  • songs like metallica... i boosted my dual rect to a ibanez ts9 and songs like a new soongs of canibal corpse...

  • question ! is that true that the new model of the dual recto the 3 channel is not as good as the old 2 channel one ? if yes, why ? and how ? :$

  • well its not that its not as good. Some people like the tone of the two channel amps more. and some like the three channel more. Best thing to do is try both and decide for yourself.

  • Hell yes. This is the kind of demo I wanted to see. I'm looking for the elusive Rammstein distortion, and from what it looks like, this will open that portal up for me. Kickass jamming, nice amp and guitar too.

  • thanks man rock on

  • yeah man the older ones made them with 2 channels pretty rare to find one they are awesome amps man

  • isn't that a single rectifier?

  • No, the older deul recto's only had 2 channels.

  • 5 out of 5 stars for you.

  • hey do you what are the settings for that amp. Its sounds really good

  • thanks man my settings are

    bold setting

    presence 9 oclock

    bass 12 oclock

    mid 10.30 oclock

    treble 1 oclock

    gain 3 oclock

playing straight through the amp on modern gain red cahannel

hope this helps ya out man

  • you should put this comment in your description, some more people might ask.. cool, I'm going to try these on mine and check out the actual sound because I'm sure it sounds better than the video is showing :-)

  • I'm dreaming abaut this amp... You're a lucker man... :)

  • yeah fuck man it s got some balls man.Sometimes i think of sellin it cause im not gigging much any more but then i think fuck no

  • sounds good dude

  • thanks man
