im in canada and we are allowed knives in my school district. as long as its 2 inches or under, one sided, has drop point, and needs two hands to open its good.
honestly i see no problem with knives in school i think there should be a length limit of 2 inches or less but i live in the country tho soooo...... but anyway ive had people come at me with pens and pencils and scissors or any thing to fuck me up and then stabbed me in my hip and i beat the shit out of him and knocked him out i almost would rather have people come at me with a knife just so its a clean cut not all crooked and infected cuz its a crudely made weapon just my opinion and reason
Well a knife is a knife it dose'nt matter how long it is. If it"s sharp, it can be used to kill. Yes i bet you can get more blood with a pair of plastic scissors, but if the knife is in the right hands a lot can happen.
Listen I am. Around fat age and ido carry a knife and a mutiltool but I listen to the law that says do not carry in school and it is only legal to carry a knife 4 inches or less (the knife icarry is te kershaw skyline around 3 inches ) and you can harm somebody badly with. Any. Blade 1 inch. Or 8 feet
Handcuffs? So stupid! What's he gonna do if they don't? Beat up a couple of grown men? Not really? And 1 inch? I'm thinking if more ways to hurt some one with plastic saftey scissors!
Even though the school was wrong , they just eliminated what they felt was a threat to other children. I think the parents are at fault here. If he doesnt know better than to take a knife to school, than it should not be within his reach.
this is just an example of how the government (in this case, local) has become a fascist entity. the parents of this student should consider home schooling him; my spouse has done this for years. this sort of oppression isn't likely to go away any time soon, as you probably know. contact the Home School Legal Defense organization. Just so no to the monopolistic government education system, which, by the way, does a crappy job of educating.
The most important things by FAR that school has taught me is that people in authority are generally ignorant, hateful and obsessed with illogical rules and punishing people for breaking them(like in every country in the world except for Somalia). It taught me that life isn't fair and that you don't have to put up with most of the bullshit cause it doesn't even matter in the end. I figured out the world was at about 8 years old but a lot of people never realise it.
I got my first knife when i was 6. I'm 14 and carry a cold steel recon 1 with me in town. I've gotten like 30 knives since my first one. I would NEVER use them unless in a defense situation. I even own three guns, swords, machetes, and a leatherman. Someone at my school brought a 12" bowie knife and all thaat happened was it got taken up, and my school is one of the top 10 in my state. This shit is INSANE on this video.
I just turned 12 today and the biggest knife i own is like 41/2 inches and i dont carry it. I carry a minimum of 3 1/2inch and i hardly carry it and ive never have tooken one to school.
One question were does he live cause a friend of mine brought a 5 inch knife to our school and there were no cops and he only got suspended for 3 days
idk man thats dumb, but people should know that anyone can kill anyone with anything, depending on if you know how. so the kids just screwed. tell him to move to Europe, much better there, smarter people.
that a bun ch of crap they cant arrest him for having a inch pocket knife its legal to carry a pocket knife under 5in and thats fuckin retarded suspended for 2 yr i accidently brought a knife to school and it fell out of my backpack and they saw it and i only got 5 days of in school supension and im a good kid too

This sounds like a windup from the demented braindead cretins that run the school. I have carred a knife since is was 7 which got me into alot of trouble at school but I prefered to be expelled than stop carrying it as it was such a useful tool. My primary self defence weapon in school was actually a screwdriver which I could deploy much quicker that the knife and had more stabbing capability. This saved my life once when I was being strangled by an older boy.
there is nothing wrong with carrying a pocketknife wtf i carry one every so often and im only 13 idt they should have arrested him and suspended him for a little 1 inch
FWIW, there was a time in the U.S. when every young boy looked forward to the day when he got his first pocket knife and in many cases it was at younger than 12 years old. 'Course that was when parents took the time to teach those same boys what to do and what not to do with those knives.
Somewhere along the way people developed a fear of anything sharp, especially in the hands of a boy.
at my school two kids brought a bunch of bb guns a couple knives and one revolver. they're 12... the consequences? 3 day suspension and one kid there parents took him out of school for 3/4 of a quarter because he had run away 2 other times. this kid brings a tiny ass maybe 1 inch pocket knife to school and gets suspended for 2 years. two kids at my school had weed put in their backpacks and got expelled they didnt buy it, the druggies bought it and told on them, no cuffs for them wtf. same age
Yes you have some right thoughts, but he knew better and knew the consequences of his actions. I was never told to not take a blade 2 school as i own several, and i was not an idiot like this kid. I have a hard time beliving the blade was just 1 INCH long i doubt it. I only have a problem with it becuase my freind was attacked and attemted to be murdered by a mental kid with a knife. I have personally seen kids with knives and it makes me nervious "what if i tee these frikers off"

Though i agree that cuffing him and charging him with a felony is ridiculous (in England it wouldn't even be possible) I can still understand that it doesn't matter how big the knife is, schools have a no knives policy so a knife is a knife regardless of size etc. But either way it could have been handled better.
if a kid wanted to attack a school, they god damn would. There are only about half a MILLION things they could pay more attention to. But hell, a zero-tolerance policy is a zero-policy. Ffs
Arresting a 10 year old kid instead of simply giving them detention only makes it more likely for the kid to become corrupt and turn on society because being arrested and being looked at as a killer at that age is traumatizing. If the kid was not going to hurt anyone then there is no reason to get men with guns to come and handle the situation all the school needed to do was take the knife away and call his parents.
There are areas throughout the schools in this country which are totaly fucked up. At my old high school the teachers wouldn't even let students have family pictures up on the comp screens because their mothers were in the pics and it is against school policies to have pictures of girls on your comp. If a 10 year old brings a mini knife like that too school then all you need to do is slap him on the wrist and give him a day or 2 of detention.
im a 16 year old girl and im goin to get a pocket knife and pepperspray because my older sister was physically assulted and i was verbally assulted by a man and i dont care if this gets me expelled from school besides i hate that school anyways n i need to be protected
Liberals fuck everything up, i used to go hunting before and after school when i was kid and always had a rifle in my truck and a small folder in my pocket, (this was the late eighties not the fifties mind you) then columbine happened and the tree hugging liberal hippies shit themselves and know the no one can have nothing because of it, i blame the parents of these children for not knowing what is going on in there childs head, the only thing this school did was scar a child for life,
i think that was wrong them doing that i would be pissed at the school for doing that to them why couldent they give them a waring or something one time i forgot i had a knife in my backpack in high school and i tottaly forgot about it and i did not tell any one but one of my friends have seen it and they said nothing and i did not get in to trouble thank god i was praying all day long that i would knot get busted but any way thats all
Even though its only 1" long pocket knife, It can do harm if you know how to use it. If you get it in the right place you can cut some ones spinal cord, you can cut some ones wind pipe. But they did go a little over the top, they should of just taking it away from him and just gave him detention
@MrMotleyfan yea one day i went to my friends house and brought a bayonet to show him. i left it in m backpack and accidentaly brought it to school. OMG IT WAS FRIGGIN SCARY.
Stupid thing! I from 3-rd class. To each manual training lesson I take with me a normal size (2 - 4 inches long) pocketknife (my first) to cut out of wood ship models and other things from wood till 9 class. And nobody take me to police! In my country anybody can by a knife in a shop! Just today Latvian police start to control shops. Last two months before buying a knife you must show a passport that you are older than 18! 1-inch: Principle can take away a knife and call to school a parents!
I'm surprised by some comments and the video response I watched. I know this video is 4 years old and all so you probably don't care much anymore. I do realize that schools have to keep weapons out of school and all. But just because something is a knife doesn't make it a weapon. I have quite a few knives (for whittling) that are knives but couldn't be used to give more than a few stitches at most. A felony is a real big deal. I think the kid should have gotten a detention and a talk.
I'm 12 and I took a 3 inch pocket knife to school and stabbed a kid in the stomach because wus a buster and he called me a scrap so we were in the bathroom and I took out my pocket knife and stabbed him and nothin happend
listen i wen tto school with a baton i bought on the weekend, im a good kid just got this thing and wanted to show my friends, same thing happened only 5 day suspension. suck cuz im not even a bad kid.
This is PATHETIC! TOTALY OVER REACTED! They should do that...that kid should of said something! and hey...WTF? everyone else has one but nobody else gets in trouble...lol i'm in sixth grade....i think i'm bffs with this kid...if i'm right here is how his life went:
4th grade:ok
5th grade: Brings matches to school and takes a letter opener agenst a kid's neck and says "i'm gonna kill you!"
6th grade: Principle changes: Gets BACK INTO SCHOOL and went into the main office and ASSUATS A TEACHER!
thats why kids end up shooting up school cause ppl dnt nip it in the bud and let them know its wrong. The good kids are the ones who get picked on and shoot up the schools not the bads ones.the good ones who get picked on and go crazy.so they might have did it the wrong way but a knife is a knife and 12 isnt that young.
Man thats bull Crap. My grandpa used t tell me stories of him and his freinds taking their 22's to school, and were he went their was a room to hang their coats, and their was a rule that if you had a gun you had to put it in the coat room, and it was no big deal, and when school let out, my grandpa and his friends go and shoot rabits to bring back to their family to eat, but you have to keep in mind this was in the late 1930's and in a small texas town with the population of about 200.
yeah that is really stupid i would have just expected to take the knife off of him and maybe a detention at the max but handcuffs and suspension anf everything jeez personally i think it is too far....
LOL thats so messed up. You remind me of one of my cousins actualy O_o
Anyway this reminds me of a story... One of my friends has alot of swords, daggers, shrukins, and other stuff. He went to his friends house and used his backpack as a suitcase. Well it turns out he forgot to take the knifes out. He was freaking out, i asked him what was wrong. He said "Look in my backpack" . He had a Rambo style Bowie knife!! lol, we had no problems at all, and i was the only one who knew.
some americans is just so STUPID. i live in norway and if we handcuffed a 12-year old (im 13) they could sue the principal for everything he has im almost 100% sure
thats too freakin wrong . i know i live in europe and that we dont got that amount of violense we hear of in the states but come on , i got my first knife to go around with at age 6. and never used it in fights or for abuse and never walk whithuot one since.and ive even been arested a cupple of times, no problem i feel sorry for your cusin ,how is he now.
i accendaintelly taken a swiss army knife to school i putt it in my locker and nobody ever knows it
but wat do you want to do with a knife if you go to the kitchen and get a 20 cm meat knife then you can call the police 1 inch is just like nothing a steel liner would be sharper
I got expelled in 6 grade too for pretty much the same thing. But I had a bad reccors already like f's and d's n I was always in trouble n shit but I still think it was bull crap.
it is all about conditioning kids to be used to living in a police state people don't think about little laws/rules to much they say it is for child safety but think about it like this when there adults they will be so used to doing what there told and not to question authority they will be so use to wearing id's around there necks they will love the idea of rfid chips under there skin one day .......they more people bitch about crap the more laws they make and the more freedom we lose ;(
my grandad (he's like 70) said that when he was in school, it would be odd for a kid to not have a penknife, even an 8 year old. when he was in class, his teacher would say "right, time for arts & crafts get your knives out" (for cutting string and stuff) and the kids used to play games with them, like throwing them and trying to stick them in the ground. he said "we used to say that every kid should carry a peice of string, a penknife, and a 50p coin... i could never afford the coin. "
i carried knives since i was like 7 and it was never a problem.
as for arresting minors, its policy.
you see the powers that be do not want children to grow up healthy, they want to undermine their developement so that they will grow up to be good little consumers who are dependent on the powers that be with no ability to think for themselves.
expect nothing but more of this crap.
this is how the powers that be control populations.
That's disgusting, that the school board and the court would do that. Were I the principal that would warrant, in my opinion, confiscation until a parent comes and picks it up and a detention, certainly not a calendar year's suspension and a felony charge. Ridiculous.
4:37 u rock dude man I have brought a 7 and a half finger pocket knife(illegal) and nothin happen omfg man I would do tyhe same thing man I was the parent
The School system uses no common knoledge here it just proves they don't know how to deal with the real desasters when they happen. Thats government logic at it's finest Fail
i get your point but the school is retarted like you said what is he going to do with a 1 inch pocket knife they should have called the parents and found out that there barely ever home and have them arrested for that not a 1 inch pocket knife in a school
omfg dude great point about the pen the schools over react ive seen friggin butterfly knives in school and fireworks but a friggin one inch knife cmon really handcuffs dude im subscribin to you :)
my granddad told me stories of when he was in school in the 50s and 60s and he said you used ot could flip blades in school and the teachers would do nothing they didnt care as long as you wernt killing people
I carried a flip out blade to school with me in my pocket. Looking back, I realize I was lucky never to be caught.
Before 1900, boys brought their knives and rifles to school and girls brought their sewing shears
Perhaps your cousin's parents would be interested in letting him homeschool. Kids learn better on their own terms than sitting in a classroom listening to someone drone about things they aren't interested in.
i dont even see why knives are illegal in school . . . you think they're gonna care if they want to use the knife to kill somebody? "oh dang, they have a rule against knives in this school, guess i cant go on a rampage because i forgot my medication this morning"
thats bull i got caught with a pocket knife in school and didnt get in troubble. and your cousin gets suspended for something he didnt know was wrong that shows how messed up the gov is
Im 13 years old and since my dad gave me this knife ive carried it on me ever since even to school ive always kept it in my pocket and its about three inches long i always use it to cut stuff
I was never without a knife. Even when I was in school. However I never told people I had one nor did I brandish it; It was no one's concern. I used the knife for simple things, cutting rope or other things and occasionally spreading peanut butter on a piece of toast. If people are going to be paranoid about stupid things then they should be banning every school related item and make everyone do things with a computer. Cordless mouse though so no one gets strangled. Loosen up for fuck sakes.
wow this is fucking gay why would they do that to a 12 year old kid at my school kids were caught doing drugs and saying they were going to stab people and all that happend to them is they were suspended for a week or 2 and then were welcomed back
Schools (and the government in general) are WAY too paranoid about knives (and most tools). In my world, kids SHOULD learn how to use a pocket knife properly, as a tool, and should be allowed for carrying in most places. How are kids going to learn responsibility if they have none?! If someone tries to hurt someone, they should pay the consequences. A tool shouldn't be banned because of that. People will always find a way to beat each other up no matter what, no matter how many bans.
i hate these bans seriously pencils are better weapons then knives yet they dont ban them and if your going to kill someone your gona bring your knife anyways so bans arent stoping bad guys there stoping good guys that use knifes for utillity purposes
one of my freinds got in trouble for haveing a spent shotgun shell on his key chain i mean SERIOUSLY whats he gonna do reload it with powder shot and put in a primer which would all require a 600 dollar machine to do (my dad has one) do all this at school melt plastic to seal up the holes punched iin the sides and some how find a way to set it off i mean seriously how gya is that these new zero tolerance laws are bullshit
That's retarded. I can't believe that they'd do that to a little kid. It's not like he's a hard core criminal. Maybe if he had some behavioral problems and seemed violent. Poor kid. I could do more damage using the hook of my earrings than a one-inch pocket knife can.
According to the school rules, my 2.5 inch pocketknife is not a knife but a "Dangerous object." Other objects that fall into this category include pencil sharpeners, scissors, and nail clippers.
HAHA pussy soldier boy got mad...=P Lookit, it is a huge over reaction, glad I never got caught with a 3 in knife, I would still be in jail and I'm 23... This was in high school,, nothing wrong with being prepared, I even let my teachers use it on several occasions.(including the principle). Oh and i have friends in the military and they weren't scared of an idy biddy knife like that. Yeah kids can get hurt, but scars makes character as some would say. No need to ruin their lives for a mistake.
i would rather use a water bottle that that knife in a fight

if a kid wanted to attack a school, they god damn would. There are only about half a MILLION things they could pay more attention to. But hell, a zero-tolerance policy is a zero-policy. Ffs
brickct123 1 year ago
Arresting a 10 year old kid instead of simply giving them detention only makes it more likely for the kid to become corrupt and turn on society because being arrested and being looked at as a killer at that age is traumatizing. If the kid was not going to hurt anyone then there is no reason to get men with guns to come and handle the situation all the school needed to do was take the knife away and call his parents.
MrFryguy001 1 year ago
There are areas throughout the schools in this country which are totaly fucked up. At my old high school the teachers wouldn't even let students have family pictures up on the comp screens because their mothers were in the pics and it is against school policies to have pictures of girls on your comp. If a 10 year old brings a mini knife like that too school then all you need to do is slap him on the wrist and give him a day or 2 of detention.

Even though its only 1" long pocket knife, It can do harm if you know how to use it. If you get it in the right place you can cut some ones spinal cord, you can cut some ones wind pipe. But they did go a little over the top, they should of just taking it away from him and just gave him detention

Man thats bull Crap. My grandpa used t tell me stories of him and his freinds taking their 22's to school, and were he went their was a room to hang their coats, and their was a rule that if you had a gun you had to put it in the coat room, and it was no big deal, and when school let out, my grandpa and his friends go and shoot rabits to bring back to their family to eat, but you have to keep in mind this was in the late 1930's and in a small texas town with the population of about 200.

the same thing happened to an old school m8 of mine only he had a bb gun.
the police will pretty much arrest you for anything these days
jonathan6185 1 year ago
Then what is the purpose of him bringing a knife to school?
Even though it is just 1 inch long, carrying a pocket knife is illegal.
I agree maybe hand-cuffing is not necessary, but suspending makes sense.
If the school or the cops let him go away with this, then next time he may bring a 5 inches pocket knife.

atnipjoe 2 years ago
my grandad (he's like 70) said that when he was in school, it would be odd for a kid to not have a penknife, even an 8 year old. when he was in class, his teacher would say "right, time for arts & crafts get your knives out" (for cutting string and stuff) and the kids used to play games with them, like throwing them and trying to stick them in the ground. he said "we used to say that every kid should carry a peice of string, a penknife, and a 50p coin... i could never afford the coin. "
TheHunty2010 2 years ago
you fucking pussies!
i carried knives since i was like 7 and it was never a problem.
as for arresting minors, its policy.
you see the powers that be do not want children to grow up healthy, they want to undermine their developement so that they will grow up to be good little consumers who are dependent on the powers that be with no ability to think for themselves.
expect nothing but more of this crap.

its because all those other parents who think knifes are necessarily bad and told the school board to ban them.

People will always find a way to beat each other up no matter what, no matter how many bans.
redrik009 2 years ago
i hate these bans seriously pencils are better weapons then knives yet they dont ban them and if your going to kill someone your gona bring your knife anyways so bans arent stoping bad guys there stoping good guys that use knifes for utillity purposes

JuliusCeasar223 2 years ago
That's retarded. I can't believe that they'd do that to a little kid. It's not like he's a hard core criminal. Maybe if he had some behavioral problems and seemed violent. Poor kid. I could do more damage using the hook of my earrings than a one-inch pocket knife can.
Redwitch0587 2 years ago
According to the school rules, my 2.5 inch pocketknife is not a knife but a "Dangerous object." Other objects that fall into this category include pencil sharpeners, scissors, and nail clippers.
