@Popnlock11 Well, you need some kind of tone generator (keyboard, guitar, etc) to play through the speaker, which then plays the sound through the hose that you put in your mouth. Your mouth just creates a different shaped "cabinet" that manipulates the sound waves. If you used your voice through the mic then ran the mic through the speaker, I have a feeling you'd get feedback.

@fenderbuzzer I think that's where I would start. The sound all has to be focused into the tube, so that there aren't any sound waves escaping elsewhere that aren't getting shaped by your mouth. Have fun with it!

That's correct. The speaker is self-amplified though, so if you don't have a self-amplified speaker of some sort (mine was an old computer speaker), you'd need to do it a different way.

when i first started with the talk box in 1988 i bought a real talk box for $120 it was a Jim Dunlop model the Heil Sound HT-1 Talkbox. The idea of people on here making so called GHETTO TALK BOXES is just ridiculous and the lacking of knowledge as to what a real one is and how to use it. Those ghetto talk boxes are made with regular speakers which is NOT what a talk box is even made with. I find anyone making it that way laughable.
