One of the best opening numbers of any of the tours of that era. When they were on top of their game, Bad Co was almost untouchable. I love the groove by Boz Burrell at the end. May he rest in peace.
I can remember these cats tearing the roof off Madison Square Garden with this song as the opening number in 1979. To this day one of the best concerts I've ever witnessed. Great song, great band. Thanks for sharing this video. Love, Billy
Somebody must have flagged this as a joke or something. This is one of the best performances I've ever seen and there is nothing "inappropriate" about it!
Thank you for this. Have wanted to see this for years. 29, to be precise. Simon Kirke with moustache, even! One of the best hard rock bands of the lot. Mick Ralphs actually avoids the camera, which is unusual for a guitarist. Like Paul Rodgers' new image, too. RiP, Boz - you were brilliant.
Mick is/was a great player, saw him with Mott about 8 times and BC once. Never got the credit he deserved with Bad Co. All the emphasis on PR. Not to say PR ain't a great singer, but it takes two to tango.....or four in this case.
I saw Paul Rogers perform this last night in Houston with the Trans-Siberia Orchestra... it was INCREDIBLE! I was front-row center and let me tell ya, that man still ROCKS IT!
I saw them in 79, April, Chicago Stadium. Desolation Angels tour I believe. Great show! One of the best I ever saw and that includes every great band one can think of! Peace on,,,,,,,,,
I thought Paul Rodgers was great as the lead singer for Bad Company, but I heard him sing with Queen a while back & he just wasn't as good with them as Freddy was.
Boz, may he rest in peace..was also a great vocalist, check out his work on King Crimson't 4th "Islands" (where Fripp actually taught him BASS). I would like to see Paul work with Earl Slick. I think it would cook..
best version of the song by far for me, ..the guitar solo is so different to the recored LP, ..great guitarist love his style and cluesy influence...simple pentatonic licks are awesome...
My first rock concert, Houston Tx around 76 or 77.
Bad Company with DAve Edmond's rock pile opening for BC (they did Wabash Cannonball I recall) The smell of herb was STRONG I recall. Highschool heaven.
I met Paul along with Jimmy Page in 1986 outside the Edinburgh Playhouse after the Firm played. Awesome show and Paul was such a great guy staying around until we all had our Free and BadCo albums signed and photos taken.
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Paul is looking a bit Asian these days. Perhaps a little bit of plastic surgery... almost didn't recognize him in pictures on the BadCo official web site.
That's a pretty bold statement. What about the late Freddie Mercury of Queen? Best living rock voice, perhaps? That way, you'd get less of an argument. Best overall? I would have to agree to disagree with you.
You can hear that it's not so easy getting a band back together with new musicians, calling it Bad Company. This one has the drive and soul of BC, very fine band! not the followup featuring Rodgers and Philips and 2 other guys, somewhere late in the nineties.
Pau Rodgers is one of the very few who sound as good - or better - now, than he did 30 years ago! Amazing. Rod Stewart once said Paul was the best British rock vocalist, that's a reasonably impressive endorsement! There are too many to pick only one, For yje inner circle, I also vote for John Wetton, Klaus Meine (Scorpions), Kevin Cronin, Steve Walsh (Kansas), Stevie Winwood and Freddy Mercury.
what about Steve Perry? Mark Knopfler doesn't have an astounding voice really, but it is very distinct and recognizable. Neil Young..Getty Lee..John Fogerty all get my vote also. I agree with your choices, but all time winner goes to Mercury..no doubt the best ever
i met and had the chance to talk to paul for 20 min.s in germany, he was the reason i started singing and is a realllllyyy nice bloke,AWGMJANS you forgot steve perry
