  • Great song! Shame that this group didn't have any real chart success after "Bend Me, Shape Me" (which made it to #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in February 1968).

    Whatever happened to them after their initial chart success (before reforming as "Rufus")?

  • @ChihuahuaboyDH From what I've read, it was pretty much a revolving door for band members and name changes after '68. Al Ciner and Kevin Murphy stayed and they eventually became Rufus (with Chaka Khan) in the early 70's. If you're interested, be sure to check out their first hit, 'Step Out Of Your Mind,' here on this channel :)

  • Good song, I never heard of it before. I looked it up and it went to # 39 on Billboard in 1968. Ron

  • I didn't know if it had made the charts outside of the midwest. I had to look through my old WLS surveys to find it, though I knew it was early '68. Thanks for looking this up!!
