  • beautiful solo

  • With 5 strings... AMAZING...! Yeeeaaaahhhhh... like a GOD...!

  • @BATENKILL

Tessa Niles, I quite agree ;-)

  • No one does this better than Clapton

  • Nice song - but lousy quality

  • That chic at 4:16 is smokin hot

  • i wonder if this show is before or after SRV died.

  • Eric Clapton is what some would call an unstoppable force.

  • even when he brakes a string is with style

  • NICE!

  • For Dean AND HIS ..TCH

  • For my Dean and his ..tch

  • clapton's solo was awesome .......!!!!

  • If Clapton isn't God, he's an Angel in a pink suit.

  • Mega powerful.

  • re the broken string thing: I saw Eric sit in with Buddy Guy, Berkeley '67 during Creams first tour. He broke a string a couple songs into the first set and played uninterrupted for at least three or four more songs, and you'd never have known it if it weren't a small club (the new orleans house on san pablo). Amazing then, amazing now.

  • it's maria sharavopa at 0:43

  • This is THE song

  • Listen here: The Lace sensor pickups sounds waaaaaaay better than the new Vintage noiseless...Cant understand why he change them...grrrrrrrr

  • @MrSiddhardta : Because he wanted a sound bluesier than this heavier tone ;)

  • bass player is beast..............

  • Ow yea!! Pinkclapton :D thats what i mean proformance! String broke and nobody look to it and he stil rockin ^^ go Slowhand!!

  • why pink eric great song

  • only english guys can make pink suits cool.

  • Effortless class, style and simplicity at his blues best...with a shuffle

  • @aleherzko. The guy with the red strat is Phil Palmer and I agree, what a beautiful solo, have thought so since the first time I saw this in 1990, to quote Eric "take it Phil" lol love it!!!

  • @gaspita Not really strange that guitar string was broken bij Clapton, most strings cant handle his horny guitarplaying.

  • 13 stupid mind

  • Bifor acus mi, teik a luc at iorselv, sin dudas una acusmidad extrema.

  • Slowhand

  • Mr. Clapton is rocking that pink suit like a boss! Fuck the haters.

  • a god in a pink suit

  • anyone who dont like this is completely clueless or just jealous.

  • Wow...awesome performance

  • I ACCUSE 12 PEOPLE!!!

  • I don't care how how much of a guitar god he is, the sight of Slowhand at 1:42-1:47 with his long hair and awful pink suit blowing in the wind, while he pulls a closed-eye look of serious concentration, is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen.

  • @StraitKnopfler Play like him. We'll talk later.

  • Comment removed

  • @StraitKnopfler If you like to wear pink suit, you're probably gay. If you wear pink suit and play guitar well, you are the coolest man in the world. Keep that on your mind ;)

  • @RequinRage Ha, you may be right!

  • @StraitKnopfler You get he's in show business and there are 10's of thousands of people watching who paid good money for exactly that eh?

  • @Sointula2 Relax, I may not have emphasized enough that I'm a fan and have seen him twice (he was wearing jeans at both). That doesn't mean that I can't rib him for certain bizarre choices of clothing, though I confess after thousands of shows it must be difficult to find something nice every single time. I doubt anyone paid the entry fee simply because they heard he was wearing a pink suit, so I'd contest that they paid 'for exactly that'. Surely it's not a suit you'd wear, famous or not!

  • Whats the deal with those pickups?

  • That's an alluminium Strat ....look closely.....no give like wood

  • @rufus99999 I very much doubt that. I played an aluminum bodied Tele at a gig one time that someone did a beautiful job of building, but the guitar itself was useless. Every stray breeze coming through the door knocked it out of tune....Expansion/contraction of the hollow aluminum body!!

  • He's so sexy and cool, he doesn't have to color his eyes to be like that like some cats this days do!!! And he was remains and always will be the GOD of Guitar, Pure blues spirit in Rockers body!!! Eric Clapton Is the Biggest, I mean It!!!

  • Thanks a lot for uploading pal, we appreciate the HELL out of it!

  • The "guys with the red strat" is a genious!

  • Miami Vice!

  • The base player nathen east

  • How do I get my strat to sound like that on the lead parts?, I have an American Strat, Tube amd and an Ibnez Tube Blaster but still plincky on the really high notes

  • @MrCraigDNelson you need to get an Eric Clapton Signature guitar and turn the midboost all the way to ten for the solo. You can also install one in any Strat, but with some mods. That explains only in part why he cuts through the mix like that in the solos. Here I think he is also using a chorus effect, which I personally do not like for blues. ECs hands and soulful playing help a litte too ;0)

  • Hahahaha he broke his string but still rocked the fuck out this man is a beast :D a blues demon :D

  • eric always breaks strings is that good

  • groso

  • puh... this ugly pink jacket reminds me that i have to listen, not to watch. definately better.

  • you dont have to play fast fingers in guitar playing,.because fast

fingers will take you only hours of practice,.but the feeling of

blues music will take you years and even decades to get thru

it..blues is easy to play but it is hard to feel..its not how fast your finger is,it is how you play the note..thats why eric

clapton is i think one of the best guitarist in the world.

  • @jasonteten on how many clapton s vid did yuou post that comment :P just saw it on old love :P

  • 2:04 the guitar string get broken, but eric stills plays like a god (Y)

  • @gaspita Nice recovery huh? ;-)

  • @gaspita he IS god

  • @gaspita fuk me even as he breaks the string it sound good

  • @gaspita Ha, yea. He even plays in accordence to the note, the broken string turns out. Pretty amazing stuff!

  • who is the bass player?

  • Don't miss this!!!

Listen to this wonderful cover of “I'll Be Waiting“!

    youtube.com/watch?v=pyI70m7ImGU

  • wind issue

  • This is great stuff. I'm not a guitarist, but I enjoy the arts of Clapton, Vaughn, Hendrix, and many others. I, myself, am a drummer. I've been wanting to get a cover project together, alas, lack good members here in my general area. I'd love to jam some blues/rock any day. I play everything, genre wise. I have the most respect for jazz/blues guitarists. They know how to put on a show and good solos!

  • Yes, strats DO have a certain quality about them that I really like. They say the guitars were formed after a woman's shape. I guess proportionally, Les Pauls have a bigger butt than the strats do. Both of them nice, of course, and I wouldn't kick either of them out of the studio for eating crackers. Do you ever play in the New England area?

  • Wow, that was awesome. Usually when you break a string on a stratocaster, because of the nature of the springs in the whammy bar, it usually becomes as useful as a canoe paddle, totally out of tune and all that. You didn't see that happen here. What a pro he is.

  • @4001XBASS Clapton actually blocks the trems on his guitars. it makes the whammy bar useless but the guitar stays in tune way better.

  • @texacaster Ahh, thank you. I totally forgot about the blocking of the tremolo bars. Yeah, he never was one to dive-bomb much. Thanks for reminding me. I have a couple of strats and it never occurred to me to block them. I take it by your name you play, are you a telecaster or stratocaster person, or both?

  • @4001XBASS I use both. With my original band I use teles and with the cover band I use strats and gibsons. I always go back to the strat in a pinch though.

  • 12 people don't know what's good music!

  • see y self

  • The blues man

  • nice suit!!

  • Interesting that a lot of Clapton's best tunes were songs someone else wrote...

  • Robben ford maybe ? ?

  • Clapton is god

  • ROCK FANS: Can you give a second to listen to my band's FIRST TRACK PLEASE WE NEED YOU OPINION....it would be great :D thanks!

    its right here--> youtube.com/watch?v=ERC7az6Aiyk

KEEP TRUE MUSIC ALIVE AND WELL by listening to new bands!

  • @Manymemz tried but it just sent me to youtubes home page

  • breaks a string and keeps going and sounding perfect... amazing

  • does anyone know the name of the bald guy behind clapton at 5:21?

  • @oc1612 it is Ray Cooper, he is a percussionist, hes played with every popular musician in the 70, 80, and 90's

  • @domanski1000 And still playing.

  • @oc1612 ray cooper

  • 3:42 hahaha awesome!

  • 1.54-2.00 Nathan East doing his best James Brown facial expression. LOL

  • @dzaus81 I think its John Illsley of the Dire Straits...but can't tell for sure.

  • who is a guy with a red strat?!?

  • @dzaus81 I think its John Illsley (the Dire Straits bassist) but I can't tell for sure

  • @dzaus81 the guy with the red strat is phil palmer, he's a session guitarist who played with clapton, george michael, dire straits on every street tour etc.

  • @daveeeed thx dude!

  • @daveeeed correct! he played with Dire Strait in the live "On the Night , such a brilliant guitarist :)

  • eric clapton is the man

  • Great song.

    Great point.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • amazing song, terrible outfit

  • What's the he did at 2:05?

  • @losaface4 He broke his 2nd string 2 seconds before. At 2:05 he was just removing the broken string. Later, while Phil Palmer is playing a solo, Eric gets another guitar and plays the end of the song.

  • lrgenda rocka ostaće za sve vjekove

  • Eric en 2:05 , pareciera que hace tapping, pero en realidad saca una cuerda larga que le qedo sin cortar

  • I don't know nothing bout birthing no babies but I do know blues when I hear it and folks I can tell you, this is some gooood blues. Thanks for sharing.

  • This so great. It is just so good. When Eric comes in with that lead guitar I could drop to the floor. I enjoy listening to Eric as much as I enjoy listening to the Beatles

There ain't nothin like the blues.

I'll say it again brother....There ain't nothin like the blues!

  • Everytime I get an advertisement, I shut the volume off.

  • flymarvin is a little bit confused and real music is apperently something completely new for him. If you're unable to recognize pure quality then you should'nt post at all but be very humble and shut up.

  • the only thing worse than music nowdays is seeing obama ad the start of a video

  • Garry Moore is better:-)

  • @EsaulRuss Gary Moore better than Eric Clapton? You are obviously not a musician.lolol

  • @guitargirl761 Once again I stated my opinion and nothing more. Calling me "not a musician" because of that is a little to fast and foolhardy. In fact I do play guitar on professional level and sing very well, I just do not show it off on my channel because I do not make money with that ability. regards!

  • @EsaulRuss I'll be damned. No matter what youtube video that I view, there's always a dumb-ass comment that takes away from something good.

  • @guitargirl761 Hey, I did not mean to bring Eric down, I was only flirting with Eric fans that's all. I love Clapton's music I just love Garry more:-)

  • @EsaulRuss If Gary Moore was in this video with Eric, he would have played about 5000 notes in his solo. Drastically overplaying. He gets so out of sync with every tune he plays.

The other fellow playing lead is great. Very selective in his riffing.

  • @EsaulRuss I don't think so.... With Eric there is soul, with Gary there is speed, i like them both, but Eric over Gary

  • ...check ....checked checked....guitar checked, pink suit checked .. damn, clapton is awesome

  • GOD??? WHERE are these fools brains?

If this is GOD you`re in for a BIG surprise.

  • this song is Awesome!

  • with this song I feel like in a pool salon playing and smoking mennn yeaahhhh!!!

    Clapton forever

  • so cool this song

  • PS, I love you

    (Pink Suit, that is) :)

  • Too much cocaine to make a human playing like this... and of course, a contract with de devil.

  • the only reason for the dislikes is the not perfect quality...:-)

  • Eric x

  • Eric Clapton is not god...This comparison i'm sure he would admit today was a hinderance and not a blessing...Incidently this is the best track he ever cut in the style of blues...G...

  • I love his sound with the Soldanos in the early 90's. The Cornells.. Eh. Not so much.

  • did he put a new string on :|

  • @esbramakopf No, he switched guitars. He started with the Pewter with Flamed neck, broke the string, then switched to the Pewter with Birdseye neck :)

  • @CompleteCretin ow ok haha

  • 10 bieber fans

  • Like fine wine he gets better with age.

  • SOLDANO!!!

  • This is every musicians beat...... one that can only be done by the best.

  • ahora que veo esto, que buena que esta la vercion de rata blanca!!!

  • pink, shoulder pad suit jacket plus tiger print guitar strap - god has big balls!

  • Did he break the E or B? I can't believe how flawlessly he dealt with it....the riff fit right in!

  • @Jim21680 He broke the E string.

  • @danecook321 He actually broke the B string. Just after the break he plays the E string (12th fret E note) at about 2.09 in this vid :)

  • @CompleteCretin My bad, I see it now.

  • oooh awesome... real live!!! and real wind..???

  • Clapton, I cover this song live, and love to play along with this video, great fun.

All those knocking it, just enjoy the moment, that's what music is all about.

  • i grew up on clapton and sixties music, but don't hate on nirvana. they may not be an amazingly talented band, but they had the attitude and and anger in their music that appealed to generation x. don't get me wrong, i love this stuff, but it's not all about talent, even though that really helps most of the time. and before you accuse me, take a look at yourself.

  • Awful. I'd be pissed off if I was in that audience and had paid to see vain pilfering.

  • Great clapton, cute tessa niles!

  • I just love it where he breaks the string, pulls it out the way and carries on... absolute magic

  • Is he God? Hundreds of thousands of people can't be wrong.

  • @theoriginalbadbob hundreds and thousands were wrong about the earth being flat..Either way slowhand is god's little brother

  • @bthoma1 You mean the Earth isn't flat?

  • @theoriginalbadbob yep like I thought, your one of them :l

  • @theoriginalbadbob and all of the monroe worshipers in tommy agree with you too.

  • Instead of comparing musicians by technique or by how many notes they can squeeze into a second, take a look at Nathan East's face (1:55). The sheer joy he's experiencing from Clapton's playing says all that need be said.

  • @saffsgrandad hate to say it, but Nathan East is always smiling...... thats not to say he still isn't still enjoying himself!!

  • eric clapton is god

  • @goffi66 More like GARBAGE you idiot.

  • he brakes a string and still plays. that takes skill man ..... you gotta know where to go . CLAPTON

  • El mejor guitarrista.

  • ERIC IS GOD

  • anyone with patience and good coordination could learn to shred three note per string ideas.. that DOESNT make you a musician or a good guitar player... playing like Clapton from within goes way beoynd techinque... it's not somehting you can really learn.. you have it or you dont... Learning to play Eruption is much easier than say the solo from Crossroads..

  • Very very very far from being one of the best. Comparing any top tier guitar player... Gilbert, Hendrix, Vai, Eddie, David Brady, Malmsteen etc etc, with Kurt Cobain would be like comparing a tank to a honda.

  • @Swmhunter Who are you anyway?

  • @Swmhunter HAHA ow my god XD you just dont know what youre talkin about

  • @esbramakopf You honestly think Kurt Cobain is a top tier guitar player? Wow you're as stupid as your name suggests.

  • @Swmhunter NOOO i dont o.o i really dont think that kurt kobain is a good guitarplayer :|

  • @Swmhunter oh wait sorry i miss understood you, no i thought you were talkin about eric clapton, no i really do agree with you that kurt kobain ISNT a top tier guitar player, sorry man i made a mistake XD

  • THIS my freind, is blues

  • Must respond...voicing...it's all about Claptons' voicing...chords...or lead-licks...everyone (artistically), has their own voice deep inside...it's what makes u u. Technically...that's just another vein...unless technical...is all you are...

  • he brakes a string...

  • stevie ray vaughan is amazin, but i jst love all theis music blues baby!

  • Il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère il gère...

  • classic riff!!!

  • Don't forget Allen Collins.

  • If Clapton isn't God, he's an Angel in a pink suit.

  • este DVD é fantástico....simplesmente reúne os maiores nomes do rock dos anos 70/80....sintam a sintonia da música.....

  • im digging eric in pink. lol
