i know we're talking about the cls 55 but my dad has the e63 2007 and i don't know how those get on against the m3 or m6 but i do know that the e63 i quicker than the m5 in a straight line but i'm sure the lightness and agility of the m5 would certainly woop the e class in the bends i think amg for everyday and straight line but for track and country bends m5 or m3 anyday

the McLaren F1 engine is a redesigned BMW 7/8 series engine. And if i recall correctly, Honda was originally supposed to supply the motor.
Also the Ascari A10 does use an E39 M5 engine, but beyond the original factory design, its all ascari modifications.

If they wanted a German car with good track performance, they shouldda bought a Porsche, not a BMW. Agreed on the second part of your comment as well, HP/L is such a ricer argument. Cars with greater hp to liter ratios typically have peaky power curves, meaning they have no low end or midrange torque & worse MPG's.

well clk 63 black series costs the same as an m6 and beats the m6 in virtually every single factor of performance, i,e braking handling acceleration the new body e63 out performs the m5 in handling and speed and of course there's the c63 which was recorded as germanys first stock sedan to hit 62mph in under 4 seconds

No doubt it is a powerful car with great looks but it is too expensive to be a 500hp car. M6 has rear seats, while CLK 63 black takes everything off in the name of performance.

Please elaborate on how BMW is a big money waste? How much do CLS55 AMG retail for? How much do M3s go for? I bet CLS55AMG would cost a little (being sarcastic ;) more than M3. investing 5-10k on a supercharger for M3 definitely worth it. By the way, Gpower achieved world's fastest sedan and coupe with BMW engines. Again, throw a supercharger on M3/M5 and it will take a dump on any AMG and at the same time be less expensive. On the end note, MB did not win the best performance engine award...

the McLaren F1 engine is a redesigned BMW 7/8 series engine. And if i recall correctly, Honda was originally supposed to supply the motor.
Also the Ascari A10 does use an E39 M5 engine, but beyond the original factory design, its all ascari modifications.

thats the old model. the new ascari10 has the V10 engine from bmw (m5/m6). McLaren used to be a BMW engine, now its a MB engine. Look it up. The Gumpert apollo shits on teh ascari and its has VW-Audi chasis with an MB block and porsche components such as the Vario Cam. Also, MB is coming up with the new 2011 SLS AMG that has 563hp & another vers. w/ a 525hp from an ELECTRIC engine. it will be priced for less than $200K. 1886 karl benz produced hte first car ever made, a MB. bmw started in 1920
