  • I remember when the good old American series swept all across Europe and reach the edge of the socialist countries. They tried to ban each one of them, but the Dallas was the first series that had a power which changed the history. I mean this series is about capitalism and relations, but they still allowed it, because every each one of us watched it... We watched every American movies and series... even our socialist prime minister watched Dallas. :D

  • @Weedahoful PROZAC'S WORKIN 4 YA?

  • @LLH1184 I don't need Medication. All we have is this moment. And Dallas was just another crummy show tha thappned to be popular.

  • @MrMegaGakka calm down

  • Invigorating theme.

  • This is Texas! Wow

  • Wow downtown Dallas has grown so much since then, kid you not it looks so empty in this intro lol wow times have changed.

  • @TheNicole214 Yep. "Dallas". Destroying the Wild Open Beauty of Texas, one stupid stripmall at a time.

  • Dallas isnt nothing like this sitcom, go there and youll see nothing but blacks and mexicans!

  • Anybody remember the good old day of the original 14 years of this show. Now it is back again 21 years later.

  • thumbs up if you came hear looking for debbie ...

  • Dallas loved to insult the TV viewers intelligence , two sons with their wives living under the same roof as their parents ,one phone in the house that they had to share ,weddings on the garage drive ,these people were multi millionaires! Its laughable but was a great show in its heyday.

  • TELEVIZNÍ NOVINY!

  • Just added this video 2 my PLAYLIST of American TV Programme Intro's :)

  • Don't really care for the show but this tune is real catchy.

  • VAN NUYS VAN NUYS! GRAB YOU SHOPPING CARTS EVERYBODY!

  • K SERIE ESTUPENDA VOLTEM A PASSALA PRA MATAR SAUDADES

Search for Dallas on Daily Motion or just visit my you-tube profile which has a link to our forum where I have embedded the episodes to our forum

    :)

  • Victoria Principal,,,,Yummy

  • Greatest American series of the 80' : )

  • I feel like a farmer when i listen this song.

  • Świetny podład muzyczny. Topping music and serial!

  • I bet the city scape looks VERY different today. I loved the song as a kid, but when it came on it was my cue to hit the sack. I always asked if I could watch the intro, THEN go to bed...wish granted ;).

  • My mom loved this show, she was a big fan of Dallas.

  • That house looks more like Tara than Southfork, and no I hadn't been born when this started so I do not know why the house changed...Looks very windy there.

  • @DaveyC95 ...I think this house was a clip taken from the original mini-series which was shot on location at South Fork Ranch in Texas. The later episodes were shot at a Hollywood studio. I think that may be the difference you're talking about

  • @MultiBaldEagle ..Yes, the Southfork I saw from the exterior was different to the one used in most of the series..This must have been filmed in Texas itself as I believe they used to film there a lot in the early days.

  • DALLAS IS COMING BACK ON THE TNT NETWORK !!! Most of the original players will be on it. WOOHOO !!!!!!

  • Que buena era esta serie y su música.

I like this serial and its music.

  • Welcome to Dallas, where the grass is brown. The buildings are brown. The cars are brown. The expressway is brown. The cows are brown. The trees are brown. The overcoats are brown. The hats are brown. Larry Hagman is brown. The farmland is brown.

  • RIP Jim Davis

    RIP Barbara Bel Geddes

  • Of course this was the opening miniseries and it really didn't sound like that. That is just the Tee Vee Tunes opening, much more updated than 1978.

  • da war fernsehen noch ein genuss !

  • The first season of Dallas had more in common with The Little House On The Prairie in so far as the episodes were more self contained stories with a moral resolution at the end. It was only later that the end of episode Cliffhangers were introduced and a sense that the bad guys always win.

  • I enjoy this show all 14 season of them.

  • I think of sister in Dallas, I actually saw south fork ranch when I was14 And got too the Big D back then I want to go back

  • I noticed that the Reunion center (the tower with the round ball on top) is not on this skyline. I'm guessing it was built after 1978-79?

  • @ChristineCAlb it's there, just the bottom half is show at 0:13.

  • Some of the best Dallas episodes.

  • I now live in Dallas and actually live pretty close to the mansion they used for the show here in Plano. The the landscape has changed tremendously since this show!! It is amazing to see how bare everything was back then when this was made. WOW what a change!!

  • Legendary!

  • i know this have nothng to do with the show but i mus tell you avoid a shell station 's state inspection on kiest and 67 they are buncha crook they fail good vehicle and make me pay again

  • I once lived in Wichita Falls, TX for almost a year....So close to Dallas but I never went there. Such a fool was I....

  • Do they ever play this at Mavs, Stars or Cowboys games?

  • One of the best themes ever. They certainly weren't afraid of a decent melody in those days.

  • NOW FOR ALL OF US WHO ARE OLD ENOUGH TO REMEMBER DALLAS,THIS WAS THE ONE SHOW ON FRIDAYS THAT WOULD MAKE US LATE TO THE CLUB.I KNOW I COULDN'T MISS IT AT 9:00PM ON FRIDAYS.WHEN IT WAS OVER THEN IT WAS TIME TO GET READY FOR THE CLUB.

  • My mom use to watch this show religiously!! They show reruns on CMT sometimes and she knows every story line behaind every character and now she has peeked my interest! I guess it's true girls really do turn into their mothers!

I loved the skyline of this. I bet if they redid the same skyline now it would not look as great. I hate that. The south has become to commercialized, it use to be so quaint even in big southern cities.

  • Eine wahre Kult-Serie !

  • era when america wasnt so over populated.wish i had visit the usa in that time.

  • I loved Dallas growing up! It inspired DESPERATE PLASTIC a spoof of Dallas and Dynasty made with 12" Dolls. Check out the intro... YouTube DESPERATE PLASTIC

  • Dallas!

  • Funny it looks almost like its widescreen

  • The Dallas Skyline Looks completely different Then On here..Boi Thay Must Took These Photo's a Very Long Time Ago.

  • Great idea Parrish213. One thing that did change is that Texas Stadium no longer graces the skyline of Irving. I miss that place. There are alos a lot of new buildings downtown like the American Airlines Arena. Cowboys Stadium is also new so they could open the roof and fly over it to get a similar shot. Can't wait for the new series.

  • Larry hagman will be back...as JR...on the NEW Dallas which was just picked up as a series! Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy are back as well! Now , their kids are 30. Can't wait!

  • @toddsherry ...Really!!! Super Duper! cannot wait...-:)

PS: make fools out of the bushes...-:)

  • @toddsherry after having rewatched the series a couple of years ago, a friend of mine and I decided it would be a good twist if Bobby's son, Christopher was more JR-like (bad guy) and JR's son-John Ross would be the nice guy. because we got to realizing that Pam spoiled Christopher rotten on that show. I cant wait to see what they do, regardless!

  • @toddsherry My aunt was in this show. She was the Ewing Oil Receptionist and would appear occasionally. Not a huge deal, but still pretty cool.

  • Nobody and I mean nobody could play a bad guy as well as Larry Hagman!

  • Dallas looks like Hooterville in this video compared to what it looks like now.

  • It should be greatest drama series ever created FOR CBS television. The opening credits clearly say it's a Lorimar production.

  • with fish ewing!!!

  • wow...skyline looks nothing like that anymore

  • @Parrish213 It would be an interesting project to (at least attempt to) make a recording along the trace of the original and see what has changed.

  • What a great idea for a show

  • Houston would have been a better place.

  • Who cares if George Harrison liked it

  • @Scoti45 i do

  • George Harrison-the beatles, was a fan of this series x)

  • van nuy van nuys

  • what pisses me off is many of the Dallas Cowboy fans I see in my neighborhood and at work don't give a crap about the Mavericks, who actually WON an NBA championship!

  • Where was that house in the opening titles? That is not the one used in most of the series as Southfork.

  • I dedicate this to the Dallas Mavericks' championship. Dirk Nowitzki, J Terry & company- blessings!

  • I expect they needed to associate Dallas with something else than JFK's murder location, what with the House Assassination Committee in its run then.

  • I remember pretending I was a Cowboy cheerleader and dancing my way through the whole intro. LOL

  • Simply the best show ever produced for television.

  • I still think patrick duffy didn't look at all like he belonged in dallas. he is a good actor but his looks just didn't fit the part. larry hagman did a great job though on this show.

  • @coolbeans278

True, but he was the contrast to Larry Hagman, and there is always a contrasting brother in this situation in real life

  • SO HAPPY ITS BACK!

  • When this show started, Roger Staubach was quarterback for the Cowboys ... when it ended, Troy Aikman was quarterback ... think about that.

  • When this show first started who would have thought Larry Hagman could play a Character you love to hate. since at the time he was known for I Dream of Jeanie. but then later you think he was perfect for the role concidering at times you wanted to strangle Tony Nelson because he wouldn't let Jeanie use her magic.

  • The skyscraper/cattle/agriculture connection. All hat, no cattle.

  • @etbella3 You forgot to mention oil. And JFK. And "Screw you, we're from Texas".

  • I remenber this opening. The music make back to my rise.

    Love 80'S.

  • je l'ai toujours preferé le générique original à la version française

  • An era when TV entertained us.

  • @MrBradv65 No kidding, this was long before the days of Jersey Shore. Long before Lindsay Lohan was even an itch in her daddy's pants.

  • Sounds great, guys!! Thank you!!!

  • Perfect song to have sex to!

  • what's the name of this song? or has another?

  • what's the name of this song? or has another?

  • @americanjedi77 haha! OH : ) well I'm glad you're still here! Dallas is THE only reason one could ever have for watching TV.

  • No Linda Gray in the 1st season credits? Damn, I guess she started as a minor character.

  • helicoptor shadow shot, is epic

  • Everyone knows how much Dallas sucks. Houston is kicks its ass.

  • I discovered this show recently on Netflix and it is THE SHIT. .

  • The opening intro alone makes you want to take a trip to Dallas...

  • @JASONFIED My heroes have always been (Dallas) Cowboys.

  • @JASONFIED Dude, one nanosecond before reading your comment I thought the same thing, lol

  • @escrete20000 lol...I knew I wasn't the only one to think the same thing.

  • Im watching the series now for the 3rd time. Best drama series ever. I cant get enough.

  • for me this is the best American TV series, bye!

  • dont know, how to dislike this theme...in german we called its an "ohrwurm" :D :)

  • was does JR drink at Ranch? And what at office?

Guessing brandy but what type. Nothing on net.

Trying watch S3 at moment. little slow.

S4, S5 awesome. watched many fav ep's over and over.

Jr sabotaging Bobby oil well, endless, etc, etc

I 1st heard of Dallas in 90s from a clive James postcards rerun.

  • this was the reason internationals came to dallas in many languages 3 kings

    many nations

  • HOUSTON is bigger and more beautiful

  • Man not trying to sound cocky or anything but I am proud to born and raised in the great city of DALLAS!!!!!!!!

  • Virtualpilot31

I believe that is I-35 in the beginning bro

  • I wonder if this series would have worked if it was based in Houston and called "Houston"

  • This is the best Theme Song to the funniest Soap Opera of all time

  • I miss everything from 80's :music,movies,music videos...

  • What Highway is that in the very begininng , I know that Dallas has changed alot since this was filmed, but does anyone out there know what Highway that is??

  • That helicopter shadow will forever bug me.

  • @xemxi142 is alive!

  • @xemxi142 That's hilarious! For years that was a thorn in my side as well!

  • @xemxi142 Me too. Best show ever!

  • @xemxi142 then take a chill pill,you loser

  • @xemxi142 I always kind of thought of it as JR's private helicopter coming into town :)

  • @xemxi142 Right! I was thinking the same thing.

  • I wish i had balls like JR and a hot babe like pamela to party with. Um-huh !!!

  • Comment removed

  • This theme and the series are so iconic of the 80s. My grand parents used to talk about the characters as if they were real people. Lol.

  • fuck capitalism - do not fuck capitalism girls (only silicone booty and tits)

  • ....GET BACK TO THAT SANITARIUM SWELLEN!!!!

  • @nealtracy .... a pretty gal, now isn't that so?

  • Proud to be a Dallasite!

  • THEY ARE STARTING THIS SHOW AGAIN!!

  • I miss good tv like this.

  • I remember Texas Stadium before J.R Ewing tore it down....Oops, that was Jerry Jones.

  • @Wellch I dig it .... the low life turner destroyed DT Atlanta... Single - handedly.... NO KIIDDIN!

  • @time2act1001 -- To me, Jerry Jones was J.R. Ewing. If you are talking about Ted Turner, he can be J.R. Ewing too.

  • come to dallas and get screwed by the hyatt regency is what i think when i hear this song dont ever stay at that place if your in dallas

  • Dallas. The scene of the greatest tragedy in American history. Drop a nuclear warhead on that cess pool and wipe away the memory.

  • @squirevet How about we drop a warhead on YOU buddy? You can't punish an entire city for 1 person's stupidity. That's absolutely ignorant of you which makes you no better than the perp.

  • Anyone from Dallas? What's the huge building at 0:15?

  • @MalibuFilmsWT The glass building at 0:15 is the Hyatt Regency, right next to Reunion Tower on the Western side of downtown Dallas.

  • @spreadingthelovelike And just like that I'm looking at it in Google maps. I love the internet. Thanks!

  • I have watched these intros, and made that conclusion : I was four to five years old when I saw first Dallas episodes. I didnt even know how to read the subtitles....

  • Cowboys!!

  • hahaha when I was a little boy I didn't watch DALLAS but the SONG was GREAT!!! :D

  • big like! :D

  • Of all the characters in this show, my two absolute favorites were Jock Ewing (Jim Davis) and the character I REALLY loved to hate JR Ewing (Larry Hagman put in a stellar performance with this character). That grin/smile he cultivated when doing something to screw other people, an ABSOLUTE masterful bit of acting EVERY time he did it.

  • In the Who shot JR season ending cliffhanger, did anyone guess the shooter correctly? Me I had all my money on Sue Ellen. No one in my family had an inkling that it was Sue Ellen's sister.
