I've read about the controversy swirling around rc sproul jr for months and months now and i'm not sure what is true and what isn't, but i'll simply say this: Sproul SENIOR is surrounded by very Godly and very doctrinally solid men and if he was doing anything himself that was explicitly immoral (i.e. financial fraud) i'm pretty dang sure Jmac and others would call him into account. I think he's CLEAN. whether his son is or not is a matter of debate. i just don't know....

It seems you're glossing over the seriousness of the charges by chalking it up to paedocommunion. If by "immorality" you mean they weren't defrocked for adultery or polygamy, you're right. But "no signs of immorality here"? You can't be serious! So you're saying that tax fraud is moral? Abuse of ecclesiastical authority is moral? Violating ordination vows is moral? Duplicity is moral? You lost me.

sproul was defrocked for participating in padeo communion. He is a controversial person but to my knowledge there are no credible alligations of immorality for sproul jr.I just greatly think he needs a bit more time to mature as a normal pastor because I think he's compared to his dad alot so he falls short.

also don't forget that Sproul JR was defrocked not for immorality but for his Church's practice of padeo-communion. I disagree with the theology but no signs of immorality there.

This has been a very sad week for me. First I find out that the son of Dr. R.C. Sproul has a serious drinking problem (Google on "drinking with R.C. Sproul Jr."). Then I find out that he was also defrocked, but he still calls himself "Rev." R.C. Sproul Jr.

Now after going to ministrywatchman dot com I find out that THE MAN himself Dr. Sproul Sr. is running an extremely corrupt organization that rips off other ministries like Don Kistler's Soli Deo Gloria Ministries.

Very disillusioning.

Brother, I wouldn't believe anything on the Watchman website anymore than I would believe anything on the Ligonier website. We shall know them by their fruits, and, to me, true or not, Ligonier Ministries has done much to spread the gospel and educate generations of Christians. Don't be disillusioned; be strong and courageous in the Lord and in what you have been taught.

I can't comment on what you've just learned, as what you've written is the first I've heard about it, but I'll say this:

I do believe he bought Soli Deo Gloria Ministries.

If the stories on ministrywatchman are to be believed, R.C. Sproul didn't buy Soli Deo Gloria Ministries. He defrauded Don Kistler and stole Soli Deo Gloria Ministries from him. Sproul recently gave SDG away to Joel Beeke's ministry, Reformation Heritage. "In 2007, Ligonier asked Reformation Heritage Books for guidance on managing Soli Deo Gloria Publications." All the bad press apparently forced Sproul to dump SDG, but not before he first fired Kistler from Ligonier. It's all very stinky.

I have a connection who knows both kistler&beeke&is well connected.According to him after soli's flood Ligonier agreed to take them on however afterRC's stroke&a decrease in donations ligonier deceided to downsize and modernize(podcasting,mp3s,pdf tabletalk samples,ect...) And when they did that it was a change in management and he was let go by the new staff for non-theological reasons.Many other people were also fired in the process and sdp was given to beeke.Kistler started Nhampton press.

There couldn't be any more appropriate rap for John Duncan who draws a very fat six figure salary for spending his days posting weird comments on blogs all over the internet. Ligonier Ministries' donors should know what their donations are being squandered on.
