Macs definitly heat faster than PCs. It's not because all the processors and motherboards and stuff like that have to coexist with the monitor-my Sony Vaio hasn't heated and I've used my Mac longer. This is probably the reason Macs sometimes lag.

How is Linux gonna help the battery problem? Last time I called tech support for a battery that was about to explode, was on a portable running Linux! And to be honest, I still wonder if it had something to do with the badly reverse engineered ACPI implementation... everything has it own failures, but I still think that osx is one of the best general purpose DESKTOP operating systems out there, at least if you require it to be UNIX based. Next in line are other BSD derived operating systems.

My mac runs OSX terribly, its slow, I get huge lagspikes when doing normal things, I get the Beach Ball Of Death almost every time i do something.

Now its running windows 7 via bootcamp, No Problems.
