Not to mention; June 6, 1944 is only the official date that America entered the European front, we had many military personnel as advisors AND combatants on the lend lease program with Great Britain. You can tell the Russian civilians didnt know what to think when they saw all those german prisoners marching down the road. Most Men in the German army were just victims of their own government as most military personnel were under a dictator, yet because their coward of a leader shot himself, they were pinned with the blame for his actions. I feel for those German soldiers, Im sure many of them were executed, the soviet government had no mercy for the Nazi uniform, regardless who was inside.

People comment on the horrible conditions of the Nazi Pows, and how the Soviet Union was just cruel to do this to them. When thought about, the Nazis created their own situations, for they burned the farms and deystroyed the infrastructure of the Soviet Union, leaving barely enough supplies for the Red Army in the beginning. The rats were lucky they were not just shot on sight, after what they did to the Soviet people.

After all those enormous sufferrings caused by the fascists, after the bloody battles, losses of loved ones... Look at the faces of russian civilians - no hatred, no anger, not a sign of malicious joy. Only severe SORROW. Most dignified. I think it is a sign of the Nation's power.

Well Im surprised, that you cant find, even on sovmusic, this song is very popular. Nevertheless this song comes from my CD called "Victory day" (Den Pobedy), published in 1995. If I remeber correctly I bought it last year, so it should be available. I hope that helped.

@xpd15 the USA jouned ww2 on December 8, 1941,The soviet union entered WW2 twice first in the Molitov and Von Rippentrop pact to attak poland fromm the east and then they got attaked by the nazis in june of 1941.The US entered in the war on December 1941,And if you add up the months the US Was out of the war for ~38 months wich is more like 2 years not 5.So if you add the two powers spent fighting the nazis the US is only late by 6 months.

second, please don't fling abuse at the Germans themselves. I think it is wrong to blame the Germans for this mess. Blame the Nazis, not the Germans. A lot of them were against fascism, but were too afraid to speak out, fearing the Gestapo. You probably would do the same from their position.

If the USSR was captured they would have ben able to conquer UK. Maybe the rest of the world as well. If USA didnt partisipate the war could have ben 6 years longer.

speedy135789 Roosevelt was a very good President. The US had a positive impact during the Second World War but their military impact in the conflict against Nazi Germany as such, was secondary. The USA played though the role of the economic industrial base of the liberal democracies. It is a really pity that Roosevelt was succeeded by somebody like Truman, a person that had no historical commitment to the antifascist alliance

Hmm, well though I'm sure that most those documented cases were filed by the KGB or Americans, I won't defend Himmler or the SS, especially the Allgemeine. The Heers were the soldiers of the German Wehrmacht. Regular army. They could be distinguished with a cockade/oakleaf wreath on their caps instead of the death's head skull worn by SS, as well as the iron eagle on their chest instead of sleeves like the SS. Also their collar tabs consisted of two lines sewn in different colors to show the soldier's job (White: Infantry, Blue: Medical, Light Green: Gebirgsjager/Snipers). The German soldiers shown marching in this video are Wehrmacht.

@eshcibibble How in the name of God can you say that? You Americans did not do one thing to help us on the Eastern Front. In fact when you in the West finally decided to do something with opening up a second front we were already pushing the Germans from out homeland and into Europe. So don't even think for one second that you Americans did a thing to actually help us. The only nations that actually helped us were the UK who sent us usable supplies, and France who sent some fighter pilots.

@eshcibibble Russia fought with Russian weapons, what little recieved were mainly raw materials, some planes, and radios. Uniforms, guns, tanks, etc were made by the Soviet people for the Soviet soldiers
