Why is it that when people here prosperity the first thing they think of is money? Jesus clearly did not suffer and die on the cross for you to be monetary rich. The prosperity he teaches is the heavenly prosperity which is what awaits all who are His children. A lot of those prosperity preachers believe that it is sin if you are poor and claim to be a child of God but they all forgot that Jesus said that there will be the poor among you, but also we should share what we have with the poor.

The Word Faith Movement in my opinion has the wrong view of God as it places trust in metaphysics as opposed to trust in God. It relies on a Universal Faith-Force that is in obedience to certain cosmic laws that God also must obey. God becomes something that can be manipulated through Positive Affirmation. Word Faith techniques such as Positive Confession and faith are not one in the same as it promotes ones own selfish desires.
Maybe the "big name" preachers are like that, but I know quite a few local pastors who call themself "Word of Faith", and they do NOT teach universalism.
This is why I get so mad when Donnie makes the statement that, "Anyone who teaches Jesus died Spiritually (suffered in Hell,) is Evil."
I know Word of Faith preachers who NEVER ask for offering, and refuse it when given, so its actually wrong to even "always" associate them with Prosperity message, but Swaggart don't care.
Like I said elsewhere, but it was removed, the only WoF preacher that I know of who is a universalist is Joel Osteen. Even among the prosperity preachers, they all teach Jesus is God and that he died for sin and the resurrection and so on.

I can say that I support people being rich (1 Tim 6:17, 1 Kings 3:13), but not to covet after money, but rather to search after faith and love. The best thing in my opinion,is to is to follow the directive of 1 Tim 6:6-8, that is being content.

Read that entire chapter please. Just a few verses earlier Jesus says "Woe to the rich", and in the paragraph that verse is in, it is obvious that He is talking about giving mercy and love and forgiveness, not giving money.

All I can say is that I will pray for you. It was not very long ago that I would have agreed with you 100%. It is only when I decided to look only to what Jesus and the apostles had to say about money throughout the whole New Testament, and then measured the whole sum of their teachings against prosperity doctrine that I could see the error. God did not save us from our Sin by sending his Son as a propitiation in our place. God saved us from the wrath of God. Why is it that when people here prosperity the first thing they think of is money? Jesus clearly did not suffer and die on the cross for you to be monetary rich. The prosperity he teaches is the heavenly prosperity which is what awaits all who are His children. A lot of those prosperity preachers believe that it is sin if you are poor and claim to be a child of God but they all forgot that Jesus said that there will be the poor among you, but also we should share what we have with the poor.

The Word Faith Movement in my opinion has the wrong view of God as it places trust in metaphysics as opposed to trust in God. It relies on a Universal Faith-Force that is in obedience to certain cosmic laws that God also must obey. God becomes something that can be manipulated through Positive Affirmation. Word Faith techniques such as Positive Confession and faith are not one in the same as it promotes ones own selfish desires.

Maybe the "big name" preachers are like that, but I know quite a few local pastors who call themself "Word of Faith", and they do NOT teach universalism.

Like I said elsewhere, but it was removed, the only WoF preacher that I know of who is a universalist is Joel Osteen. Even among the prosperity preachers, they all teach Jesus is God and that he died for sin and the resurrection and so on.
But like I said, there are many local WoF preachers who DO NOT even teach the prosperity message, and who even regularly REFUSE offerings.

I can say that I support people being rich (1 Tim 6:17, 1 Kings 3:13), but not to covet after money, but rather to search after faith and love. The best thing in my opinion,is to is to follow the directive of 1 Tim 6:6-8, that is being content.

well actually God gave u everything for ur success including the word of God. it is a sword of the Spirit right. if u have a need then why not use the word. as an e.g. there r ppl who sought God for a healing, a lot of ppl who were seeking God for healing said the same thing, God spoke to them audibly and told them "What does my Word say?" so they quoted the word of God and got healed they used the word to get healing, my mother did the same thing for her back and got healed after 14 yrs.

Yes the bible says that he causes those to love him to inherit substance, and other verses like that but there are also plenty other verses that say woe to the rich, be content, be happy with having just food and clothing, stuff like that. There has been unscripted usage to of verses in the bible to gain wealth. yes the bible says Give and {gifts} it will be given to, good measure...., shaken.. runneth over will men pour into {the pouch formed by} the bosom {of your robe and used as a bag}.

this argument has went a long ways. i thought i would through something in. The truth of the matter is that God does bless his people. But what has happened is that there has become a very dangerous and deadly imbalance in this teaching by many people. For a preacher to say that It's God will that everyone be rich is NOT SOUND DOCTRINE! Look at the life of Jesus, no he wasn't poor(as in a person of lack) but neither was he a rich man who lived lavishly. There is a balance in teaching everything.

Read that entire chapter please. Just a few verses earlier Jesus says "Woe to the rich", and in the paragraph that verse is in, it is obvious that He is talking about giving mercy and love and forgiveness, not giving money.

All I can say is that I will pray for you. It was not very long ago that I would have agreed with you 100%. It is only when I decided to look only to what Jesus and the apostles had to say about money throughout the whole New Testament, and then measured the whole sum of their teachings against prosperity doctrine that I could see the error. I hope you have the humility to do such a study yourself.
Afterall, if you are correct in your conclusions, the Word of God should only back them up,right?

I'm not going to argue with you. Just read Luke chapter 6, chapter 12, chapter 16, the book of 1 Timothy, the book of James, the first 3 chapters of Revelation, 1 and 2 Corinthians and the rest of the gospels as well.
If you can continue to believe as you do, without taking any verses out of context or twisting them by ignoring other verses, then power to you, go for it.
But test it against the Word of God for yourself. Don't just swallow every teaching that comes down the wire.

My treasure is not on this earth, neither am I to set my heart or mind on anything on this earth (Colossians 3:1-4, 1 John 2:15-17). I can't take money or wealth with me to heaven, they are of no eternal benefit to me unless I give them away to serve others. If I have food and clothing and shelter, I will be content with that. I want to be rich in good works, rich in love toward God and others, and rich in the Word of God. Most of the scriptures for this I have already given.

Word of Faith doctrine is theologically dishonest. Preaching on TBN is not the pinnacle of ministry.
