Yes there are a lot of ways to spy check, but quite a few people never use them. It's all about picking your battles. I just recently got 20 backstabs in one life because the attacking team thought 5 simultaneous heavies was a good idea. That kind of silliness lets spies just rack up kills.

another trick is that if your forced to approach them from the front never look at them directly, work around them in a strafing like way whatever you do don't look directly, 7 out of 10 times they wont catch you, sometimes shoot at you and pyro's a little paranoid with spy cheacking but if you act casual then occasionly they will just ignore you depending on how paranoid you make em, it's a complicated tactic but if you learn to do it, you can be more effective as a spy.
Interesting video. Yes, people nowaday are spycheck-horrors and they are too many fool-proof spycheck techniques (jarate, mad milk,...). But nice video and memoration of good ol' times. And one notice - on 8:58 you would be better off sapping from the roof (provided there are no enemies around that hut) bc the higher you are above sentry the longer sap range. And engi would waste precious time climbing that ladder to you.
@Torham0 Nowadays, you can tell who the good Spies are. Usually the noobs are the ones that go in without thinking and try backstab the first person they see which ends up as them getting killed.

@leethacks1 I can tell you these my self since I play both console and PC TF2, anyway First of all as the Video maker mentioned you cant walk through spies. Next you will notice them uncloaking in there team color. Also that a tele trail is there teams color and also that the spy if he is on fire he will have a faint team colored glow around them. I hope this quick list helps you out.
I enjoyed watching this, actually; but at 3:50 I think it was a bad idea to disguise as an Engi after you sapped all those buildings. A real Engi would've been removing those sappers but you were seen as an Engi just watching it all go down; a huge give-away right there. Although, the enemy team didn't realize this either and let you bust out.
3:50 instead of just hanging around and waiting, it would do better to take out your revolver and shoot the buildings, making quicker work and not risking getting ganked by the BLU players who love that side tunnel
i hate how everyone is now a spy expert meaning they always stab me though i am non challant andstay out of view till needed but some stupid pyro just keeps the fire button on!

If they look for you extensively enough, they'll find you. Sometimes, there is no point in cloaking. Sometimes it is just better to lose them another way.
Heh. I'm a pretty good spy myself. I don't use the disguise much. I just take out all the snipers, sap all turrets then let the rest of my team go on a rampage while I slip into the enemy base and run out as fast as I can as a scout.
1:07 (he'd have been instantly lit on fire for 10 seconds)
2:58 heavy would have blindly shot around by default (spychecking everything including sentry guns is the new thing on the block) and sap would have taken much longer and also at 3:50
6:10 as before all people mindlessly spin around and instapwn you or they would have kneejerked at the first stab.
6:55 pyro would have owned you just by flicking his mover over use for less than half a second.
With his butterfly knife, cloak and deadly revolver(s), he can both outsmart and kill almost every player. The spy is also a luck class. Sometimes, no matter how skilled, tactical, whatever, you won't be able to even touch your enemies that spychecks every single second. (Thats why he got the knife)
If you're looking for skill, (aiming, etc.) use the other classes, except for heavy and the engineer, they are mostly the easiest classes and hardest.
What I don't get is why there's no new unlockable sapper for spy o3o

headshot with the ambassador and if the other team see u either I fake death, kill the one or retreat and headshot even more :)

If they look for you extensively enough, they'll find you. Sometimes, there is no point in cloaking. Sometimes it is just better to lose them another way.

Heh. I'm a pretty good spy myself. I don't use the disguise much. I just take out all the snipers, sap all turrets then let the rest of my team go on a rampage while I slip into the enemy base and run out as fast as I can as a scout.

You're good, but really, your targets are really noob. Like the scout standing still, that (should) never happen(s), or the pyro's not spychecking.

What the enemy does is attack even teammates just to test if you're a disguised spy or not... so... ain't too easy.

Spots he would have died today
1:07 (he'd have been instantly lit on fire for 10 seconds)
2:58 heavy would have blindly shot around by default (spychecking everything including sentry guns is the new thing on the block) and sap would have taken much longer and also at 3:50
6:10 as before all people mindlessly spin around and instapwn you or they would have kneejerked at the first stab.
6:55 pyro would have owned you just by flicking his mover over use for less than half a second.

The spy is a rather tactical class.
With his butterfly knife, cloak and deadly revolver(s), he can both outsmart and kill almost every player. The spy is also a luck class. Sometimes, no matter how skilled, tactical, whatever, you won't be able to even touch your enemies that spychecks every single second. (Thats why he got the knife)
If you're looking for skill, (aiming, etc.) use the other classes, except for heavy and the engineer, they are mostly the easiest classes and hardest.
