Here is the thing, Brazil dont speak spanish and neither bachada and salsa is a culture here.. So no Caribbean dancing style in Brazil.. Just a tip...
I just wanted to let you know that a new website, Maroond.com, is starting a travel video contest. The videos should be short , around 5 minutes, and should highlight a place you know very well and that you enjoy. There is a prize for the top videos, but the real point is to have fun explaining why your place is the place to be ; )
i've been in rio,ipanema,copacabana..but is not so fun, they;ve stollen our luggage first in airport, after with the things on the beach, they dissapear, all the time they try to cheat us with the price, etc. you cant even wear a wach on you hand... beautiful country ,shit peaople. that 's all !!!!! worst experience i ever had.
wow do not genaralizate our people. People from south Brazil are very different from people from Rio. People from south are more educated. The south is very different from Rio indeed. Cold, more clean and field with tall trees. You are just another ignorant person in this world controlled by the midia and first-impressions.
hey, i am not just another ignorant person, this was my opinion of what i've seen in Rio. I do not generalize, of course are also people educated and different then in rio. what can i say? i really had a bad experience :(
@kmy381, you just don't need to share your hate or bad experiences by genaralizating our people. Do you know how many people in here are good, honest, well educated? A lot. You could have said instead, I've met some horrible people.. such a bad luck. Because I got cheated in Washingnton DC by 2 taxi cabs, by indian people inside their store, and many bad thing happened to me, but I still do not judge everyone based on what I've seen from those people. They were assholes, not the enterily US.
Another dumbass illiterate moron does a video about something he/she thinks it knows (but has never visited) and then ends up putting Caribbean salsa/merenge were it should be bossa nova, samba or even Brazilian funk.
Visit Brazil yourself before posting such a clueless lame videos.
What's next, add footage about rum and present it as cachaça? :P
PS: And i'm not even Brazilian, but i've been there enough time to know what i'm talking about...
This video mistakenly begins with a wrong soundtrack. This is NOT Brazilian music.
Secondly, those gay flags... OMG, they are just a tiny, tiny portion of the Brazilian population. It clearly is a subtle advertising piece with a goal to attract gay people to visit Rio. Its is naive to think that 7 million people spend the day leisurely on the beach.
I just got back from Rio... people were VERY hospitable, very eager to help. Nothin was everything was cheap except mixed drinks. Definitely not all gay people but a good mixture of everyone. Amazing City!
The problem is: tourists come to a Brazilian city already with this prejudice, this wrong idea about Brazil and some of them don't change their mind because it's easier to stick with what people say about Brazil than to see for themselves and create their own concept. When you visit a Brazilian city, you don't get to see all sides of Brazil. You may see a piece of it. Don't generalize. It's just my opinion.

Once again false advertisement about Rio, Fooling people to go and waste money visiting this terrible, very inhospitable, overpriced slum they call Rio de Janeiro.
yeah! The music could be good in a video about Caribbean places, but brasilian music is really different :( If you want to show Ipanema, put Samba, if you want to show Salvador, put Axé or Olodum, If you want to show Olinda/Recife, put Frevo, if you want to show Ceará, put Forró, if you want to show Goiânia, put Sertanejo and ETC... ;D
indeed not some cheap rumbaaa from dom.! mayb petro brazil can pony up some obama money from their deep water oil drilling and hook them up with good music!
Often videos about Brazil have mistakes. Many videos have music and rhythms of other countries. I like it, I respect other rhythms and cultures, but these songs don't represent brazilian culture, music, songs, heritage...
the best place in the WORLD! Ihave travelled everywhere in the world and just came back from Rio...all I can say is: IPANEMA is the most beautiful place I have been, and the girls...ohhh my goood...no comments!!

This video maker never heard that Samba and Bossa Nova are THE brazilian music. Or maybe he thinks merengue and samba are the same thing, and spanish and portuguese language are the same too.

The music has nothing to do with Brazil. You have so many choices... samba, bossa-nova, phunk carioca, samba-rock....
