  • Weezer did A LOT better...

  • who can play the solo? ^^

  • @kotdrauf I do :D

  • @billatordpein

    tabs and video pls xD

  • muy bueno

  • nice knickers

  • Weezer > This.

  • this i think is QUITE a bit more interesting than a lot of what falls under the hard rock/metal banner now, lyrically and musically...i also like what i have heard of the later album with vai .

  • 14 people need to be cast-away to an island with no sun.

  • why the r u comparing alcatrazz who got a great singer and a great guitarist to a nerdy crapy band its everyone knows that graham bonnet was with rainbow b4 forming with alcatrazz youdon't have god taste in music sweet nlowe

  • this band was awesome!

  • yeah......this is nowhere near as good as Weezer's song Island In The Sun. This is pretty ridiculous, but then again almost all 80's metal is lol. These guys are a lot better than a lot of 80's metal bands though I'll give them that.

  • Whoa, one of the worst bands ever.

  • @KingCrimson776 you obviously have no taste

  • weezer sucks cock they can never amount to the legacy of 80s rock PERIOD!

  • Man...earthquake? Graham Bonnet y Yngwie Malmsteen? That in itself is a catastrophic Tsunami!

  • oh 80's rock

  • I'm ready to take a shitload of thumbs down but... what the fuck is this shit?

I find weezer much better than this.

  • @dominic14061995 you possibly dont play guitar. this band mostly is popular to malmsteen fans as he is one of the most recognizable guitar players in history

  • @dominic14061995 ha ha! weezer the nerds band

  • Omg Yngwie Malmsteen !!

  • Graham Bonnet's vocal prowess is legendary, he sang for Ritchie Blackmore and Michael Schenker two of the greatest guitar players of all time. I've had the privilege of seeing them jam in concert together. Yngwie is good also but sometimes it sounds like he's stuck in a rut (solo stuff).

  • alcatraz >> >>>.... > weezer

  • Bonnet's probably the best singer ever. His wail is epic. Listen to that note he hits at 3:47. Unbelievable.

  • @CuriosityRoads check out rob halford in judas priest's one shot at glory, the vocals are just incredible at some points

  • Love this album and line up! Vid reminds me of Scorpions vid for No One Like You!

  • lol Graham Bonnet is the Barny Stinson of the 80's :D

  • I dont give a damn what they say, this is a great song, and Bonnet is a big vocalist.

  • Wow, this is cheesy and bizarre. And just plain weird.

What were these guys thinking? I guess it was just the 80's.

  • @yourmom468 Yes

  • My favorite Alcatrazz song.

  • I would escape any jail for those tits

  • @sasa649 You know brother!

I hope Graham got to tap that ass!

  • ok, Yngwie has his place in guitar history but, that solo does NOT fit the song.

  • When it comes to live, Bonnett sang flat 80% of the time. When he's on pitch it's fine, but just listen to "since u been gone" live and others...it hurts my ears!!!

  • @jroach96 maybe the rainbow version would be more to your liking

  • Holy shit! it's Scott Weiland's dad!!

  • @jroach96 STFU Troll.... Graham Bonnet isn't Scott Weiland's father !

do you have a birth certificate which backs your comment up ?

  • @Freyja1133 Wow!!! Chill the FUCK OUT!!!! It was a total joke. I worry about people like you out there in the world!

  • @jroach96 I know that it was a joke I was playing along with you

  • @Freyja1133 Oh...now you say that...after all this time...Please. Just "don't" anymore. It's done.

  • When this came out, nobody had ever played the guitar like this. Most metal guitarists were Eddie Van Halen clones, but then Yngwie started a new revolution and the Yngwie clones started appearing. Some people said that Yngwie was a Blackmore clone but that was because they were not really listening. Yes, he looked & dressed like Blackmore, and even acted like him, but his playing was very different.

But sadly, Yngwie can't play this good anymore and probably never will again.

  • @felix3840 I Agree with you Felix

If he hadn't have had that accident, he'd still be playing like this

  • Nobody can think Graham Bonnet sucks. You'd die if you did...I'm sure. He's a powerhouse and always will be. One of the greats!

  • @dbjames777 the only one who sucked as a vocalist thankfully now is dead... Kevin Dubrow

  • @Freyja1133

    Bad troll is bad.

  • haha why the hell are they in jail

  • @mickiew4 because the video was shot on alcatraz island & in the maximum security prison

  • @mickiew4 Maybe the band Alcatrazz was incarcerated for plagiarizing songs written by other musicians. And it wasn't just jail. It was a supermax prison. Maybe a lot of fans complained about Graham Bonnet struggling to hit the right notes in concert, but that isn't a crime. Neither is Yngwie's excessive wanking, but that didn't become an issue until after he went solo.

  • @Jefgg

    die.

  • 詳しい事も全く知らないまま

    FMラジオで聴いたのをきっかけにして聞き出し

    当時かなりハマってました。

    実力者揃いのバンドだったんですね。

  • Malmsteen with ukulele :)))

  • Graham Bonnet, is a sucky singer! You can hear him go flat in this song. Pretty pathetic, can't even stay in key on a freaking studio recording. His live shows were 100 times worse.

  • なつかひ~

  • yngwie plays with the heart

  • There's something very candid about this video. It's not like all the slick vid's of today and most times Bonnet looks quirky or they kept shots of his bad side. Lol, I'll tell ya'll the stuff that most think is cheesy is gold, as most follow what others think. This video is CLASSIC!!!! Kudos

  • @aaronbergAPB i fuckin agree dude.bonnet and yngwie rule!

  • @rotru68 Yeah, music will NEVER be he same. There are HUGE changes for the better coming for all, but it wont be classic, it'll be modern and yet still extremely powerful. I will be there, it's coming. apb

  • @aaronbergAPB This is a ripoff of the Scorpions No on like you video, except he wakes up and looks at the real Alcatrazz!

  • @careypeak23 the only difference between the two videos..no one like you wasn't shot on alcatraz island at all....only in a nightmare squence

Klaus Meine was in a hotel room which was across the bay

Island in the sun was shot on alcatraz island& in the prison ...( which has been closed for over 30 years)

  • LOVE!

  • 2:34 i loled

  • me too! lol i always laugh cuz i think of how much of a WTF moment it would be if you were in death row and you saw the priest being followed by a guitarist hahaha

  • yeah also look at the guitar

  • Hey guys. You know what? I think if you click on that long box at the top of the page, you know next to the YOUTUBE logo, I think, you can actually type certain text in there, like say Weezer, and actually get Weezer videos. I know it's like magic. When you are done if you pull down real hard on your head by the back of your neck and open your mouth you might actually be able to . . .

  • This is a jam and a half! Weezer is the biggest joke since the fucking clowns known as the red hot chili peppers.

  • fuck weezer this is the SHIT!!!

  • @tmh1717 totaly agree xD how many people searh the weezaer song and found this holy master piece

  • @tmh1717 fuck u weezer brought 99.9% of people to this song cause they arn't washed up old one hit wonders

  • @bakergates13 U Mad Bro?

  • @tmh1717 Here i am taking a massive Yngwie and Bonnett O.D. when a funny thing happened. I wanted to see what wikipedia had to say about this song just for shits and laughs. Got an entry for the weezer song instead. I couldn't help but reflect, reading your and the below comment, that there is one and only one that perfectly describes rivers cuomo- Twat. That said, this song always makes me think about quitting my job and moving to Thailand, which is what such righteousness ought to do.

  • Friggin barmy video but I like da song!!

  • God I love YouTube! Where else are you going to find old videos of great bands like this. Not MTV or VH1...

  • I hear ya... MTV used to be cool when I was much younger haha.. In fact this particular vid was my first introduction to Yngwie. I still rmbr me and my bandmates hearing/watching this and going.. "Whoa! listen to this fuckin' guy play!"

  • The first time I saw this video was on VH1 Metal Mania.

  • @12cranei I saw this video when it was played in heavy rotation on MTV

This was before certain people of color started to whine about the abscence of video which cater to the balcks on MTV

  • @dannyjingu vh1 classic still shows these videos

The original headbangers ball is on that chanel

  • I dont think that weezer's island in the sun is the same thing. I think its a different song that just happens to have the same name. I think...

  • because he is him. grahm bonnet the accedental metal singer

  • yes dude, it's Graham Bonnet.

  • Hot chorus chicks, and jailers except for the chubby one..

  • Nah. It's the chubby one that you like the most. Don't lie!

  • Oh, man!! Thank God the priest wasn't able to exorcize Yngwie's Rising Force. Thank you for sharing this rarity, lester73.

  • @pashedmotatos so you hate Graham Bonnet.....you don't even know him,or met him in the least...don't hate someone before you get to know him

  • This is one of Yngwies many AOR songs...god Yngwie is good at AOR. I wish he played this style more than Neoclassical Metal.

  • metal,this isn't AOR ! that's what REO Speedwagon Became...This is straight up metal

  • Comment removed

  • It's so cheesy and bad quality ... I love it!!!

  • agreed!

  • In this video polices are....So sexy...

  • ANDRES FROM COLOMBIA. THANK YOU lester73

  • fuck YOU!

  • Isn't Rivers Cuomo a big Yngwie Malmsteen (the guitarist in this song) fan? I heard he was.

  • well, Wikipedia says that he is named in the Pinkerton booklet.

we know he likes Frehley and Van Halen, so it would make sense that he would like Yngwie as well

  • Rivers was on the cover of Guitar World some years ago wearing a Yngwie shirt and stated he was a big fan in the interview

  • aaaaaa 80s........ wish i have been born in the 80s

  • @cucollins12 you would've had to have been born in the 70s to enjoy 80s metal

If you would've been born in the 80s ,you'd have missed it

  • Flat-out awesome...

  • yep.

    so catchy.

  • funny, I had no clue this video even existed until the dudes from That Metal Show brought it into the Metal Mania rotation last night... the video....a "cheesy low-budget 80's metal video" sure, but that's what rocks most about it!...lol... and the song's just perfect... even kinda makes ya wanna hop on the next flight to somehwere sunny and tropical.. great vocals and, of course, GREAT guitarwork with Yngwie as part of the lineup for that short while... all in all, a VERY underrated classic!

  • Simply loving Mr Bonnet and Mr Malmsteen

  • Anybody who thinks Graham Bonnet is a bad singer knows nothing about singing, or music. He is a monster vocalist.

I personally find the low-budget videos from the early 80s to be fun, and nostalgic. And Yngwie was, is, and always shall be a guitar god.

  • id say him and eddie van halen are about neck - a - neck, think about it yngwie has the speed of 3 olympic swimmers but eddie makes up for it because of his long tapping solos and amazing sound

  • Also it's important to listen to the first VH albums to understand just how good ED was back then. It was a lot more than just "tapping" etc.. Live? They were just ok if not very good.. but those studio albums REALLY showed what an ambidextorous genius Ed was. No reason to really compare the 2 here.. Thanx to the poster of this vid.. this was my first hearing of Yngwie back in the early MTV days..

    Peace!

  • You're right in that you can't compare Yngwie with Eddie they are totally different

  • yeah they are totally different... yngwie's so much better, that's the difference. eddie just does a lot of hammer-ons

  • but eddie's a school, yngwie's not and never will, though he's great

  • @myles2307 yeah,he is ..if you want to get stuck laying nothing but Hammer on..be my guest!

  • thank you.

  • @ambariel Graham Bonnet is overshadowed by Steve Perry,Lou Graham, and Bruce Dickenson. He could never pull it off live.

  • @ambariel i feel the same way about videos from the 80s i love how even with a low budget it can still be a great video thats not in the least bit boring :)

  • @ambariel I Agree with you..I even sing alcatrazz material myself

  • @ambariel I think he's a bit too high in the mix :(

  • @ambariel

Amen, couldn't say it better love the 80's

Sadly, never lifed at this time

  • Dave, leave Styx out of your crack...maybe you should leave the closet..before someone outs you

  • Hmmmmmm.. don't recall bringing up dick sizes...seems you have a bit of the big gay cock love on the brain. It's okay, Andy. Just step away from the keypad (tucked snug in the corner of your Mom's basement next to her unused sewing machine), take a look at your Ron Keel poster, have a prolonged closet-case wank to your hair metal poser icon while listening to Van Hagar's "Dreams", then sleep tight. U need 2 be fresh and alert when I place my b-fast order to you tomorrow at MickeyD's.

  • Not everyone who has a record deal deserves one. Keel was AMAZING. Tears Of Fire, Don't Say You Love Me, Because The Night, they had so many great songs. I'm sure your the one who blows big dicks. You started bringing up dicksucking and dick sizes when no one was talking about them FAGGOT!!!

  • Yngwie didn't exactly unleash the fury on this song. He just let it run around the back yard. He was very young at the time. This is an underrated song by a pretty much forgotten band. Graham Bonnet was a good singer, but had a reputation for being difficult. Maybe that is why he worked with a lot of great guitar players, but never for more than one album. I read an old interview with Yngwie. The only person he slammed was Graham Bonnet.

  • Hey Freyja1133. Your face is an abomination.

  • clicking tongue... How can you say that before you've seen a picture of me?

  • Psst, Yngwie ...you sweet looking viking...Here's something for you

A box with a home made cake with a nail file in it!

  • Kevin Dubrow was the pseudo vocalist who had a voice that Grated on my nerves! if you want to listen to the first abomination, try Quiet Riot!

  • This is a very underrated song.

  • You should listen to Graham Bonnet with Chris Impelliteri. Impelliteri was amazing

  • You are so right I have it and love it.

  • I will agree that Ron Keel WAS a fucking abomination. A talentless hack, and no big shock he ended up doing country music years later; the guy sold the property rights to his butthole in an attempt to become famous, jumping from band to band, lineup to lineup, and never made it. Fair enough, because he sucked. Best thing he ever did was front a band Yngwie used as a stepping stone to get HIS name out there instead of Ron's. The band was fucking named Keel, fer christs sakes!

  • What does Ron Keel have to do with this band? He had his own band at the time. Yes, Yngwie and Ron Keel were in Exciter and that is it.

  • Steeler man, STEELER xD.

  • @breadior1971 Steeler

  • hey terrwatt69, Keel was awesome. At least they had a record deal. Can you do better. NO!

  • terry try steeler

  • what 's the matter terry? Jealous?

  • Might just be my ears, but virtually everything I've heard Graham do...I dunno...it sounds like he's just constantly straining, and has to shout rather than sing at times because so many of the tunes seem out of his range. It was the case in Rainbow, and continued with Alcatrazz. There was that quality with the studio work, but even more so live, where he was continually struggling to sing in key. Not much of a lyricist, either. How in the hell DID he end up playing w/ high-caliber guitarists?

  • Catchy tune and one of my favorite by Alcatrazz. I didn't know about Yngwie until 85' when I was talking to a friend and said that I thought Rik Emmett was the most underrated guitarist and he said it was Yngwie Malmsteen. I got his debut record and I was blown away.

  • Yup... Captain Malmsteen will do that to ya.

  • SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

  • I just saw this video on vh1 Metal Mania and suddenly i heard a solo that sounded like Yngwie Malmsteen and a looked at the tv and couldn't believe that was Yngwie

you can recognize his playing anywhere, and thats the first time i saw him use a Flying V

    Yngwie ROCKS!

  • haha dude that happened to me too..i was in the other room and was like, wait a minute, i only know one guy who shreds like that haha and sure enough it was him

  • sailll away in the island in the sun. i started listening to this song when i found the "live sentence" record in the parents closet, and loved it. great album too

  • I love the chicks in this video. They are prison guards, swimsuit models and backup singers.

  • Great voice.

  • thats chinaman's hat @ 2:09

its located off the island off oahu

    which is in hawaii

  • What an amazing video. Did not know a record company spent that much money on them. Graham Bonnet is the king of rock!

  • This video makes me laugh. I love when the drummer is walking down the hallway playing the air drums.

  • Yngwie who? Yngwie F###ing Malmsteen, That's who!

  • man i really want this mp3 but i cant find it ANYWHERE! any help?

  • VladGLX, I hunted for this MP3 for a LONG time, finally found it on LW.

  • I Love Graham Bonnets voice. RAINBOWS DOWN TO EARTH LP was prob one of the greatest of all time...

  • Malmsteen reminded me of Ritchie Blackmore at the time. Of course, Yngwie played circles around him, but they both had a cool "gothic" feel to their playing. Every kid I knew that played guitar, including myself, locked ourself in the bedroom trying to play arpeggios and shred. I still suck at it!

  • NOBODY played circles around Blackmore... have you ever listened to stargazer ?

  • You don't need to tell me about Blackmore. I own every album, my first concert, I own one of his guitars, and know damn near every Purple/Rainbow tune. Blackmore cannot play the stuff Yngwie can. Ritchie can shred, but not in the same league as Malmsteen.

  • Yngwie! Yngwie! Yngwie!!! & Ron Keel??? hahaha

  • Well, that's Graham Bonnet, who was just as bad as Keel... lol... but Yngwie just kicks ass here

  • Bonnet was much better than Keel! Ron Keel was an abomination!

  • Aria Pro II Flying V from Japan.

  • You wish that you were the bass player...

Someone should ride your "A". :O

  • I remember this video on the "real" MTV way back when. I was blown away by Malmsteen then, because no one had seen "that kind of guitar" before. Very cool song!

  • Exactly fxe1200, that's the way I rmbr it too, we were all like.. "Who the fuck is this guy?"

I mean, he sounded like Al Di Meola yet with a Strat and playing hard rock stuff... Cool Times..

  • this is song rocks, yngwie kicks asss
