@berriescarriesme You are not right. If you are using it in frases like "Please, do something!", "pa-ZHAL-sta"=please. But if you are use it after someone told you "Thank you!", you also answer: "pa-ZHAL-sta". This time it means: "You are welcome!".
@MickeyLove01 In russian it will be: "Помогите мне, я тупой американец, который даже не может найти Россию на карте и который думает, что там даже летом есть снег. "
@Karen41872 actually plenty of languages have cases- Latin, icelandic, Sanskrit, Greek. Oriyan/Orissan,Tamil, Sinhalese and plenty more have a reduced form of cases such as Arabic, German, and all indo0aryan languages,
the title is misleading. i thought it was going to be words like if you see alien space reptiles descending over your house or how to scare off burglars with scary russian words.
ахахаха! огонь! ща уссусь! эти долбоёбы реально же будут думать, что тут эти фразы понадобятся! сука, в России каждый даун знает слова "hello" и "thank you", а фраза "где находится ванная комната?" для шлюх предназначена. пиздос, короче!)))))
kak- it`s ''how'' but if you ask the name(what`s your name) it`s also used ''kak''( kak tebea zavut) russian is considered one of the hardest languages. but i speak it from childhood, it seems easy for me))) it`s very nice.
@ZaykaDevil i got a question then. "excuse me" and "your welcome" are the same words in russian. so how do u specify which one you are meaning to say? how will the other person your speaking to tell the difference?
@OpAbzolute . hmmm, i think it`s like in another languages. there are the same words, which have different meanings. depends on the context. if you have quations about russian, i`ll be glad to answer)
im pure russian but my grandparents moved to america during soviet times so we just said "fuck you hope u freeze ur ass off" and moved to florida and i got a nice tan
kahk means, for example: "Kahk Deyla?" Means "how are you?". so really kahk means like.... "how?" i guess. but the russian language is much different than english so 'kahk' could mean a few different things that are linked together by similar definitions. :)
@MORGE2481 I'll never understand that... english is pretty easy and my main language is russian and I have no idea why I lived in ukrain my language is 100% like russian and its pretty easy but for me...
and im sorry, no body from canada has any right to make fun of Russia, i mean not only is it pathetic, but you came from the french, the freakin french! go export some maple syrup ya dirty canadian
talk about immaturity, you seem to forget this is the country that had americans terrified of nuclear warfare for 40 years, and is still rediculously powerful.
@BellamyCatherine Whoa, a two year old comment? "зовут" actually is the third person plural form of the verb "звать," which is to call. Are you a native speaker? Your last sentence is incorrect, it translates to "I am called Katya (Kate)" OR "My name is Katya."
@rsguy9 :)))))) You've just said the same thing, but in other words (more correct for English-speakers, may be). My native language is Russian, but not English. So may be I've expressed the idea not in the best words.
@BellamyCatherine Haha :) my native language is Russian as well, but I have been speaking English for pretty much my whole life. Well, you were correct to an extent, but yes, mine was the "scientific" and proper way to explain it. But I'm sure you know what you were talking about :)

pa-ZHAL-sta should be rather pronounced as pa-ZHAL-oo-ee-sta because it is written as such :-) Why 'YN' is there if it is not pronounced?
em3377 1 year ago
@em3377 The correct pronunciation is "pa-zhal-uj-sta", and making it shorter makes it an informal variant.
