Pat Metheny is a master at the gregorian, latin, and afro cuban compositional chant. His musicianship is truly one of a kind. His music is classically timeless. Damn, the Pat Metheny group was, is and always will be BAD!
This is a wonderful mix of an exotic melody, with fantastic harmonies over a driving killer rhythm! I remember this Pat Metheny tune from years back and it's great to hear it again!
Well ,women have to be a little fucked up sir...otherwise we all wouldnt be here! all said...why dont you just enjoy the music? One of my favorite pieces by this group FANTASTICO!
Hondadog8..right back @ you. Hope your holidays were blessed, treasured...enjoyable.
Being a single, 57 year old guy, not presently in any relationship, mine was uneventful. Sad-to-Say...
But the purpose of my sending this to you isn't to garner sympathy. Far from it! I've had my share of women, and have, sadly come to this conclusion: They're all fucked-up!
Okay, sexest politics outta' the way, now Oops. I'm being ommitted!
You are obviously into some really great musicians. I only wish I could have seen Antonio Carlos Jobim in concert before he passed away. I'm thankful that his music lives on.
I first saw the Pat Metheny group at a FREE concert on the beach in Miami. Also on stage that day was Michael Franks. Man, it doesn't get any better than that.
When i was younger I didn't understand what was goin on in this beautiful music... but i knew it was as close 2 perfect as i've ever heard... and i 1st heard this played on a Buffalo jazz radio station... but didn't kno who this wonderful group was... so i'd wait 4 it 2 come on each night b/c remember this was pre internet and if u didn't catch the name u were basically screwed...haha anyways... now in my late 30's i can finally do this music justice...thx 4 this awesome video Chileanskies!!!!
I remember when I had a jazz radio show about the time this album came out--I listened to this very tune for first time and was hooked to Pat's music. I even played it occasionally on air and would almost always have someone call me and ask, "who is that"? True story. Additioanlly, I absolutely love the brazilian rift to it. Just an awsome tune.
Yes it's great! First time I've heard this too, which is a surprise to me, since I've been listening to PMG for a few years now. The first piano interlude reminded me a little of what Herbie does on Reggae over 9.
Point of clarification the synth driver guitars are not being made anymore by roland. Pat has two I belive. Roland does make synth driver pickups that can be placed on almost any guitar. Newer pickups also have less pins for the midi hook up. Take care tderrell7
Close your eyes, then imagine yourself being transported on the celestial railway aboard the magnificent universal space train!First stop the galaxy of The Qeriorixians of the khewa system.A tour of all of it's heavenly and majestic planets and witness all of it's gloriful and visually stunning landscapes it's saphire mountains and its awesome towering monolith as well as the derudian lakes of pure energy that cascades into a nova waterfall over the sacred mountain of Saru!appreciate Teamac
Those folks in the crowd got a rare treat,I have been to at least 10 PMG concerts going back to the secret story tour, and have never seen them perform this classic track.Great Post!

I really believe that he is in tune with God when he writes and plays. his music is out of this world.

You're right. Few know of the soothing, melodic sounds resultant from Michael Franks' "pipes"! I commend your musical tastes.
Though, I might make a suggestion to "better-the-show".
Antonio Carlos Jobim would be the icing-on-the-cake!!!
Happy holidays, my friend.
