  • John 14:6 is the end there are no more Prophets YOU ARE ALL DECEIVED TO A SAD POINT GOD . So did Jesus! Awake please you good people.

  • im tony lene. this inspirational message have had touched me.i understand that prayer is the only way for us to connect with our powerful heavenly father.its not only prayer that we can communicate with our heavenly father .we can always pray vocally meanin songs.songs can really bring that emotional feeling of wanting to serve the lord with all my heart , mind and soul.pray always that you may come off conquer. thank you ....

  • Look at the youtube video of "Jesus Christ in Chile (Signs before the Second Coming)"

  • Do something. Stop wasting your time talking to yourself.

  • Don't get me wrong, 'logic' is a ver good thing, but it's nothing when talking of the strictly spiritual.

  • The spirit bore witness to me that it is the word of God (the Book of Mormon). How? I cannot explain. Spiritual truth can only be understood spiritually. Many continue to argue with 'logic', 'opinion', and 'hearsay'.let it go.

  • I'am an exmormon the mormon is not Christian the book of mormon does not belong to the bible

  • Yes this is so true.

  • There is none like You-Jesus! No one else can touch my heart like you do! I could search for all eternity long, and find there is none like you!

  • I'm grateful that He listens when I talk. I've never had more meaningful conversations with anyone.

I wish that everyone knew and believed that this is possible. Well, I guess I'll go keep sharing that message.

  • He has such an inspired way of saying what i need to hear. I have noticed that as I get out the habit of saying my prayers the less meaningful they become. I hope to one day come close to the way Christ said his prayers.

  • Beautiful.

  • Great video...thanks for posting...

  • i know prayers are answered in the Lords time....

  • It seems that it doesn't matter what anyone says in the defense of the church because just another argument will start. I would invite anyone who wants to argue or that is not a member of the church to read the Book of Mormon, and not with your mind but with your spirit, and to pray to know if it is true, because if it is then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints/ the Mormon church is true....and when you find that out, find two men dressed in white with name tags and learn more

  • The Father has given Jesus the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord... Jesus said, He and the Father were one, that if you had seen him , you have also seen the Father... Jesus said, before Abraham , I AM....Jesus is God, and prayers if they are heard, must be done in Jesus' name..While your sect is sincere, you all are sincerely Wrong...You need a King James Bible and Get to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior''

  • hey if you are commenting on this video it should actually be a comment about the videl not how much you hate the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are no church of man but of God.

  • @KortKati If the Mormon Church is registered with the State, the State has 100% jurisdiction over the Mormon Church. That means Jesus Christ has 0% jurisdiction over the Mormon Church. Consequently, it is the Church of man.

  • I'm a member of the LDS church, I know in my heart that it's true, but I don't spend my time researching other religions just to try to prove that they're "wrong". Whatever your religion is, that's your business. It makes me sick to know that people of other religions have books and articles in their homes that try to discredit what others believe in. So, instead of wasting your time worrying about other people, concentrate on your beliefs, not others'.

  • @Brea890 AMEN!

  • @Brea890 I AGREE WITH YOU TO A POINT .TO EACH THEIR OWN BUT WHEN MISSIONARIES CAME TO MY DOOR TELLING ME THAT I DON'T BELONG TO GOD'S CHURCH AND THE ONLY WAY FOR ME AND MY DAUGHTER WOULD BE ABLE TO WALK WITH GOD IN HEAVEN IS TO BECOME LDS ',BELIEVE IN THE BOOK OF MORMON ,BELIEVE THAT JOSEPH SMITH RESTORED THE CHURCH AND BELIEVE IN MODERN DAY PROPHETS. WELL ISN'T THAT INVADING UPON MY BELIEF'S AND FAITH?YOU DON'T SEE ME GOING KNOCKING ON THEIR DOORS TELLING THEM THEY ARE WRONG.

  • @IRISHBUDDAFILTH I completely agree with you, but I'm sure that the missionaires weren't rude about it, and if they were, I apologize on behalf of them. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience like that. But the point of my comment was that I don't research other religions to discredit them. I stick to my business and what I know to be true. If other's don't want to hear my views, then that's okay.

  • @Brea890 thats my point.i believe in what i believe in. i dont go door trying to get people to join my church because their church isn't Gods true church and that my bible isn't sufficient because it wasnt translated correctly .I have a strong belief in my bible and I think it spells it out for me. they asked me to read the B O M and pray about it and to research the teachings of the prophets of the church. well I wont get into what I think of it so God bless!!!

  • @Brea890 Well said, with that said please tell your church to stop sending Mormon missionaries knocking door to door trying to sell your brand of religion. It does indeed make me sick when I hear these mormon salesman tell me that I must be baptised into the Mormon Church in order to get into Heaven and any other baptisms done outside are not valid because they don't have the true authority from God which supposedly only Mormons are lucky enough to have.

  • this is true,,,we should Pray always through our hearts at all time.

  • The religion wreck is going down, get out before you drown.

  • I am grateful for the times that my prayers have been answered. When they "have not" I know it is simply because I have not been listening or must wait longer for the answer to come. However, I know that God hears and answers ALL prayers!

  • MiTT Romney Will be PresiDent in 2013>>>

  • @FireYourJOB Mitt Romney or any other Mormon shall never be president of the United States. We Americans don't like you Mormons forcing your religion upon us. Proposition 8 demonstrates that you Mormons attempted to force your religion upon Homosexual Americans. I repeat Mitt Romney or any other Mormon shall never be president of the United States.

  • What a beautiful and inspired message. I really needed the encourage I felt from this video today, to come closer to my Heavenly Father. Thank You.

  • @mytv80 no remnants what so ever would make it the biggest hoax of all time and the LDS liars...

  • @61MAF Yes you are right..that is exactly what the Mormon Cult is all about!

  • scribd (dot) com/nb812

  • this makes me look forward to prayer as a precious opportunity. simple, clear, and inspiring.

  • Biblical archaeology can be studied because we do know where Jerusalem and Jericho were and are, but we do not know where Zarahemla and Bountiful (nor any location for that matter) were and are...a concentration on geography would be the first order of business, but we have already seen that twenty years of such an approach has left us empty handed."

Dialogue, op. cit. Summer 1969, pp. 77-78. Mormon Archaeologist Professor Dee. F. Green.

  • Haha even funnier an LDS apologist saying I'm "trolling" way funny shit. Few Mormons even trust them. Gee golly gee where is Cumorah and what is the capitol city called? Uhm Moroni. Haha Mormons don't even recognize simple geography like that found on maps today and maps JS had. Keep believing we all get a white rock that is fine with me as for me and mine we will follow Mamma Smith and stick with the Abbraccadabra circles and such. Mormons seriously people wake the hell up.

  • Haha Some Mor(m)on wants my ward and stake information so they can tattle tale on me and get ,me into a court of love super funny. To all Morons go read your fact based LDS history and you will find you've been lied to and lead astray. Something smells fishy this moron says, hahaha to funny, yep what is fishy is Mormonism and the cultish practices. Hey here is a question what other eligion until 1990 had its members take an oath to secrecy using oaths to take ones life? Mormonism! Wake up

  • @Balla1965 You'd have to be an ex-Mormon to know that.

  • mytv80.. I read that book while on my mission. You could reword the title by Saying to Fawn "No Mame that aint history" Its not written well. ( Scholarly) takes takes many things out of context and uses only that which proves her point even though there is things avaliable to her that she chooses not to use. Do some more research.

  • @rjdnephi You should do more research on reading comprehension. Please check my answer below to another Moron..daym those type errors...let me correct that...MORON..there that's better! If I did anymore research about mormonism... I would definitely find it more ridiculous as it already is. Discuss all your research with your lds bretheren tansaqa11 & compare notes, Im sure you would find that more satisfactory.

  • @rjdnephi Hey your either a liar or brainwashed. Go read the Journal of Discourses Mor(m)on. Your "PROPHET (PROFIT) screwed 14 yo's and married his buddies wives in secret. Wake the hell up and go read the truth and quite lying to support your dumb ass desires to have virgins in heaven and be a God loser.

  • Dipsnort 'I was a Mormon for the first 35 years of my life (mission, temple marriage,BYU grad, etc.).My testimony was unshakable & then I studied early church history & found out that my church education was more whitewashed than a picket fence. Do urself a favor, read "No Man Knows My History", a biography of Joseph Smith by Fawn Brodie. The church made a serious error in judgment when they allowed her (the niece of David O. McKay & professional biographer) access to church archives!'

  • @mytv80 You were a member of the church for 35 years and you let Fawn Brodie's book lead you astray? I am a student of anti-mormon literature and that book is definitely one of the weaker anti-mormon books in the genre. Extremely biased, (like most anti-mormon literature) -READ HUGH NIBLEY'S RESPONSE TO HER BOOK-and very little honest scholarly research. Please tell me this is a joke and you're just a normal run of the mill anti mormon pentecostal! That makes much more sense :)

  • Comment removed

  • @tamsanqa11 I Nice review, tamsanqa, but don't you think Nibley was somewhat biased himself? I'm actually reading No Man Knows My History right now, for the second time. Great bedtime reading.

If you want to avoid bias, I suggest you skip all the apologetic litterature as well.

  • In addition to volunteer service the young missionaries take opportunities to tell people about the word of God and the purpose of life with people they meet and in door to door visitations.

They go voluntarily on a two year mission to serve the church in a capacity of telling people of where they are from, why they are here and where they are going as far as this sojourn in this life is concerned, Shoults says.

  • This sunday our class was about prayer and it made me think about how it is true we only pray when we have problems but when all is well we tend to forget about our creator our lord. We should always pray not only in bad but in good times also and thank the lord for all the good things that surround us.

  • That was a very powerful video. Thank you for sharing.

  • Some1 must truly be in the bondage of sin to vote this vid down.

  • Present day apostles of Jesus Christ testify of the Savior's power to heal, change, and purify us through His Atonement.

  • So beautiful! Thank you to whoever created this inspiring piece of art which reminds me of a power I often neglect.

  • I like this video pray please I love you God

  • Excellent video, sorry the comments don't show it. Nothing comes out of debating like this, one intellect against another, it only causes anger. Jesus never debated like this.

  • @CrillianMonkey23 Yes he did CrillianMonkey. Jesus was agressively outspoken about issues he disagreed with.

  • So are you saying prayer is wrong and praying is wicked. Just a question. Jesus had a perfect knowledge and spoke from the divine! Non could contend with his teachings, all they could come up with is insults and thats what most of these comments are heading towards. They are deviating from what the message is saying. And that is prayer, does not matter what religion you are from, prayer is important. And if you are Athiest then please reserve you comments to a anti religion forum. Have a goodday

  • No, I'm pretty sure I just said that Jesus debated people.

  • @CrillianMonkey23 I am using this video to pray for you to become a better debater. Don't be scared to debate and share what you believe in an educated, enlightened way :)

  • Around 1985, Nibley told Welch that LDS Church President Spencer W. Kimball had promised Nibley that he would not die until his work here on this earth was finished.

"I decided that I wasn't going to push Hugh to finish this book ('One Eternal Round') any sooner than he wanted. Because then his work on Earth would have been finished," Welch said, tongue in cheek, "and I didn't want to contribute to a premature demise.

  • PROVO, Utah -- Hugh Nibley was an editor's dream.

"He worked incredibly rapidly and spoke spontaneously and elegantly on timely issues," John W. Welch said.

  • Hugh Nibley was an editor's nightmare as well.

"Using unusual sources and dozens of languages, his footnotes were amazingly correct -- but very difficult to source check," Welch said.

  • He talked about the role her seminary teacher played in helping her through trials as her father died that school year, leaving her mother to raise and support her six children alone on a small farm.

  • The book of Mormon is true and is the word of God, and it is such a wonderful true text from an ancient Semitic people, and Balla you are a lying, and clueless and the real moron here.

  • @LDSapologist71 What exactly is true?

No Nephites, No Lamanites, No Cows and Horses or Oxen. No Wheat and Barley.

In fact the Bok of Mormon fails to mention Llamas, beans , tomatoes and EVERY other animal or plant which was actually native to the new world at the time.

Its a stupid book for stupid people who then hand over their wives and daughters for the Author ( Smith) to screw in some kind of celestial Divine order that he claimed.

    Suckers.

  • @SisterSkeeba

No education, no research, only BS, PLEASE get one!

Joseph Smithd couldn't have written the book, and its impossible to be any kind of plagiarism.

I hope you are taking notes, because your ignorance deserves to really get educated on what is real and what is not real. For you are completely backwards.

  • LDS Apologists or wanna be's will lie for their faith and attack others because of their insecurity. They are too afraid to seek out truth and do the work it requires to learn their religion is false and hurtful.

  • @Balla1965 Insecurity? I think not. It takes super strength to stand up for what you know is right...even when people try to destroy what you hold to be most precious. I have the truth and that is why I am so strong. Are you strong or is it that you have to tear down others to make your self feel strong which really equals weakness! How is it false and hurtful? It teaches love and forgiveness! To be Christlike and always be like him in all that you do. To love one another!

  • 1. Standing for truth takes strength and character 2. Read real church history 3. I never claimed to be stronger than anyone, Mormons should look at themselves not judge others 4. It also teaches one must earn Gods love and Godhood. 5. The bible not JS taught love, JS condemened to hell all that opposed him incliding many faithful friends. Perhaps you will someday read the Journal of Discourses to learn your wrong.

  • @Balla1965 When is the last time you prayed?

  • @LDSapologist71 ''No education, no research, only BS''

    Talking about yourself ?

So there were cows in the new world?

Does the Book Of Mormon mention New world Llamas, beans , tomatoes?

Its Smiths naive stupid book for the most part.

You are a big Fraud. Dangerous Mormon apologist.

  • No it is you that is the big fraud. Joseph Smith didn't know what a llmas was. He called animals cureloms and cumoms. He didn't know the english term. Joseph Smith was uneducated so for an uneducated person to act educated, but still perform a translation of an ancient text. WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT IT PURPORTS TO BE.

What sort of idiocy shall we identify you by?

  • The book of Mormon is 100% authentic and true, and originated in ancient meso america.

  • @SisterSkeeba

    Richard Dawkins is a moron.

  • @LDSapologist71

    Intelligent reply.

  • @LDSapologist71 @LDSapologist71

What exactly is true about it? It has no history in reality. Its just your imagination.

Smith didn't know what a llama was, however if God gave him the words then surely God would have known what was on the Plates but instead Smith used animals from his era like cows and oxen when he made it up. Ancient american culture did not have these draught animals. Its stupid and a fraud and you a fraud also.

  • @SisterSkeeba

You are using your imagination to disbelieve it.

It is real, read it for yourself. You're in denial to the truth. Ignorance is bliss.

Stick your fraud where the sun don't shine.

  • @SisterSkeeba you are grabbing at straws. Very shaky straws. Please do some "real" research on the Book of Mormon instead of reading the obvious hit job pieces you have been gulping down. It's slightly embarrassing to read your awkward attacks and makes me a little sad for you and your personal issues that you are so clearly taking out on the church. PLEASE READ ANYTHING BY HUGH NIBLEY ON BOOK OF MORMON APOLOGETICS. It would do your Spirit good to eat some healthy food :)

  • @tamsanqa11 What is 'REAL' reseach to you? You mean Ignore the facts and Reality that the Book Of Mormon is an 1830's production and has not real ancient civilisation history.

Hugh Nibley was fullof Crap excuses that members think are plausible answers.

FAIR apologetics continue that crap today.

  • @SisterSkeeba The fact that you are mentioning what the Book of Mormon does not have must mean that you have read it. Because otherwise a person would be foolhardy to criticize something they had no first hand knowledge about. Those people are usually called gossips. And would you accept it anymore if it did mention beans and llamas? An expert on Joesph Smith Jr. also? Your range of knowledge is impressive!

  • @HappyBeva Yes the facts show that The Book Of Mormon contained only what Joseph Smith knew about in his own enviroment and has no correlation to any ancient civilisations.

He used this book he created to 'interfere' with women sexually and emotionally and take over the lives of his followers.

He created trouble for church members by threatening neighbours with Gods supposed Claim on the land they lived.

LDS origins has a history of abuse against followers from the leaders.

  • @SisterSkeeba Can you please give me some recent examples of this "history of abuse against followers from the leaders."?

  • @tamsanqa11 On September 5, 2001, The Oregonian reported a settlement deal between the LDS Church and Jeremiah Scott, the victim of child sexual abuse

  • @61MAF Maybe I should have emphasized the word, "HISTORY of abuse against followers from the leaders" Are you claiming that the LDS church has more instances of abuse than other denominations? I'm assuming you're Pentecostal? Would you like some 'history' of abuse by your leaders?

  • @tamsanqa11 sorry for the posting abuse regarding the LDS church. You wanted specific abuse from "followers," I am sure you will find it somewhere...sin is not specific to one group. And I am not claiming more abuse to any one particular religion or cult. But I am sure sins has more of a foothold in the sect that doesn't follow God of the Bible.

  • @tamsanqa11 The LDS Leaders continually abuse the church members by telling them everything is their fault because of lack of Investigatotrs or Convert Baptisms. The truth is that people can easily find out the church is a lying cult and has been hiding its real history from investigators and even members alike.

  • @SisterSkeeba Why do you have to say that our church is a lying cult.....and to let you in on a little secret our leaders do not put us at fault for anything......we know as members our duties and wether we carry out those duties are up to us.....Our prophet and leaders are here in this dispensation to lead and guide us through these latter days...so don't try and bring down our church that you have no clue about..GET IT, GOT IT, GONE..................

  • @SisterSkeeba Couldn't of said it better!

  • @SisterSkeeba Sister Skeeba. Permit me to be blunt. Man.....you have a negative aura. Freak....it emulates pitch black. Get a grip! Were just talking about prayer and you turn it into a bashing moment. I'd hate to be one of your kids because I'm positive you would push my fingers on a hot stove because I didn't think like you! Let me be more blunt...You M'am.... are a crabby person who has lost their light! End of story! You are attracted to "Black Holes!"

  • @loganhistorian Cut the cult crap talk. Mormon kids are the ones being abused not mine. Mine are allowed to think for themselves.

  • Listen Sister.Skeeba.... I did cut the crap. You have a negative aura and are hateful. Your place in the world is to show others the fruits negativism and the path where soured souls can degrade. Thank God for people like you to show me where I never want to cross or be. Your a great negative example. May you be blessed for being a sacrificial witch from the eternal pit so other's can see where they don't want to fall in! By the way...it's not to late to change...you ain't dead yet!

  • Its super sad that Mormons will not look at truth. I was Mormon my whole life and have even served in a bishopric and stake presidency yet I'm accussed of not knowing anything. It's a huge joke! When you finally find the truth the people you leave behind call you the liar and attack you for learning the truth...it's a cult period plain and simple. Brainwashed believers attack those who leave it

  • @Balla1965 How is it a cult? Brainwashed? Really? If you did belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints then you of all people should know that we have a firm belief that everyone has their free agency to make their own choices. I am sorry for you that you have lost your testimony and no longer have the gospel in your life. That my friend is a tragedy indeed. I wish you happiness!

  • @HappyBeva ''we have a firm belief that everyone has their free agency to make their own choices''

What you realy mean is the church teaches that we either OBEY and believe the cult leaders or we will end up failures and eunuchs in a lesser kingdom while those faithfull glory in celestial exhubberance.

You don't really have free agency, the church threatens that families will be ripped apart should anyone excercise their agency to be alerted that the church is not what it claims.

  • @Balla1965 Could you please tell me what ward and stake you belonged to and what years? Something smells fishy? Please, for all of us "brainwashed believers", simply prove that you were in a bishopric and stake presidency.

  • Glossing over differences on essential matters, and pretending that crucial issues are irrelevant, is not

    tolerance.

  • "It is a tremendous and humbling honor for all of us who participate in the pageant, in even the smallest way, to present a portion of the life and mission of the Savior," Wudel said. "The power of his life and the beauty of his teachings uplift and edify everyone -- staff, cast and audience."

  • Wudel is no newcomer to the pageant, as this is her 15th year participating. Wudel was in the cast in the role of narrator for two years, then served as an assistant director for four years prior to being called as pageant director in 2002. Jef Rawls and Jenee Wright Prince now serve as assistant directors.

  • The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible and is a record of God's dealings with His chosen people in the New World. The main purpose of the Book of Mormon is "to the convincing of Jew and Gentile that JESUS is the CHRIST, the ETERNAL GOD, manifesting himself unto all nations." (Book of Mormon Title Page) It was written by ancient American prophets for our day (Mormon 8:35) and is an American testament of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • THe book of Mormon is a fairy tale never defended by those who tell the truth. Interestingly it has not only been proven to be a work of fiction.

  • Canadian Mormon David Bissett and his teammates Lyndon Rush, Chris Le Bihan and Lascelles Brown were awarded the bronze medal in Saturday's bobsled finals of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

  • More proof for a Moron the gospel is true! Sorta like when BYU wins a basketball or football game LMAO!!!

  • I saw you got OWNED in a video!

I heard EVERYONE is denouncing you!

  • @Balla1965 You're kinda strugglin with getting some responses in your trolling I see. Let me give you some stuff to chew on. I warn you though, it may inspire you and you might actually learn some truth. Be careful :(O fairlds . org

  • Canadian David Bissett wins bronze in 4-man bobsled

  • SInce Mormons believe they will become Gods which God are they praying too? The God of all things as the bible speaks of or of their heavenly father who JS the liar taught of? Hey Mormons have you found your seer stones yet?

  • It takes no genius to mock. It isn't even amusing.

  • Comment removed

  • Mormons are morons. Answer the question, JS said you had a seer stone and white stone have you found them or not? Thinking you can become a God is arrogant and ignorant and not amusing. If you feel mocked you need to look up the definition of mocked retard. How many wives will you be eternally impregnating while creating your world under the "new and everlasting covenant" of celestial marriage aka polygamy?

  • @Balla1965 The Bible teaches that "Ye are Gods." Also, that we are created in the Image of God. Jesus says that He does nothing but what the Father does. And what did Jesus do? He was born on earth, lived, married, died, and was resurrected. Aristotle taught that God is without body, parts or passions, a false doctrine that has unfortunately been passed down through the myriads of churches that were started by man, and finally exposed by God through his prophet, Joseph.

  • Mohammed and Joseph Smith were both full of shit as is easily proven by anyone who thinks. The bible says if just one prophecy doesn't come true they are false. The bible also says that if they teach a gospel different than that Christ taught they are false. THe bible also happens to clearly teach the gospel of Jesus Christ would never be taken from man. Christ's own words are mocked by mormons who believe his church had to be restored by a guy with a rock in his hat.

  • @Balla1965 It is interesting how many experts are out there on the LDS Church who have probably never read the Book of Mormon or spoke with a member of the LDS Church. Unusual way to become an expert at something. Oh and FYI-- The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus, confirming he was the Christ and that his gospel is true!

  • Comment removed

  • i should start praying more often..

  • I will open with a question. Do you love Heavenly Father? A simple suggestion on how to improve a personal humble prayer is to express your honest sincere love to Heavenly Father in your personal prayers. Even if your entire prayer is just to express your love is a very welcome prayer.

  • When I see destruction and turmoil around the world, I ask myself where is God !. If there is God why is he hiding from man, and who are we praying too.

  • Disregard what religion anyone belongs too. If you are truly a follower of Christ, and try to live the teachings of Christ, this is a great video. Whether it be by a Baptist, Methodist, or member of the LDS church. This is a great video for any Christian.

  • Powerful

  • Prayer is good.

To publicly argue that Mormonism is completely void of religious criticizm is the most deceiving, hypocritical statement ever made. Who in their right mind would possibly believe these damned lies?

From the tree falls the seed. LIARS.

  • Petition the lord with prayer? YOU CANNOT PETITION THE LORD WITH PRAYER!!!

  • I completely agree. Nomatter what religion you belong to, this was amazing to watch and listen to. Very uplifting and inspiring for all!

  • Regardless of your denomination....what a thoughtful, well thought out, beautiful message. What could be better than talking to our Creator?

  • a beautiful message which i hope to share with family and friends. Thank u.

  • its nice to be reminded to pray

  • @alemelech ......Saint Mark 38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me. 40 For he that is not against us is on our part... (What makes you think we don't love our Holy Bibles? lol) :D

  • I have yet to meet an LDS member who loves the whole of the Bible. "We believe in the Bible as far as it is correctly translated..." Orson Pratt said, "Who, in his right mind, could, for one moment, suppose the Bible in its present form to be a perfect guide? Who knows that even one verse of the Bible has escaped pollution?" (Pratt, Divine Authenticity of the Book of Mormon, p. 47). So, no, the LDS doesn't love the Bible. At least like the BoM, anyway.

  • Mark 9: 38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us. 39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.... Matt. 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God...

  • So, those verses must be correctly translated, then...

  • @rodwyr I love the Bible as scripture, a testament of the Christ, and the word of God. You can not ignore, however, the error of men when cumulating the books, centuries after the Savior's death and resurrection (cherry picking scripture to be included in the Bible). The Bible itself testifies of scripture not included there in.

  • Of course, that's assuming that men made an error in the canonization. If there really are books in the Bible that the Bible says aren't in there (I have heard the argument before...Jasher, etc.), then why didn't Joseph Smith or any other LDS "prophet" restore them in any of the 4 standard works, much less the BoM? If you read any of those missing books, you'd likely see why the books weren't included in the canonization.

  • @rodwyr This is not an argument that I am making. The Bible itself refers to other "scripture"... the argument is made by the Bible itself and is unavoidable. The scripture we have (the Bible, BoM, D&C, PoGP) is sufficient scripture in this dispensation, but in no way completely reveals the Kingdom of God. I am comfortable with a testimony that declares the Bible the word of God as far as it has been translated correctly as per 8th article of faith.

  • I would like to see the verses that says the other books are considered "scripture". Are you referring to the Ezekiel 37 and Isaiah 29 passages? If not, then let me know what you're referring to. If so, I can elaborate on it further later. Plus, the 8th article thing doesn't really make sense to me. As far as it is correctly translated? Yet, LDS try to use the Bible to prove Mormonism to be true? (cont'd)

  • ...(cont'd) The common them that I've seen with LDS showing that a verse is not translated correctly is when the verse clearly goes against LDS theology. So, while you may be "comfortable" with the testimony you hold to, I cannot be. I can only rest in the inerrancy of God's Word and that alone, not in any other "supplement" to it.

  • @rodwyr Joshua 10:13, 1Kings 11:41, 1Chron 29:29, 2Chron 9:29, 12:15, 33:19 all point to additional scriptures. And yes Ezk 37:16,19 and Isaiah 29:4 testify of the BoM. John 10:16 testifies of one of the most miraculous events in the BoM, Christ visiting the Americas.

HOWEVER... this is all a distraction from the initial question... Do Mormons love the Bible? The answer is yes.

  • All the passages prior to the mentioning of Ezekiel and Isaiah referring to other books I will answer quantitatively. They are BOOKS, not SCRIPTURES. Like I said before, if the aforementioned books are really that critical, why didn't Smith or any other LDS prophet restore them in ANY of the standard works? All of the other books cited would be like citing works on a book you wrote. Getting info to produce your work...Ezekiel 37:22 shows what the 2 sticks were, and I can point out other...

  • @rodwyr And who is to say what is a "book" and what is a "scripture". Men? Men who have a history of scandal, personal editions, and men who have a history of cruelty and violence for personal gain and control.

From the context of the scripture... the apostle referenced the "books" as "scripture".

Its been fun, but I am not going to engage in any nonsensical anti-mormon games and scripture play on this post.

  • "Men who have a history of scandal, personal editions, and men who have a history of cruelty and violence for personal gain and control."

From my study of Mormon history, you PERFECTLY described some earlier prophets.

Again, I ask, why didn't any of the prophets restore these lost "scriptures"? Your other post appears to be nothing more than an assertion with no evidence backing it up, so I lose interest in that, too.

  • @rodwyr your accusation is inflammatory and unfounded. You are clearly reading from the perspective violent anti-mormons of the time.

You can find similar historical "opinions" on George Washington.. Was he a prayerful General inspired and guided by God in the founding of a Nation OR was he a Traitor and criminal worthy of a death sentence.

The Prophets of God were humble principled men (though imperfect) of God that restored the Church of Jesus Christ through dispensation and prophecy.

  • No, I just looked at the ACTUAL history of the Mormon church, not the one the LDS portrays. Both Smith and Young had histories of scandal, and I don't have to look any further than the blood atonement doctrine and the Mountain Meadows Massacre to see Young as a man who has "a history of cruelty and violence for personal gain and control". Whether or not Young was actually involved in the MMM, he didn't have any problems with it.

  • ...problems with the interpretation later. Isaiah 29, the subject is a VISION, not a book. Later in the chapter, it's dealing with restoration of the nation, not bringing about another book. John 10:16, the other sheep are the Gentiles, not the Native Americans. (See Acts 28:28, Romans 11:11,25, and Gal. 1:16). So, in the proper context, you have to show me where you get Christ visiting the Americas is proven in this passage.

  • Correction on this post about Isaiah 29:4...passage I was thinking of was a little further in the same chapter...my bad...anyway, the verse mentions a "familiar spirit". Every mention in the Bible about a familiar spirit deals with necromancy or spiritism. Read Deut. 18:9-12. God condemns anyone who relates in any way to a familiar spirit.

  • @rodwyr many more corrections are due.

  • As far as corrections are concerned, the only ones that are due are the ones in LDS theology, what you were taught to believe. BTW, I'm not anti-Mormon...I'm anti-MormonISM. I have no qualms with you or any other LDS believer. My beef lies with the doctrine. My other beef is the fact that the LDS deny the fundamental tenets of Christianity, yet want to be considered Christians. Those are my issues with the beliefs you were taught. But, like I said, I have no problem with you.

  • Hatred never helped anybody. Why are you so full of hate? Satan is the author of hate, be-litteling, bigotry and prejudice. What team are you on?

Mormons are the best neighbors, the most honest hard working people I have ever worked with, the most charitable people I've ever met. You could learn a lot from your Mormon brothers and neighbors.

Rather than spreading hate, why not help your community, your country, and the world by stopping the hate spreading....hate is not the Lords way.

  • Out of all due respect, I've heard that same song-and-dance before. I don't spread hatred. The closest I get is talking with omiolo. I don't bash the PEOPLE of Mormonism. I bring to light the inherent problems with LDS theology and the "standard works" outside of the Bible. Alot of LDS are fine people. I've never said they weren't. My heart aches for the people of the LDS because they've been lied to, and there's plenty of evidence to back it up. So, yes, I AM helping.

  • @rodwyr If you seriously think you are not spreading hate, you need to step back and take a long look at yourself. You my friend are on the devils errand...I hope you enjoy it.

  • "Myself and hundreds of the Elders around me have seen its [Christianity] pomp, parade, and glory; and what is it? It is a sounding brass and a tinkling symbol; it is as corrupt as hell; and the Devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work than the Christianity of the nineteenth century." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 167). - John Taylor

Plus, you just sent me a hateful message, thus "spreading hate"...so wouldn't that mean you're on the devil's errand, too? Join the club...

  • @rodwyr Looks like I stuck a cord...the truth hurts. Wake up bro.

  • Struck a chord? You didn't even find the fretboard...My point was that the LDS church has "spread hate" long before I ever came about. I kinda relish the verbal jousts thrown at me by the LDS, because I hear it and think of all the times that I hear "we don't bash other religions". I'm not offended by LDS insults. You tell me I'm under the devil's errand, yet the LDS claims they don't bash other religions? The hypocrisy is what blows my mind.

  • @rodwyr further... not sure what "supplement" means. The BoM is NOT a replacement of God's word. It is what it is... a testament of Jesus Christ. At no point does the BoM supplement or contradicts God's word or challenges the inerrancy of God's word.

  • There are SEVERAL points where the Bible and the BoM contradict each other, but I'll only mention a few here:

    Gen.11:9 vs. Ether 1:33-37

Micah 5:2, Matt. 2:1 vs. Alma 7:10 (side note...all other "at"'s mentioned in the BoM mean "in" that location)

    Matt. 27:45, Mark 15:33, Luke 23:44 vs.

    Hel. 14:20, 27, 3 Nephi 8:3

    Acts 11:26 (app. 40 A.D.) vs. Alma 46:13,15 (app. 73 B.C.)

Just a few places...only a limited amount of space.

  • @rodwyr looked at few of these and your interpretation reaches far beyond what the scripture is saying.... so.... I lost interest.

  • I'm so thankful for the LDS church and all that serve in the name of Christ. Being born & raised as a traditional Native American I've never experienced anything that could bring me even closer to the Lord. I know the book of Mormon to be true. I've heard similar stories growing up from native elders. Reading the book of Mormon was so insightful, helpful & life changing. I thank all the ancestors that defied the natural man and belittling from there peers to bring forth ALL the word of God.

  • Thank you for this video. I am grateful to know that I have the same access to God as did (and still do) all of the prophets. Prayer is so powerful. I know that God hears every prayer uttered by every person on earth--even though he answers in different ways and at the time of His own choosing.

I believe prayer is something that we as humans need--God doesn't need us to tell Him what is going on, He already knows. It's up to us to figure out why He asks us to pray.

  • What a wonderful video
