  • Yes, but will it blend?

  • @iTzdaFatcaT im pretty sure its the two long rods that fall in above the cylynders at 1:00. i think?

  • Where's the camshaft?

  • if I'm not mistaken, it kind of looks like the 2.0L i4 DOHC zetec ford focus engine.

  • Engineering at it's best

  • this video is the screensaver on computers in my schools auto-shop. :D

  • This only shows how it works in theory. But this stuff is much more complicated than this. You need just the right pressures and liquids for this thing to work.

  • this is interesting. now if only the parts we named.. that b even more helpful. well for a newbie like me who is still learning =)

  • not helpful

  • omg all this for L4 engine

  • this is more on the parts of an engine not how it works

  • is this car engine 4V ?

  • @DanaVEVO 16V

  • This video is awesome!

  • EXACTLY how a car engine works...

    go to 3:17 :|

  • Car's engine is like music, it has parts they parts play together like into a song or purpose. It a perfect Harmony and rhythm

  • good evening 240p, btw nice vid

  • Hi, what kind of software was used to produce this 3D animation clip. I want to produce something like this for a web site.

Any help will be kind. Thanks.

  • OH I get it!! the gas pumps in and explodes pushing the piston back down

  • SO SICK!!

  • One of my videos shows EXACTLY how a car engine works, it explains the camshafts, crankshaft, spark plug etc, check it out on my channel

  • Very good graphics, but doesn't explain what anything is or how it works.

  • oh now i get it (sarcasm)

  • how does that make the car move?

  • @AHappyPumkin ITs connected to a transmission, which drives the wheels.

  • Darwin didit

  • was this made with maya by any chance? if so is the models available, i am looking to design my own engine and this would be excelant to base it on, thanks for the animation

  • amazing video, even if the guy in the top comments is a complete bullshitter!

  • @craigelliott1989 yeah uh go fuck your self in hell bitch you know what your just jellus cause i can do this shit than you can bitch atlist i do stuff for my kids and family to keep them alive BITCH ! so go fuck your self

  • that's amazing... did we come up with that lol :F

  • Your video doesn't illustrate valve overlap for exhaust gas scavenging

  • @JohnxWaynexGacy neither stratified charge

  • you have worked hardly on this video and the least word i can give it to you is (thank you)

  • almost as complex as women.

  • Good

  • So engines are basically controlled explosions.

  • @xBloodXGusherx The combustion event is not a controlled explosion - it's like a quickly traveling flame

  • @beeroosterm well it is a controlled explosion in a certain way or do you see your whole car exploding on each power stroke ? if you do well...... first educate yourself on knocking then we talk.

  • @xBloodXGusherx no, it's all about gas expanding when heated - high compression in the cylinder.

  • OMG this is amazing. i'm in awe.

  • Wow I wish I understood how it all works

  • EXCELLENT!

  • I disassembled a Chev. V8 5.3L and assembled it again, and started it, it was awesome !!

  • @caper3940 is a 5.3L a custom mod?

  • thx, i got an auto test tmrw :$

  • @SickoZone howd you do

  • @WastefulVideos REALLY WELL!! ACE THAT SHITTT

  • lol some commentary would be nice

  • Hate it, u

    You didn't even explain it

  • 3.17 It starts to work !!!

  • I love it and i'm only thirteen!

  • 240p we meet again...

  • All i care how an engine works, if it gets me from point A to point B..Lol

  • A engine is a big ol air and water pump

  • I think they missed a gasket

  • Excellent animation. Footnotes would have helped but I presume this animation is developed for production of this engine where those who work on it understand all the parts visually. Great video.

  • what, and you're expecting us to understand this? nob

  • oh dear lord

  • Thanks

  • thanks for this vid i took my car a part and cleaned it then put it back to gether lol

  • @TheAustinblankenship Shit man that made me laugh.. too bad there are so few people who make creative comments, not just copy paste from vid to vid

  • @Jurra44 lol i like saying odd comments and makeing people laugh

  • @TheAustinblankenship, does still work?

  • @John94098 yeah lol

  • @TheAustinblankenship, nice work.

  • @John94098 thanks lol it does real good now

  • @TheAustinblankenship, haha i bet it does.

  • @TheAustinblankenship you did that by just watching that video ? Or you knew something about the engine before that >?

  • @TheAustinblankenship is it damaged? I work as a mechanic and you just cant open a whole engine without making mistakes.

  • @ThorAxeTheThunder im made alot of mistakes but i had some friends over to help me and im a deisal mechanic

  • @TheAustinblankenship I'm starting my first project in the new year.. little concerned that I might miss something, looking at this video just made me even more dizzy. haha.. how did it go for you???

  • @TheTechController lol i went pretty good lol

  • If some people care to watch the video to the end, you'll see the title DOESN'T need changing...

  • @Boxing4L yep, i knew that, but thx.

  • and those "half discs" are counterweights

  • 2) 0:17 is a crankshaft and connecting rod are connected to it buddy. The pistons are attached to the connecting rods

  • Comment removed

  • 1:58 Turbo?

  • i wish if anyone could name the parts starting from 1:54 :)

  • that was insane..great video.

  • CHANGE THE TITLE..plz..

  • Looks Like a Honda prelude H22A motor.

  • Ok so how does an engine work...

  • This would be AWESOME if it had commentary! Maybe just say the name of the parts as they fly by...or something!

  • this was pretty cool

  • Well this would be great if I knew what the fuck was going on lol, very good vid, but I dint know what's going on, or what 99% of those parts do and are called, should have had commentary instead of music lol.

  • this was 0 help

  • what software is being used? i want it!

  • it does show all the parts moving and how it effects one another so ya bitchin

  • i feel like im in oceans 11 with this music

  • perfect!!!

  • amazing. thanks for this video

  • See the movie till the end, it shows it working...

  • I wanted to know how the engine starts, how it looks when accelerated and lots more wiith you wasted my time with how it builds!

  • @cosmin0192837465 Are you serious? lol, this is the most interesting thing about it.

  • That is how EXACTLY HOW A CAR ENGINE IS BUILD! NOT EXACTLY HOW A CAR ENGINE WORKS! Don't you know some english?

  • so i had to learn this from a video on youtube fk my engineering teacher fk hgih school

  • must have taken a lot of time, what engine did you use for a model?

  • I didn't get shit

  • omg what software is this

  • watch till the end and it shows u how it works

  • 1.) 0:10 is the cylynder block.

2.) 0:17 all the half dics on the axon are what the cylynders move to rotate the wheels.

3.) 0:20 - 0:30 are the cylinders, (in this engine 4) that rotate the wheels, when 2 drop the other 2 are raised.

4.) The gazoline is burned and the smoke is pushed in the cylynder block to push 2 cylynders down (rolling the wheels), which push the other 2 up. When these cylynders that were pushed come up, they compress the gas wich is sparked and then pushed inthe exaust

  • @aaimp Are you saying the fuel is combusted prior to entering the cylinder? The piston is driven down as a result of the gases in the cylinder expanding due to the heat caused by the fuel being ignited. (Raising temp. of gas causes increased pressure, and hence, expansion).

The relatively inert exhaust gases are then ejected from the cylinder as they cool and retract, and are forced out of the cylinder as the piston completes its motion around the (drive shaft?) bar at the bottom.

  • @ePicPrOGaMeR12345 yes thats what i meant to say lol i got some of the facts wrong i searched it up. I confused the cylinders with pistons.

  • @ePicPrOGaMeR12345 the fuel air mixture enters tthe combustion chamber through the intake valve. it is then compressed as the piston moves up just before the piston get to the top the spark plug fires and ignites the mixture pushing the piston back down. then when the piston come back up again the exaust valve opens and the piston pushes the exuast gases out . anything else you wanna know id be glad to help.

  • @ePicPrOGaMeR12345 Crankshaft. Pistons are attached to a CRANKSHAFT.

  • @aaimp This entire comment is wrong. Have you ever built an engine. It's called a Engine Block, Crankshaft and the Transmission moves the tires, not the engine.

  • @HamletvsJawas dont sweat it hes probably some kid just tryin to name all the parts he knows and sound smart but he forgot the air that was injected with the gas i think it was green is a major part of the whole thing so he still dont know much.

  • @aaimp THANK YOU SIR.

  • @aaimp You mean engine block. Those half discs are just counter weights for the pistons which turn the crankshaft. Gasoline is spelled with an S. Usually only one chamber ignites at a time.

  • @aaimp Do all engines work like that??

  • @CrunchableFishes no, depends on the type of fuel used and the vehicle first of all. but yea the cylinder system is very similar

  • @aaimp, mate listen, don't preach shit, if you don't know what the fuck you are saying... i have worked on cars before many times, i have worked at a transmission and now i currently work at an engine reconditioning shop... lets get this straight, 1. the parts that you are saying that are doing all the up and down motion, are not the cylinders, they are called pistons, which go up and down in the cylinders, 2. the engine is not the only system in the car that turns the wheels, to be cont...

  • @aaimp, but is only the first major step.... if you had've said that it turns the flywheel then you would have been right, but because you said the engine turns the wheels... then you are wrong, because the clutch or torque converter attaches onto the flywheel or flexiplate, which then turns parts in the transmission and when you put car in gear and go to take off the power goes from the engine, through the transmission and to the drive shaft, then to the differential then from there

  • @aaimp, the power gets divided up goes to the wheel axles which then turn the wheels.... reason why you are wrong when you say that the engine turns the wheels, is because you can have the engine in the car turned on, and have the car parked and not be going anywhere... so it is only part of the whole process getting your car to move but you need the transmission and all the rest, place you putting the transmission gear and taking off the handbrake.

  • @aaimp, the other thing i have to say is, that parts that you call the half disc and axon, is called the connecting rod and connecting rod cap (half disc) and what you call the axon is actually the crank shaft, there is no such thing as half discs and an axon inside car engines. and the other thing is, it is GASoline not GAZoline, and the piston (which you where refering to as the cylinder) does push gas out, but into the other cylinders (which you where refering to as the pistons) to be cont

  • @aaimp, oops but not into other cylinders but out passed the exhaust valve through the exhaust port in the engine head, and then through the exhaust manifold and then through the exhaust pipe and out the back of the car, and also one last thing, it's not smoke it's hot expanding burnt exhaust gases, or you can just say exhaust and it would be passable, and also its not just gas that the piston compresses there is also air as well.... right that's pretty much everything for now.

  • It actually does show how it works for minutes in the end so stop bitching about it.

  • awesome graphics man, thats exactly how it works, right down to valve overlap and correct ignition timing sequence. Good job! Have you by any chance made one on an automatic transmission?I have been looking for this style of clip to get a better grasp of the wet clutches and solenoids

  • in theory could you make an engine block from stone or rock

  • @210482fmj iron is a mineral, so it IS a rock. some hi performance pistons are made from ceramic.

  • @thunderstruckter666 ceramic?? you would sratch you ur cylinder before you knew where you were. hi performance pistons are made from anodized aluminium or forged titanium

  • @EXTREME4YEARSTOCOME americas.kyocera.com/kicc/automotive/engines.html

  • Comment removed

  • thats cool! nice basic explanation :)

  • Most of the animations I see don't cover gaskets. this is the only that does.

  • i wish timing chains went on that easy

  • are the pistons phasally out of sync so that they can be brought back up after being put down by the spark plug combusting the gas?

  • most excellant video thanks

  • nice demo

  • skip to 3:15 if you want to actually see any engine workings going on. too long.

  • is this a 4 cylinder engine?

  • @abearmuthamutha Indeed.

  • PhizzleK96 nope..stock Nissan KA motor..

  • Good knowledge video with good music.

  • This explains nothing. It's just an animation on how an engine fits together. I've learnt more about vaginal childbirth from this video.

  • Engines & child birth. Both involve friction, injection and changing fluids.

  • Nice animations, but without some background knowledge it might be a bit hard to follow it .

  • thanks for this ;)

  • Jesus H christ.. it just keeps going..

  • les clips de piston ons etais oublier sinon cest bien

  • Man, they should have labeled the parts as they were being put together

  • 152 people loves Vaginal Childbirth video

  • im trying to make a V6 PETROL engin in pro/e and have completed the cylinder casing, piston, crank shaft and ALMOST ALL THE other stuffs.i have done B.tech in mechanical i want to get into the automobile field, i want to complete my design and then send it to any automobile company.can any one tell me if this helps. and to whom should i send my designs to i have no idea. searching for it .. im also desgning the gearbox n the differential.. please help. al the dimnsins n clculations done by me..

  • did anyone try carshen dot com ? Let dealers bid. they claim it can save 3000 dollars on a car purchase... any feedback from carshen dot com?

  • That's not a head gasket, that's the valve cover gasket. There is a head gasket though, barely visible at 1:07. Noticed that now. A lot of gaskets are missing nevertheless.

  • internal combustion = childbirth..........get it???

  • should be renamed to how an engine is assembled

  • @fyckthissht funny thing is... thats not how an engine is assembled.

  • @fyckthissht No, you and 36 others obviously stopped watching before 3:17

    :D

  • @fyckthissht IT SHOWS HOW IT WORKS AT THE END!

  • @fyckthissht Really? Because last time I built an engine, i'm pretty sure I didn't put the pistons and rods on the crank before shoving it all into the bottom of the engine.

  • that explains absolutely nothing, it doesn't show how it works, it just shows where all the pieces go.

  • i remember 2 years ago i was watching this alot! thumbs up if you feel me!

  • Heavens above. So many moving parts to fail & fix. No wonder car makers aren't too keen on selling vehicles with only electric motors & batteries. There'd be no profit in them.

  • @bored1980 you're ridth on that but an electric car would take tonly to 50 yards before it runs out of juice and it'l be at a crawling speed lol

  • where is the narrator??

  • No head gasket? Or did I miss that?

  • Hey I Got the same VIDEO BUT LABELED PARTS!

  • @SmilingBread

Yes, electrical as far as the spark plugs lighting the gasoline goes

  • im not learning how to put together a engine but how they work

  • I wonder why he chose a KA24

  • Comment removed

  • real cars don't need spark plugs:D TDITDITDI

  • El defecto que le veo a la realizacion del video digital es que el color del motor no contrasta con el color del fondo, hace... dificultosa su apreciación.

  • Misleading title to be honest...

It should be named: "EXACTLY how a car engine is assembled."

This video doesn't show how a car works AT ALL...

  • @Rotemetoot to be completely honest the last quarter of it showed exactly how an engine works. watch the whole video.

  • this vid is more complicated than the real thing ahahaha!
