Nothing wrong with solar or neon lighting. I just do not want to pay for it. But solar is not at grid parity. Once solar is at parity or better great. Cap and trade distorts the energy market. Solar made huge strides when oil was over $100 a barrel. But now oil prices fell and Spanish subsidies went away.

We DO have plenty of oil! We have 65 million acres ready for drilling. They have the leases and NOTHING is stopping them from drilling. Why aren't they?
The 68 million acres has NO lawsuits holding drilling up. It is "shovel ready" so to speak. Leases are in place and land is ready. The oil companies want to keep the supply low to keep prices high. They also have offshore land ready. Google it!
The industry is drilling on just a fraction of areas it already has access to. Oil co.'s are not drilling on the land to limit supply & drive up oil prices. Big Oil is interested in pumping up prices & pumping up their own profits rather than pumping more oil. Markey co-sponsored a bill to charge oil co.'s a fee for land they hold that's not producing oil. We should not even begin discussing handing over more public land to the oil companies until they first use the land they already hold.
Actually, allowing oil companies to drill for oil locally will decrease the risk premium that is added to oil from the instability of the middle east region.

That's fine but when contractural obligations for bargaining units rise in excess of 10%, cuts have to come from somewhere. Allow DIY solar panel fabrication and installation tax rebates instead of only company certified ones. or to meed middle ground have inspectors grant DIY certifications which in turn gives jobs to inspectors and aids the percent of solar homes. Company based solar installations have been around forever and you see no real rise in solar installations due to price. DIY to save the day.

You know if you really look at the life cycle energy cost and global warming potential of solar cells it actually is worste than oil or coal. Nothing wrong with solar or neon lighting. I just do not want to pay for it. But solar is not at grid parity. Once solar is at parity or better great. Cap and trade distorts the energy market. Solar made huge strides when oil was over $100 a barrel. But now oil prices fell and Spanish subsidies went away.
I hate the Saudi's and agree that 1800th century mercantilism is bad true cost should be factored into oil. Or better yet pull the troops out and let oil go to its true price.

The industry is drilling on just a fraction of areas it already has access to. Oil co.'s are not drilling on the land to limit supply & drive up oil prices. Big Oil is interested in pumping up prices & pumping up their own profits rather than pumping more oil. Markey co-sponsored a bill to charge oil co.'s a fee for land they hold that's not producing oil. We should not even begin discussing handing over more public land to the oil companies until they first use the land they already hold.

While coal companies are required to diligently develop their leases, oil and gas companies are not required to do so.

Putting caps on taxes will only hold the line for so long and is ineffective w/o limiting spending. I am in Calif and also in NJ where we have an imposed 4% tax levy cap. That's fine but when contractural obligations for bargaining units rise in excess of 10%, cuts have to come from somewhere. Prop 13 is not all that it is cracked up to be when spending is not curtailed...BTW-spending is a tradition in CA

This whole global warming frenzy is based on junk science. Earth's climate and temperature are in constant change, due to natural cycles. Our planet is an "open" system, thermodynamically speaking. Since earth is an open system, each year climate and temperaure will be different than the previous - having no change in earth temperature is statistically impossible!! Global warming charlatans like Obama will be held on the same fear mongering propaganda page as the flat earth theory.

i wasnt speaking of global warming actually. Evolution was the first thing that came to mind.
But its not the only science repubs dont believe in.
About GW, I know how bad too much CO2 is, so i support lowering its spewing into the air as much as possible.
I have many other reasons to support renewables and energy efficiency and getting rid of coal usage aside from GW, though i may believe in it, so Obamas belief in GW doesnt matter since our ends are the same, whatever our reasons

How can you say YOU know how bad CO2 is for the enviroment if climatologists are still arguing over it's affect? Hmmm? How about we use wind, geothermal, tide, and wave technology? That alone would fuel this entire country. But they continue to pass legislation like HR 2454 that is written to keep us using oil, coal and this crap that supposedly screws up the enviroment in the first place. Take a step back please. The whole bill was a sham. There is no science behind any of this.

First, the large majority still say GW is real, so a minority chirps and i am supposed to care?
Second, I never said anything about the bill and agree that we need to use all renewables. He has put measures and is still working to push measures needed to embrace such technologies, though i am saddened when he supports unnecessary things too.
I cant tell if clean coal is a sham or not, though scrubbers and sequestering are nothing new, but i prefer that not be supported so strongly either
