In terms of emotion their are differences between the sexes quite obviously. Men can be quite emotional when they allow themselves to be. However, while men may sometimes react emotionally women's actual thinking is emotively-based. It is a matter of a type of thinking rather than a type of reaction, if you will.

@Dyakki if you had read what I wrote carefully you would have noticed that I wrote men "tend" to like cars and sports etc . Of course not every man likes the same thing and the same goes for women but in general men go for these things and women go for other things. Socialization has changed dramatically during the 20th century . Boys are being taught to be like girls and girls are taught to be like boys but nature dominates when it comes to how people act in terms of gender roles.

My experience with Christian women, in an oversimplified statement, has been horrendous. I profess Christ, love Christ and love His people. The vast majority of Christian women that I have been friends or worked with were rebellious! They take no consideration that I am first a brother in Christ. They have shown no respect for my masculine courtesies toward them as women. Most have been controlling and SELFISH!

I think that women romaticize about finding a man like the pastor and no real man is interested in keeping pace with someone just to apease himself or another. that is a trait that is significant of women. aside form that the church has too much of an expanded role in black life and culture today.
I don't go to church anymore because it's full of gossiping women who judge everybody they lay eyes on. Plus it's full of overly large, bitter women who wear frowns on their faces 24/7... even while uttering a "thank you Jesus" anytime the preacher pauses. I can get disapproving looks from large women any day of the week, so I don't need the bother of putting a shirt and tie on for more of the same Sunday mornings.
Many men I think get discouraged by the discrephencies of some people who call themselves Christians and then how they end up acting. We need to be a good example to the world, a light to the world, and when anyone of us see others who say they are Christian yet they act like others act, with the same selfishness, rudeness, shallowness etc as a non Christian would act, that can get really discouraging. So that may be part of the reason.
I will just say this, Not everyone that says they are Christian or that go to Church are true Christians. Some may act it when they are there, but their heart isn't where it should be, and the rest of the week they don't act with the love of Christ. I am Christian, but I will admit, I havn't been to church in awhile. Some men may feel discouraged by SOME of the people there that don't show the fruit meaning they don't act and behave like true loving caring compassionate warm hearted Christians.
Plus, there's just too many women's empowerment groups and meetings in the local church! What about allowing BM starting and leading empowerment groups as well? The truth be told, the bible tells Christian women to submit to their husbands. Islamic religion is a male dominated institution as is Islamic culture itself. That is why males predominate in Mosques AND in all other organizations. In many cases women are not even permitted to leave the home or be educated without consent. So it follows you will not see as many of women out in the open in most Islamic societies.

Religion is an emotional matter; a matter of the heart. It's also a matter of culture (beliefs passed from parents to children). Generally, women are stronger in these qualities than men are.
Also, on the feminization issue, this is probably due to the matriarchal element of our black culture. In modern black culture, the matriarch is a relatively recent thing. I think that has a lot to do with it: black women are FAR more religious and superstitious than the men. This has been documented in many statistics.
Third, Christianity is losing foothold in America and gaining less credibility and popularity as the years go by; look at Europe, they're mostly atheist now. A lot I know have left their Christian roots to settle for a different religion, or heck, no religion at all. Many of us stop going to church in college or were never interested in church to begin with; it was low on our priority list and we did it because our family went.
I think there are numerous reasons for this. For one thing, as men, we enjoy sports. Naturally, there's going to be less men at church on Sundays because that's NFL day. Secondly, men think in a more logical way and less emotional stance than most women; I'm sure a lot of men feel they have to go to church but don't really believe in it. I was the same way at one time, and I still am; I mostly go to church t please my mother and see people I know despite being atheist.
I come from a different standpoint. Every church I have attended since adulthood has had a very strong masculine presence. I appreciated them ministries b/c they reflected everything I grew up with.

In america the church is preaching the itching ears gospel(seed time and harvest). The church gets your seed(money) and you wait on god for a harvest LOL.
MY SENTIMENTS-EXACTLY! BRILLIANT! My believes are very strong when it comes to my household serving the Lord.
However, I KNOW this is why, WE men, do not believe in Women taking OVER church services, labor forces and HOUSEHOLDS.
WE are CONVICTED TO LEAD! That means, the whole theory behind a man being a "REAL MAN" in our society means that men MUST take accountability and responsibility in the areas mentioned.
Our society is revolting from Family into everyone becoming lovers of self.
I told my Grandma not to say the rosary and worship Mary because she is being deceived in witchcraft. she does not listen to me. her son died at 50 in the most horrid bloody way, and her husband also died in his 50's in the most horrid way. I told her the catholic church is diguised satanism. i told her straight out that she is actually a witch. the eucharistic is unbiblical. also sunday observance instead of following the hebrew calander sabbaths. i don't know what to do!
My Sister, Grandma, and Mother are control freaks. My Gran uses so much anti-wrinkle cream. My sister wears the most sluttiest clothing, and my mum has so many marian idols (a different 1 from every country). I would say they all have the spirit of jezebel. They are all catholics.

Let me ask you. Do you want a man who teaches his family or a man who sets under another man to teach his family. Don't get me wrong the church is a good starting point. But when do we graduate from church and start understanding for yourself. Where in the bible does it say we must set under a teacher for the rest of our lives. I can believe in the Most High whether in or outside church. This is not a commandment. It's become a tradition. And the bible tells us to break away from tradition.

In terms of emotion their are differences between the sexes quite obviously. Men can be quite emotional when they allow themselves to be. However, while men may sometimes react emotionally women's actual thinking is emotively-based. It is a matter of a type of thinking rather than a type of reaction, if you will.

@Dyakki if you had read what I wrote carefully you would have noticed that I wrote men "tend" to like cars and sports etc . Of course not every man likes the same thing and the same goes for women but in general men go for these things and women go for other things. Socialization has changed dramatically during the 20th century . Boys are being taught to be like girls and girls are taught to be like boys but nature dominates when it comes to how people act in terms of gender roles.

My experience with Christian women, in an oversimplified statement, has been horrendous. I profess Christ, love Christ and love His people. The vast majority of Christian women that I have been friends or worked with were rebellious! They take no consideration that I am first a brother in Christ. They have shown no respect for my masculine courtesies toward them as women. Most have been controlling and SELFISH!
How then do we have fellowship? Their behavior is in defiance of Scripture. Sorry.

I don't go to church anymore because it's full of gossiping women who judge everybody they lay eyes on. Plus it's full of overly large, bitter women who wear frowns on their faces 24/7... even while uttering a "thank you Jesus" anytime the preacher pauses. I can get disapproving looks from large women any day of the week, so I don't need the bother of putting a shirt and tie on for more of the same Sunday mornings.

Many men I think get discouraged by the discrephencies of some people who call themselves Christians and then how they end up acting. We need to be a good example to the world, a light to the world, and when anyone of us see others who say they are Christian yet they act like others act, with the same selfishness, rudeness, shallowness etc as a non Christian would act, that can get really discouraging. So that may be part of the reason.

I will just say this, Not everyone that says they are Christian or that go to Church are true Christians. Some may act it when they are there, but their heart isn't where it should be, and the rest of the week they don't act with the love of Christ. I am Christian, but I will admit, I havn't been to church in awhile. Some men may feel discouraged by SOME of the people there that don't show the fruit meaning they don't act and behave like true loving caring compassionate warm hearted Christians.

In religion in general we see the itemization, sexism, and overall belittling of women. If you think females dominate the religious spectrum, that's extremely interesting. Since it's fact that both the bible and karam were both written by men, for men. Otherwise I doubt it would be repeated inside such teachings that all women should remain silent and do what they're told. (Just using that single example.)

God is love, that is true. God wants you to be in alignment with His Will. But God delights in justice and truth. Justice and truth are not always nice, or soft, or kind, but they are necessary.

Finally, it is not a true church's fault if the women outnumber the men. The first question that must be answered is 'Is he really saved?' If the excuse 'The church doesn't cater to my ego or my maleness' is good enough, he needs another dose of the Holy Ghost because laziness, excuses and blame shirking can't possibly enter God's kingdom. I am saved. I owe NO one homage but the Lord. As for men, I respect the ways in which they have decided to live there lives.
Offering Jesus is just an "offer." If men do NOT take the Lord's ways of doing things, I must respect that. The same is true for the church.
My point is: Jesus is HEAD & other men are followers/bros. The church can not get mad if men do NOT "submit" to its way of doing things esp if their women are usurping the roles of men.

Not that it is an excuse that will hold up in judgment, but some men are drawn to things that build up the ego (pride) and the Christian church is the main one that preaches turning the other cheek and denying yourself, taking up your cross. These concepts are unattractive to humans in general, but males can be more turned off by it. That does not change God's word. Yes they are to be strong, but society teaches men to use their strength to tear down while a true church will teach us to build up

The flesh does not want to sacrifice the time or money that is required to attend church nor does the flesh want to submit to higher authority. Hence, the lack of black men in church. @simone56 Im a black man and I go to church. So maybe it is just your church. Plus I thought the ratio of the black woman population to black man population was bigger anyways. Plus I dont frame the bible into a male vs female context. The bible to me isnt so much to do with male, female authority as it has to do with God's authority so I dont see why you think we men feel like you women are taking something from us.

First, you are using several terms incorrectly.
Because most children in our community are raised in homes headed by women DOES not make it matriarchal. Matriarchy implies power. Women in our community have no power. we live in a patriarchal society.
the church, whether black or white, is NOT feminized. Because women make up most of the membership, they do not have power. Most churches are headed by men. Churches with boards of directors, deacons, etc. are all headed by men.

Also, on the feminization issue, this is probably due to the matriarchal element of our black culture. In modern black culture, the matriarch is a relatively recent thing. I think that has a lot to do with it: black women are FAR more religious and superstitious than the men. This has been documented in many statistics.

Third, Christianity is losing foothold in America and gaining less credibility and popularity as the years go by; look at Europe, they're mostly atheist now. A lot I know have left their Christian roots to settle for a different religion, or heck, no religion at all. Many of us stop going to church in college or were never interested in church to begin with; it was low on our priority list and we did it because our family went.

I think there are numerous reasons for this. For one thing, as men, we enjoy sports. Naturally, there's going to be less men at church on Sundays because that's NFL day. Secondly, men think in a more logical way and less emotional stance than most women; I'm sure a lot of men feel they have to go to church but don't really believe in it. I was the same way at one time, and I still am; I mostly go to church t please my mother and see people I know despite being atheist.

I come from a different standpoint. Every church I have attended since adulthood has had a very strong masculine presence. I appreciated them ministries b/c they reflected everything I grew up with.
In the churches I grew up in, this was actually an issue for me. The atmosphere that you described is a very real issue.
There is an order within the Body. Both men and women play a role in ensuring that order maintains proper balance.

The church in america is for the most part dead. I attend church when I travel to india every once in awhile; but I never attend american churches. To much show; singing, shouting, praising, and dancing for hours. I could do that at my house lol. In india they preach like jesus; convincing people of their sins and leading them to christ. In america the church is preaching the itching ears gospel(seed time and harvest). The church gets your seed(money) and you wait on god for a harvest LOL.

I told my Grandma not to say the rosary and worship Mary because she is being deceived in witchcraft. she does not listen to me. her son died at 50 in the most horrid bloody way, and her husband also died in his 50's in the most horrid way.
