Degrassi fell apart starting with season 8. Now everything is about Clare and her love interest. I want to see different type of storylines every single episode like how things use to be. In the past they would give each character a few episodes all about them and their storylines.
I've stopped watching since the 8th season. I don't like the new characters at all, the plotlines are so tired. Degrassi just needs to be canceled already before it goes further downhill. It was a good show until the old characters graduated in season 7/8
Degrassi is not the same like it use to be. The writers keep focusing on the same characters. This whole Eclare/Cake stuff have to stop!!! don't get me wrong I love degrassi been watching for years, but degrassi storylines has become DULL!!! degrassi the next generation was full of excitement... who else agrees???
I love Eli and Clare together... Now it's his chance to get back together since, Jake and Clare are over. Even though Eli's tried, he should try more. I'd take him back in a heartbeat.!

Watch The Boiling Point (first 24 episodes) then the 2nd half (next 20 episodes, including "In Too Deep" which is the last 12). Watch links on Degrassi Wiki. Google it.

i heard in season 11 (next season) clare finds a new boyfriend because in the final episode of in too deep she dumps him and jake (new character) dates her.

At the end of it, you distinctly see Eli aiming a gun at someone else before the screen fades to black and a gunshot is heard. Considering he's either trying to or considering killing another person (possibly Claire), it's better that the evil psychopath be the one to die.

One thing that bothers me is how Clare is now complaining how Eli is over-protective and is suffocating her and crap. BUT she is forgetting how in last season in 'Halo' she was doing the same thing, she broke into his room! And also, maybe is Eli over-protective because his last girlfriend died and is just a little scared? That could be a possibility

ok so this is all i know: After Hide and Seek part 2 the next two episodes will be named Chasing pavements. Fiona is the main storyline but its confirmed that eli and clare will be in it and in her twitter aislin said that clare will go through some emotional trauma. The writers don't want that Mary Sue fairy relationship, where the people meet young and stay together forever (I don't want that either), they want to show a true relationship, from the beginning spark to the ending coal. They want to show the journey the couples face, because the journey is more important than the end.

For the most part, High School couples break up at least somewhere down the road. They want to show accurate High School relationships, that means break ups are inevitable and need to be part of the story. They want the viewer to see the relationship build up and break down, like how it happens in life.
@PixieRebel10 I understand what you mean. Not all high school couples last and they've shown that for many, many couples on the show. But it shouldn't be every couple. The show should present a couple that goes through problems but still make it through and have a chance of a future. I've known many high school sweethearts that are married now. They should have a couple like that on Degrassi and it should be Eli and Clare.

Emma & Spinner are now married and went through several ups in down in their platonic relationship before they entered a tricky romantic relationship (which they entered in after already being married). It is possible, but rare, for a High School romance to last (not just ending in marriage, but survive after that step) But, although I do like EClare and find them to be an interesting couple, I just don't see them lasting.

Ok, wow. You all need to stop being so homophobic bout Holly J and Fiona. My opinion? I think it's quite hot, and there's tons of other comments about it being so, too. I don't see anyone slamming Riley and Zane? That's cute there, too. It's all adding up to the drama.
Eli can't die cause he signed for another year, so things might get better between him and Clare.
Holly J and Fiona may jus be a fling. Fiona may be les, but Holly J may be goofing around.

It's like why do the degrassi writers even bother making these couples and creating such strong stories for them if they will eventually end? @StikWitClassics They want to make it like life. High School romances are normally just that, meaning they only last in High School. The writers don't want that Mary Sue fairy relationship, where the people meet young and stay together forever (I don't want that either), they want to show a true relationship, from the beginning spark to the ending coal. They want to show the journey the couples face, because the journey is more important than the end.
Degrassi is life. In life couples break up

For the most part, High School couples break up at least somewhere down the road. They want to show accurate High School relationships, that means break ups are inevitable and need to be part of the story. They want the viewer to see the relationship build up and break down, like how it happens in life.

The show should present a couple that goes through problems but still make it through and have a chance of a future. I've known many high school sweethearts that are married now. They should have a couple like that on Degrassi and it should be Eli and Clare.

Emma & Spinner are now married and went through several ups in down in their platonic relationship before they entered a tricky romantic relationship (which they entered in after already being married). It is possible, but rare, for a High School romance to last (not just ending in marriage, but survive after that step) But, although I do like EClare and find them to be an interesting couple, I just don't see them lasting.

I hope degrassi doesn't have anymore tragic ends, but then again, that is how life is sometimes. And after all, it is based on life. Forgot to mention, the episodes of Drop the World will not air until April 15th and 22nd, so it will be awhile before we see the Fiona/Holly J scene. I'm so impatient! I want to see it so badly.
