The Bible is about Gods truth and Gods word, it is an outline of Gods will for our lives and how we should live in this evil and corrupted world, anyone that cannot see this is blind and doesnt know how to get their facts straight, i cannot argue this point enough, i also do not need anyone to tell me this because i figured it out on my own.

In the Old Testament, in Moses' day-there was no Mediator between God and man, the Messiah had not come to stand in between us and God's wrath. Now He has come, and we have hope. we do not have to be under His judgement, b/c he judged his own Son in our place. Jesus said:"I have come that you may have life, and life more abundantly" Jesus is our only hope. God does not owe us anything, we have no right to life, but he gives us life anyway. praise Him.
Have another read of Exodus chapters 7 through 12. It's one of the most appalling stories in literature. God hardens Pharaoh's heart repeatedly, then brings these horrible plagues, then kills the eldest son of EVERY Egyptian household and of their slaves, their prisoners, even their livestock, and all so that he can show off his magical powers. There was not one home without a death. Have you ever lost a child? I have. With a god like that, who needs enemies?

He then says it is fair if God punishes us. He created us apparently (not EVIDENTLY) knowing that we are born "sinners" and will "sin", etc. He punishes us for HIS mistakes then? That's unfairness.
People were moral before these commandments were even CREATED. We don't need a god to be moral. In fact it is ridiculous if you're only moral because a god TELLS you to. God didn't punish His Son and then go and punish us. Punishment is reserved for those who refuse to allow Christ to take their punishment, and insist on taking their own. God says that He's a god of love, and love is not love without the ability to choose. Because God will not force someone to choose something, He allows people to choose to take their own punishment if they want.

But God makes things very clear in His Word about who is going to hell, and those are the people who do not know Him and who have not believed in His sacrifice, repented, and then received His forgiveness. I don't have the authority to tell you what to do, but God has told you what to do not only by letting His Son die a tortured death in order to give you the opportunity to be forgiven, but by letting it be prophesied beforehand and recorded during and after the event....
Rapists and child abusers who say 'sorry' just in time will go to heaven. Atheists who live good, honest lives (as good as any Christian, but without belief in god) will burn in a lake of fire. Although I don't believe in an heaven/hell, I believe it's wrong to teach that whatever you do you will be forgiven, and the reverse of that: however good you are, if you don't believe in a character from mythology that you will be tortured for all eternity. I don't have authority to tell you anything but God has told you these things and that is what I try to offer to people. Not my opinions, not my personal suspicions about how "good" their lives are or how "religious" they are, but simply what God's words say to us.
God hasn't told me anything. He isn't there. He does not exist. Similarly, Santa has told me nothing - he isn't there either. Nor is Zeus. Or Ra. There are many stories of morality in the bible, but I would rank them with Aesop's fables, from which can also be learned a lot about morality. I like myths (eg god), they show how people haven't changed from ancient times - they all want explanations for things they don't understand, and so invent gods to compensate for a lack of knowledge.

Well, for me personally it's difficult to NOT tell people that God would save them, because it's such good news that I don't want people to miss out on it. I mean, if one person asks me to stop talking to them about it, I will, but that doesn't mean that I'll stop telling others or that my desire to do so would be quenched. This is really good news, and that's why it is my desire to share it....not only with information but with honestly loving and caring for people.
my reply to this is what I wrote below...In addition, I think it's great to share good stories, thoughts and feelings but religion is such a personal choice that it crosses the line of telling some what they should believe. And, let's not forget what works for some doesn't always work for others. If it's really as great as you say, I'll discover it in my own time and in my own way.
Yet Christians do seem to object when I tell them MY good news, that there is no god. I know I can't convert them, but they try to convert ME. I believe that morals don't need to come from an ancient text, but have developed in society over time. We don't have slavery now, an evolution of society's morals (not the bible's, which ACCEPTS slavery). It's good news that I don't have to serve a higher power, and that I have to take responsibility for my own actions if I want to live a good life.
You say "it's good news that I don't have to serve a higher power". Have you thought about the idea that you're always serving something? You may not be serving God, but you are a slave to other things - be it greed, lust, deceit, hate, etc.
Can you really be good? I doubt so. God has decided that no one is good enough! No one is perfect, if any individual's moral standards could be considered good? then this world is relative. In the Old Testament, in Moses' day-there was no Mediator between God and man, the Messiah had not come to stand in between us and God's wrath. Now He has come, and we have hope. we do not have to be under His judgement, b/c he judged his own Son in our place. Air isn't believed in. Unlike God, it can be tested and analyzed. A barometer measures air pressure. A transmitter measures air velocity (and temperature and volume). So, with instruments, you can measure many physical characteristics of the air. We can see objective evidence of the air.
God can't be measured objectively or tested scientifically. Since God is excluded from science, it is highly unlikely a God exists, but not impossible. Love has nothing to do with it.

Religion does suck. You know why? Cuz it's not what God wanted....its like having a manual for dating. You can follow it exactly and you're never going to have a perfect relationship. Same for religion! You can follow so many rules and make up whatever ones, but its not gonna lead you to God. Like dating, a true relationship is based on trust and love. Simple......

jbinders, imagine that you found the cure for cancer. You found the one thing that will make every cancer patient well. But you dont tell anyone. you dont think its important to tell the one thing that will save their life- thats Christianity witnessing in a nutshell- we have the answer to life through Jesus Chirst who came to save us from going to hell. why WOULDNT we want to share it? Not telling is like keeping a cure from the sick and dieing. think about it could you keep that to yourself?

If an athiest finds the cure to cancer (which is highly likely), they will gladly share it. If your god was so powerful, he would cure cancer through prayer. If me and you were to both get cancer, and there was a cure, you can pray to god to cure it, I'll take my chances on a man-made, proven, cure. Care to take the challenge?

Im not going to spend my life arguing with you, but, first off, when did i ever say that we have problems because you dont believe in God- although that is what i believe, i saw that nowhere in my previous post- second- if i were to get cance- i would get treatment, but i would pray to be cured as well- and if i wasnt cured on earth, i will be cured in heaven (and if you ask me- id rather go to heaven then be stuck here)

I'm happy Jesus loves you, I really am but I don't run around telling everyone my mother and father love me or you for that matter. It's kind of like learning how to play baseball. As a kid, you either learn how to hit and catch a ball or you don't. Some kids play sports and some play instruments and who am I to tell those kids that they have it wrong and should switch....Not me, I'm not telling them, it's not my place. Nor, is it the Christens place to tell me I'm going to heaven or hell.

But God makes things very clear in His Word about who is going to hell, and those are the people who do not know Him and who have not believed in His sacrifice, repented, and then received His forgiveness. I don't have the authority to tell you what to do, but God has told you what to do not only by letting His Son die a tortured death in order to give you the opportunity to be forgiven, but by letting it be prophesied beforehand and recorded during and after the event....

Rapists and child abusers who say 'sorry' just in time will go to heaven. Atheists who live good, honest lives (as good as any Christian, but without belief in god) will burn in a lake of fire. Although I don't believe in an heaven/hell, I believe it's wrong to teach that whatever you do you will be forgiven, and the reverse of that: however good you are, if you don't believe in a character from mythology that you will be tortured for all eternity. Doesn't give a great view of religion.

I don't have authority to tell you anything but God has told you these things and that is what I try to offer to people. Not my opinions, not my personal suspicions about how "good" their lives are or how "religious" they are, but simply what God's words say to us.

God hasn't told me anything. He isn't there. He does not exist. Similarly, Santa has told me nothing - he isn't there either. Nor is Zeus. Or Ra. There are many stories of morality in the bible, but I would rank them with Aesop's fables, from which can also be learned a lot about morality. I like myths (eg god), they show how people haven't changed from ancient times - they all want explanations for things they don't understand, and so invent gods to compensate for a lack of knowledge.

Well, for me personally it's difficult to NOT tell people that God would save them, because it's such good news that I don't want people to miss out on it. I mean, if one person asks me to stop talking to them about it, I will, but that doesn't mean that I'll stop telling others or that my desire to do so would be quenched. This is really good news, and that's why it is my desire to share it....not only with information but with honestly loving and caring for people.

my reply to this is what I wrote below...In addition, I think it's great to share good stories, thoughts and feelings but religion is such a personal choice that it crosses the line of telling some what they should believe. And, let's not forget what works for some doesn't always work for others. If it's really as great as you say, I'll discover it in my own time and in my own way.

Yet Christians do seem to object when I tell them MY good news, that there is no god. I know I can't convert them, but they try to convert ME. I believe that morals don't need to come from an ancient text, but have developed in society over time. We don't have slavery now, an evolution of society's morals (not the bible's, which ACCEPTS slavery). It's good news that I don't have to serve a higher power, and that I have to take responsibility for my own actions if I want to live a good life.

Can you really be good? I doubt so. God has decided that no one is good enough! No one is perfect, if any individual's moral standards could be considered good? then this world is relative. There must be a existence of utter and extremely good(god) and a extremely bad(devil). Even you acknowledge good and bad and morals, if there is no God, your morals will stand where? What will it amount to? What use is it after you die?

The most profound statement made in this video was when he describes the feeling of love and laughter then asks, "what is that?...To me, that points to God." This is a defining statement about ALL religions. The need to answer the questions about life. Frankly, the purpose is the journey into those and many more questions, not the answer of God.

again I will use children as a example yet again. Lets say that your kid is 25, they look you in the eye and start to cry. Saying I want jesus to be real, I honestly believed, i believed in him for a decade. But I find it mentally impossible to believe anymore.. do you look them in the eye and say "No.. you just refuse to believe". That is a SLAP across many atheists who honestly want to believe.. who honestly tried..

Christianity is the ONLY "religion" where God reaches down to love and save His people. He does not require them to "work" their way into heaven- He does the work for them.
Allah, on the contrast, is an impersonal God that requires works from his people for His approval.

The evidence is in one book, written thousands of years ago, which has historical innaccuracies, vague prophecies which it says were fulfilled (but are not coroborated by contemporary historians) and which contains so many contradictions that it cannot be inerrant word of ANYONE, certainly not 'god'. Your 'evidence' exactly that for other religions - ancient myths passed on by people ignorant of science who had no explanation for the nature and invented gods to cover their lack of knowledge.
