  • I can barely hold a 8lbs bowl. if its suppose to be 10% of my body wait I should be holding a 12lbs bowl not going to happen.

  • @minnieclips how old are you 8?

  • I weight 72kg. How heavy should my ballbe please?

  • @wolfxinstein like he said you want ball that does not stress your arm anything that feels comfortable but not to light and finger holes that are comfortable to the bowling allie i go to all the 9 10 and 11 balls there finger holes are like for babies

  • but why is he holding 15lb ball he weighs easily over 160lbs ?

  • The ball weight thing is a recommendation guys. The ideal starting weight for beginners is a 12 pound ball.

  • why aren't this videos numbered?, it's confusinf for us begginers...

  • i choose my balls down there

  • i weight 160 and 10 percent of that is 16. WTF would i look like using a 16 pound ball. That math logic sux. Sorry, but it does.

  • but what if 10 percent of your body weight is 16 pounds and it still stresses your arm?

  • lol, when he said "insert your thumb hole", i could've swore he said something else...

  • I used a 6 pound ball and got 2 strikes in a row :)

  • haha expertvillage..automatic dislike.

  • Great video.

  • "When you insert your thumb into the thumb hole." Sorry, I don't like sticking my finger in holes...unless it's my girlfriend's.

  • Uh I weight 155 so 10% is roughly 15 lbs but I was chucking 8 lbs tonight horribly. 15 felt too heavy.

  • I weigh 245 and roll a 6 lb ball....most shots never touch the lane before they hit the pins...

  • @electraglider01 If you can throw a 6lb ball that far maybe you should be playing baseball instead LOL.

  • @circlelt1 Tried baseball- everyone complained a 6 lb ball was breaking too many bats....went back to bowling...

  • lol im 118 and i bowl with a 15 pound ball so thats not right for my to bowl 10% of body weight

  • lol you dont want to take your weight in matters but your muscle mass. in other words pick up a ball and throw it but dont let go. if it flies out of your hand its to heavy

  • okay, I'm going to try bowling with a 14lb (that's 10%) ball tomorrow night. That seems heavy, but as he says, the idea is to roll the ball, not throw it. Oh and thanks to everyone who is criticizing him, hope that makes you and I bowl better.

  • @wazzawood true say... why would people watch this and then rag on the poor guy... I just dont wanna be such a shitty bowler.

  • Bowled with the 14lb ball. It took a game to get used to it but after that, my score went up. I normally bowl around 120 - but with the heavier ball I bowled 150 and 154.

I also watched his video on how to bowl, which helped.

  • 10% of bodyweight?? how ridiculous!!! this guy really knows nothing. i urge ppl to stop watching his dribble on youtube.

  • O.O He says "From 6 pound's, (gesturing the hand with 6 pounds) to 16 pounds (gesturing the hand with "15" pounds). Can he not read?

  • I'd say 5% not 10% of your body weight! Guys usually weigh about 160-200 lbs, thats 16 right there. not all guys use 16 lbs, and 16lbs is usually way to big for my fingers. I weigh 260 and I use a 10-12 lb ball!

  • @Jebrone

I weigh 220 and bench over 800 lbs. Your saying I should use an 11 pound bowling ball? haha. Very funny.

  • @SadegoGG Umm yeah... if you feel comfortable with it, you can hold the ball firmly. However benching doesn't mean a single thing when your bowling a ball. I have a feeling your just showing off to everyone that you can bench 800 POUNDS :O OMG! *cough cough* If the ball feels to light than don't use it! Usually you use a ball that fits your fingers pretty nicely and doesnt weigh to heavy. but obviously your one of those off set people...

  • @Jebrone

How many professional bowlers have you developed?

  • @SadegoGG over 100!

  • @SadegoGG 11 pounds is 5% of 220 you muscle bound mooron stop the roids there eating your brain

  • @shelbycounty2003

Whats wrong with being 220 pounds? And no, i'm not on steroids. I've merely studies weight lifting and it just so happens most people do it incorrectly. I don't even work out a lot either, only like 3-4 days a week. I study politics and economics, i'm not some type of gym rat that you are picturing.

  • @SadegoGG I weigh 240 and can bench over 300 lbs. but wait that's not the impressive part. I know my math and 10% of your weight is 22lbs not 11 lbs... pretty impressive huh? you're welcome.

  • @murphy0847

Where did you get your doctorates degree in Mathematics or Physics?

  • @SadegoGG Well I'm actually still working on my Doctorate at UOPSF Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry...

  • @murphy0847

What the hell does Dentistry have to with being smart or mathematics? Hell, dentists are retarded because they eat sodium fluoride so much.

  • @SadegoGG haha good one.

  • I went bowling recently & had a great time. I'm in a wheelchair & would be nice for some tips. Sometimes it doesn't go just right.

  • nice balls you pedophile

  • thats hecka dumb.. using a ball 10% or you body weight..

  • It's called a Bowling Alley not a bowling center lollll

  • It's bowling... grab a ball and throw it at the pins as hard as you can. Whooooopie!

  • @IamDarkStar2012 hey fuck you ass whole its harder than you think cock sucker!!!

  • the person was joking

    calm the fuck down

  • @theAndrewcain its called a joke your the the ass HOLE here geez chill

  • @IamDarkStar2012

if you want your high game to have more than 2 digits do not do this.

This guy should be fired from the "expert village" too, fingers do not bend where he is saying the hole should be. you only want your first knuckle in the finger holes.

  • @IamDarkStar2012 i have same

  • @IamDarkStar2012 It isn´t that easy...

  • @IamDarkStar2012 then as you draw the ball back keep your hand underneath the ball bring it to the explosion point take your thumb out of the socket and rip your hands up the side putting a curve on it and make sure your throwing it from the right so it spins into the pocket! :D

  • the game

  • I find that sometimes even though the person may weigh 100 pounds a 10 pound ball is still a little too heavy. I agree with the last person I do prefer to play with my own balls but when I do play with strange balls I find it better to find a slightly lighter ball because I have more fun.

  • Do you play with strange balls often? How many times have you played with strange balls? Sorry couldn't resist :P

  • Not sense I got my own balls to play with. Lol

To answer your question a lot !

  • I don't like to hold balls in the hands... unless they're my own balls...

  • @zzrszz

    gau :P

  • @zzrszz even that must be yuck!

  • im 150 and i use 6 just for spin

  • Isn't that a 15 lb pound ball?

  • i mean weight is good but just because you weight more doesn't mean you should have like a 16 pound ball. when i was growing up i went by weight. when i started i was eight and i think i either used a 9 pound or a 10 pound. now i am 15 and use a 14 but i could probably go 15. so i recomend more on age than weight but that is just me

  • doesn't it matter how strong your wrist and fingers are?

  • um with the wrist there are wrist straps that you can wear to make sure your wrist stays in place without a lot of movement um with fingers it doesn't matter a whole lot if you do have weaker wrists and fingers i would start with a lighter ball weight and use the wrist strap until you are confortable with them movement then try to do it without the strap or you can continue to use the strap if you have anymore questions let me know

  • the best thing you can do is take the bowling ball just put your trow arm in front of you en on shoulder hight try to hold the ball 15 seconds if you can't the ball is to heavy for you.

  • @sjeanl Thanks for the info.

  • Omg im using 14 Pounds and i weight 80 pounds S:

  • i use a 9 pound ball and im not 90 pounds

  • He don't know what hes talking about he said the 15lb ball was a 16lb. He just needs to comb his hair

  • I'm 90 pounds. I use a 10 ball.

  • lies!

  • lavaraider....your fat

  • all u morons saying what weight u throw or should throw according to the vid or how much u weigh.... piss off... he clearly says balls r from 6-16 lbs.... ur all fuckin stupid... he's clearly speaking to novice bowlers or if u will the open bowler.... if ur experienced then chances r u throw a heavier ball... ir ur unexperienced then u should start small and work ur way up... goddam i hate stupid fuckin morons...

  • I weigh 99999999999999lbs

  • Then I think you should throw a 5 pound ball right?

  • i weigh 300lbs should i use a 30lb ball lol XD btw im losing weight so yeah dont mess with my weight i know im fat

  • Sometimes it's better to use a drastically light ball. I'm 170 lbs. and I use an 8 pounder. I just throw it down the alley like a bolt of lightning, and it very rarely has a chance to go off course. Too bad all the 8 pounders are like, atomic pink and magenta.

  • That is so true regarding the color of the 8 lb bowling balls. LOL!

  • I'm a 140 lbs so i should be rolling a 10 lbs ball? Pfft.. where do they get all the wacky ideas?

  • no, you should be throwing a 14 pounder, although i weight just over 130 and i throw a 15 so i get your point

  • I am 140 lbs too, however I don't follow their exact weight recommendation of the ball. I have only bowled a few times in my life. I went from 7 pound ball to a 12 pound ball. Maybe, I could bowl a 14 pound or 16 in the future.

Another important factor is the size of your hands. If you have smaller hands, it is better off to pick a lighter weight. My hands are like an average 12 or 13 year old. In all, your bowling experience is the most important factor.

  • u idiot... he said 10% of ur body weight.... 10% of 140 is 14.... derrrrrr. god i hate to be ur math teachers...

  • wtf the first vid from expertvillage that doesnt suck ass O_O

  • WHy i throw a 13 pnd ball and i am 70 lbs

  • lol did a cloud a helium pass by?

  • Good adivce.. Im going to a party on fri and need all the help i can get. XD

  • how was your score ? did you did it good?

  • ok just by the weight of the ball doesnt determine how hard its going to hit, if your throwing a 15 and you can barely lift it and you throw it down the lane its going to go slowly causing the ball to hit light, it all matters is what ball you use and how much force you put into your throw

  • Wrong. Bowling is about rolling the ball, not throwing it. So unless you're rolling a 15 lb ball at 5 mph and rolling a 12 lb ball at 30 mph, the speed will make little difference. You need to be able to adjust the speed of your ball to compensate for oil conditions.

  • Shoooooot, Im short, small and can throw a 15lbs ball....Im just comfortable with it........

  • who cares.......

  • I know, the black ones never get you anywhere

  • lol nice subtle racist joke B)

  • how the fuck is that 'nice'

  • rofl at the black joke

  • Thats what a lot of pro shop people told me

  • About 13-16 pounds balls are gonna be hitting pretty much the same in the back end, so dont stress out people lol...Im 18, weigh between the high 150's to the low 160's and throw a 15 pounder.

  • ok im use 14 lbs and i play good you not play whit more or less thats is all right im a player of bowling two years ago

  • Hello, I'm 16 years old and starting with bowling as a hobby. My weight is 70 Killograms, So I should pick a 14 pound ball to roll with ?

And what's with the core in bowlingballs ? I see lot's of diffrent kinds ? Reply please :)

  • Yes, you might even try a 15 pounder.

  • im 14 and weigh like 145ish. i bowl with a 12. its great for me.

  • i have a jonny bravo ball

  • erm im 12 and weigh 42 and i use a 8 pounds ball,is that suitable for me?

  • u should be using a 6 pound ball

  • If the 8 pound ball is suits you, then it's alright for you to use an 8.

  • if u hold it to your side and have no problems keeping it there without moving around and struggling, then it should fit you

  • Well, I weigh 130 and use a 13 lb ball, or 12 either or.

  • Erhh.... GOOD LIKE i'm 170 pounds and i dunnoe wad ball to choose HELP ME... actualy i'm 14 yrs old... tall too...

  • Late Reply

But I am 14 And Been Bowling Since I Was 3

You Shouls Probably Use About a 15-16 Pound Ball If It Isnt Too Heavy For U

    GOOD LUCK

  • ya im like 177 and 16 yrs, i bowl with a 13 pound ball

  • i weigh 130 pounds and i use a 9 pound ball

  • hes in a bowling alley but i hear no pins

  • i weigh about 45 kilos and i use a 13 pond ball

  • lol! in the intro hes holding a fifteen pounder but says "ranges from 9lbs (holds ball) and sixteen lbs (holds up fifteen) bahaha

  • i think his balls dropped.

  • LOL

  • his bowling balls are sagging ... ;p

  • What an ingenious joke.

  • DANG! Look how long the title is!

  • LOL!

  • if anyone is looking for a curve ball get a make called STORM they are great

  • i got ripped...the dude that sold me my first custom bowling gave me a spare ball this thing does not curve any brands i should look for that do curve??

  • usually burnswick makes balls that hook thats one of the easiest brands to find

  • it would be good to give your videos numbers, so people could watch them in the right order.

the video itself is good stuff, thx.

  • i am younger and just started bowling a few years back i went from a 33 using lane balls 2 a 143 and 2 of my own balls

  • well ya the balls there are just crapy plastic ones

  • hes cool :)

  • donde consigo unos tips de bowling en español?=

  • lol and im a lefty...

  • He didnt mention the problem about thumb sticking inside the hole once it swells up. He didnt explain the use of baby powder or chapstick to make the thumb slide out easier. Chapstick is more useful for making the thumb slip out of the ball easier than baby powder though.

  • Baby powder is illegal to use in bowling. Unless it's for usage on your balls only.

  • I wonder if the lane in this video carries French extenders in the men's room, like my favourite lane back home. I can't think of a better reward for bowling a perfect 97 point game.

  • ajajajaj FRIKIIII

  • Well if ur so good why do watch this huh?

  • yes, great. very informative. clap clap.

  • who gives a fuck? great video.

  • thanks

  • arigato

  • bowling center? i call it a bowling alley...

  • what is he looking at

  • lol

  • do you work in a pro shop if you do you are supid. the right ball is when your knuckle is in the middle of the hole and a lot of people use a ball that is finger tipped.

  • get a real bowling ball not a house ball

  • What a dumb comment. He's explaining how to pick a house ball, so why would he not be showing a house ball? Idiot.

  • i like a light ball im 15 115 poungs and i use a 9 pound

  • when i use light balls,I through them to the gutter. I currently use a 14lb and a 13lb ball on the house lane

  • i am 180 and throw about 15-16mph my rev is little over 300rpms and with a 16 pound ball

  • whats rev?

  • Revolutions

generally the more revs you put on a bowling ball, the more likely it would hook, unless it is a polyester or house ball.

  • polyester....isn't that a fabric?

  • Polyester is a form of plastic, along with anything basically that statrs with "poly".

  • I'm 14 years old, weigh about 120 pounds and throw a 14 strike ball, and a 13 pound spare ball(just so I can go hard and straight). Age works pretty well for younger bowlers too.

  • blaaaaaaaaaaaa

    blaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    blaaaaaaaaaaaa

    SHUT-UP

  • yea bull shit u got a 900 series at 11.

  • He's full of shit..lil bitch

  • Impossible, thats never been done.

  • Hey man just letting you know that it has been done. But i think it has only been done a few times in a sanctioned league. 9 is the official number I believe. Not trying to bust your balls you wanted to let you know.

  • I wonder why little fag kids need to lie about something like this, espically bowling. And if you got a 900 series, you would be alot more famous than a little prick on youtube trying to find a gullable little child to believe this crap.

  • I always chuck the ball half way down the alley! It works for me, because you get a lot of power, spin and accuracy. That said, it is embarracing hearing the thud, and I'm not even sure if it's allowed.

Can anyone tell me if it is?

  • its not soo much that its not allowed, its just more of an annoyance to other bowlers around you, yes it will happen from time to time, but constantly? i reccommend changing techniques, plus it is easier to hurt yourself by "chucking" the ball

  • It's all right, I have changed technique. I've found one that works much better for me.

  • 15 years old 150 pounds 14.

  • I weigh 140 and I use a 15 when i'm bowling righty and a 13 when lefty.. this guy makes no sense at all.

  • im 15 turning 16 in january...i have 4 balls i use...all 15 pounds..i would never go up to 16 pounds even when im older...better reaction with a lighter ball...o ya and i weight about 170 pounds...but his 10% thing makes no sence

  • Maybe that makes no sence for an advenced player, but it can be a great tip for a complete beginner who has absolutely no idea how heavy a ball should be !

  • Real bowling doesn't have holes in it and is the size of a pumpkin

  • This cant be right, cause I weigh 130 and use a 8 :\. Highest I've gotten is 99 but I just started bowling like a week ago. I tried with a ten but kept getting gutterballs.

The 10 is just too much for me. Did he research this stuff?

  • i dunno howmuch i weigh in lbs, but im 75 kg and i throw all 15 pounders

    high game = 300

    highseries= 804 ( over 3 that is :))

  • im 101 pounds and use a 14

  • I was hoping for types of hook balls, this is beginner stuff. I was hoping for pro tips. Weight isn't a huge deal and it's always a pain looking for a ball that fits my hand. You don't have to worry if you buy your own ball.

  • HAHAHA I'm 13 years old, I weigh 118 and throw a 15 pounder perfectly with a 170 average and a 246 high game HAHAHAHA!!!!

  • Weeeeeellll......

i'm 12 years old, 13 in november and throw a 15 pound strike ball, and a 16 pound spare ball, fairly well, with a 169 average and a 244 high game HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

  • Lol, I weigh 275 and I was just bowling with a 10lb ball yesterday, I was actually doing pretty well, i bowled a 172:) Highest I have ever bowled (in my 10 times ever bowling)

  • I weigh 118, bowl with a 12

  • I weigh 80 and I use 8 perfect

  • haha, i'm 265 and i use a 13

  • The body-ball weight "ratio" is not a rule, it's just a starting point :)
