  • Hi When is the best time to eat after a burst training?

  • Dr. BJ Hardick nuff said...

  • will this make me lose muscle i wann lose like 30 pounds but gain 10

  • @superrobotmunkyman You definitely won't lose muscle bursting -- but you can, quite easily if you are not EXTREMELY CAREFUL doing distance cardio!

  • can i do it before bed time and get the same results

  • @alwa3r probably not studied enough to say -- but better than not doing it at all!

  • i tried running full speed and injured my knees , im 50 pounds overweight 5' 10" 238

  • So we know the routing what did you change about your diet?

  • I've got a question like achillesmoose's, I do cardio three or four times a week on my bike, and I do long distance bike trips and race. If I replaced the biking cardio with burst training, would I still be able to do these long distance bike trips and have good endurance?

  • @yommomalama -- yes, my father does distance running (He runs a 2:58:00 marathon at age 60!) and integrates burst training to maintain optimum levels of fitness. it can only help you for the surge bouts of your exercise! if you are an avid endurance athlete, keep up that element of training, and you won't lose it!

  • @bjhardick thanks, your father must be a great athlete

  • Umm... If I stop doing endurance aerobics and switch to this, will I still be in good endurance shape, say to run and swim long distance races, or would I only be able to do sprints and not be in the best endurance shape?

  • @achillesmoose -- if you cease any type of training, you will indeed lose strength in that area over time. It does not mean however that you can only do one or the other, or that opposite forms of training will limit the opposite type of activity.

  • Can you workout the day after you do your burst training? Like lifting weights.

  • @vwong0215 yes!

  • what kind of resistance training can i do on the day i do burst? is regular normal stuff ok??? like legs one day, shoulders and chest one day and back and arms the third? what intensity and duration mus i adop for the resistance training? how many repetitions?

  • is burst burning good for me if i want to make my body fitter? i don't have overweight at all but my body isn't fit and i want to lose fat and make my stomach look better, my hips and etc.

losing 5 pounds will be good for me too but not more than that. will it work for me?

  • if it isn't muscle, it must be fat or skin & bones. So I would say yes. If you do a rapid burst of 5 minutes straight of push-ups (until you just can't do any more) a couple times a week, switching targeted area each day. Can't imagine it doing anything but toning.

  • @Seashell70 -- absolutely! any burst/surge training will help you reach your IDEAL weight

  • LOL,,bjhardick

  • Does it mess up the flow of weight loss if you do the "burst training" 3 days a week and do some other form or excercise on the off days like an aerobics class or just walking, or lifting weights?

  • In all honestly, if weight loss is your primary goal, I would try burst training ONLY in conjunction with resistance training for at least 90 days until your hormones get back under control. Distance training can elevate your stress hormones and cortisol, and supress your immune system. Once you start losing weight, add some back in and see how you respond.

  • If you really want to lose weight you should go to: combatingfat.blogspot, com

  • lol hardick wow people these days i think we are running out of last names for our chilfren XD

  • yeah burst training refers to shocking your muscles into reacting and burning calories. shocking is not refering to current, but to "surprising" the muscles, and confusing. same method used by Crossfit (police and fire fighter training), beachbody, etc. All evidence shows that it's effective.

  • lol dude your name is bjhardick.

  • all the research shows it is most effective to do Burst Training 3 days per week, NOT on consecutive days. (You want to give yourself 36 hours of fat-burning post-exercise before you do it again.)

  • dude your name kicks ass

  • so wat days r we supposed to do it one after another or like rest a day then do it again (is it bad to do it 7 times a week??

  • hi, can someone tell if you do this everyday or every other day.

  • i was actual reading some random studies online about the same thing several months ago. subjects working out for even less time (ie., 3 minutes per session a few times a day or a few times a week) and getting insane results. how could i have forgotten?? so thanks for the testimonial about this woman's experience.
