My biggest gripe with FEAR 3 (aside from generally not being particularly good) is that the first FEAR (and to somewhat of a lesser degree, it could be argued, FEAR 2) innovated in the FPS genre in many ways, and all FEAR 3 does is copy other popular shooters, and it does no credit to the franchise. Disappointing game, but I'll still enjoy watching Guude play it.

Fear 1 was released on the XBox 360 not long after launch, I myself played it and it wasn't at all different to the pc version, the pc version was released in 2005, and the console version a year later. The evolution of the franchise isn't so much to do with consoles but more the trends of every fps to date, almost all of them nowadays integrate a cover system and a regeneration HP system, it's just the direction that developers have gone, and it's a shame that they all conform to that one idea.

This game actually plays much better than the other games tbh. Ive already played through all of the games in the series and this one dominates in gameplay. but it still feels very cheesy sometimes.

This game seems to be such a bitter disappointment. What the gaming industry doesn't understand these days is that you can't compensate for good gameplay with graphics and swearing.

It's not like the graphics are all that good, either. This should just have been a more refined version of FEAR and not an experimental test bed to test ideas every other FPS has already had. Real shame...

Honestly, you might as well have done the game co-op. There is maybe one or two "scary" moments (mostly the nightmare shadow thing that even Alma is afraid of). The vast, vast majority of the game is standard cover-and-shoot gameplay. And honestly, while your single-player stuff is always entertaining, you really shine when you have someone to bounce ideas/conversation off of. But I realize you've probably played a good portion of the game by now, so, oh well.
