I have a 2009 Base Honda Fit. I have plain old Honda keys. In the video, the key you inserted already is a keyless entry key. Can I order a keyless entry key from you, and then program it to remotely unlock the doors, as you did by inserting my normal, plain Honda Fit key? I do have power door locks in this Fit.

is it necessary to get the key cut at a honda dealer or can you cut it anywhere. Also how much is it to get it cut at the honda dealer?

@paulsun Cost will vary but besides cutting the key also has to be programmed to the ignition.

This is great; I'm pleased to hear I can program the locks to work remotely myself - so I went ahead and ordered one from you. The only problem I foresee is the dealer giving me a problem when I bring in the blank for a sport model when I have a base model and refusing to cut it and program the immobiliser chip without my paying the extra money. I get that vibe because they did not even seem happy when I asked if I could even bring in an OEM Honda spare that I had purchased from another dealer.

Let me get this straight? If I buy a 09 or 2010 Fit Base, all I need to add keyless entry is to use this key as a remote fob with the base key? No other parts are required to install since power locks are standard on the base? Just follow the video to program it? I am looking at a base manual transmition and all I wish to add is keyless entry. Also does this procedure work with the lights blinking and horn sound if lock is pressed twice like on my 05 civic?
