Man, people think this band is a joke!!! I*t's true, they only started it for their TV Show Back Of The Y, but the band became more famous then the Show. LONG LIVE DANNY PARKER!!
Typical standard fare rehashed stale rock from a band whose main attraction lies in their name, which they ripped off of an classic post-punk Canadian band with six albums to their credit.
@clydegarbo - Tru dat Clyde, saw Deja Voodoo from Montreal many times. "Too Cool to Live, Too Smart to Die" says is all. Best thing that ever came from the South Pacific is the Hoodoo Gurus.
yea i live in ozzie now im from nz but they r quite big over here they were more popular than thirsty murc at the time... not in anyway saying i like thirsty mirc lol
Saw these guys at the thirsty dog (bar in Auckland) last saturday. I got to shake hands with Chris Stapp(bassist) and Matt Heath (Guitarist without the mask). They played this song along with some new ones. Chris only had 3 strings on his bass for the entire night.
kiwi music at its greatest, we are the drinking legends of the world... you are deja voodoo and you rock a fuck more than they do ;)... no way get outta there with the southern gold/draught/ranfurly/bushmandraught or double brown.. bull crap.. that stuff is horrid!
Too bad this isnt more popular here in Kiwiland. Instead our "Rock" Stations insist on playing U2 every fucking hour on the hour. I made a bet with a friend once that he couldnt put on the Rock FM for 1 hour without hearing a U2. He lost. We've made another bet that It would Be either U2/Green Day/Foo Fighters if he just turned it on randomly. We've did it 3 times so far, 3 times I've won. EASY MONEY.
Long as we dont do it one Sunday Nights when Paul's EXCELLENT AXE ATTACK is on, im golden.
Yeah but rock is a wide genre, they do their best and you can't say the djs aren't pretty 'rock n roll'. I don't think i've ever heard a song off the rock or hauraki that i didn't like. And if the alternative is house/remix crap on the edge or zm...i'l stick to the rock.
It is a wide genre, but it shouldn't be THAT wide... Why the hell would I want to hear Jack Johnson on a station that plays System of a Down and Metallica? Call it whatever you want but if you classify that as "Rock" we're gonna need 2 stations. "The Rock" and "The Soft Coc..err... 'The Soft Rock"
Well it is that wide :D And i can't say i've ever heard jack johnson on the rock, but that would definitely piss me off. Everytime I listen i always hear good shit, and trust me as far as music goes i'm not a soft cock and i enjoy far heavier shit than you'd hear on the axe attack. Jack johnson though i definitely don't call rock and have to agree that is pretty shit.
@tjs8n Yea it's a great compromise listen to rock that's getting stale or listen to "rock" that's a disgrace to the genre shit there's gotta be some good new acts out there why arent I hearing them?
Well I was looking for the proper Deja Voodoo out of Canada - Swamp Rock at it's best but I have to say this is quite good
