I have to say this dude is a killer on guitar. I've never taken the time to check out the new lineup all I've heard is the newest album. Got to love a guy that plays we will rock you as a demo song :D.
@zack9922299 He is actually playing a custom made guitar. The guy that made it took metal bodies, and let them rust in a lake and made a guitar out of it! Metal body!
hello ikmultimedia, im just asking something (pls answer! hehe) i know this whole stuff (irig) is available in "signed" stores in the western world but is it available in music stores in Indonesia? People has it in my country but ive never seen people buying them trough stores, but through ebay or buying overseas
I BOUGHT A IPHONE JUST FOR THIS APP AND LEAD...I USE A 2 x h&h PRO VARI 100 SPEAKERS WITH A PEAVEY XM-4 MIXER HEAD AND IBANEZ JEM (BLACK AND GOLD) I HOPE WHEN IT ARRIVES ITS SICK! AND NOT JUST ANOTHER PIECE OF SHIT TOY....BUT TO BE ENDORSED BY g n r IT MUST BE DECENT.
@CorporalGoogoo If it does it will sound pretty bad. A proper guitar signal requires more than a simple adapter it requires circuitry like impedance adapter, etc.
@steakface44 Richard Fortus - Gn'R guitarist since 2002! And he's FUCKIN' AWESOME! I mean, if he isn't brilliant, he would not be in Gn'R, am I right?!
@iLengzai Im dumb because i dont know who the fuck this guy is? ??? guns and roses has been done for a long time....dont try to act like this fucking dude is relevant in any way.
what I'd like to know is, could you run your guitar, into say, a fuzz pedal of your own, then into the clean channel on the softwear without it causing a problem?
@ikmultimedia thx that helped! but there is still some when i want distortion.. i will check the FAQs, but overall a nice thing! and great support! :)
@loaduponguns01 around $39.95, you can download the Free version of the app or either LE or Full for more gear (or add gear via in-app purchase to the Free version)
Hello, Can someone tell me what their experience is as relates to the actual quality of sound this puts out?.. assuming you have a decent amp/speaker set-up? Does/do the preamp controls this features, actually have the same quality of output as are part of some of the better amps that one would purchase?
In short, if you wanted to perform with it, could you effectively use it, in a way that is better/more versitile than a typical integrated preamp/amp?
Just got mine today. A few of these came in to the music store I work at. Haven't heard if these until today. Works great !! Yes, it is the best iPhone app ever !! I also put it on my old iPhone 3G. Good to see a demo with a great guitarist !!
@ikmultimedia but how are you suppose to plug into the irig when one is for the guitar and the other is for headphones, which is too small for another cord to hook into from the amp or is there some special type of cord that can do that?
@garljr It is 1/8" stereo out (headphone jack) but there's an instruction sheet included that details what type of cables are best used for plugging into amps, mixers, PA, etc. Best bet is 1/8" stereo to DUAL MONO 1/4"
@SymbolicNickolaus with headphones it can be loud, and if you run out to an amp, mixer, PA, etc it can get as loud as you want (or louder, but be safe!)
I am getting one if these it is incredible. Don't go by the demos on YouTube they sound so much better in person! With this and GarageBand I will be doing so much more recording! And late night rehearsals of songs for my coverband? I can do it in the same room as my kids now or while they are in bed! Wow!!!!!! Richard is right this IS the best thing to happen to the iPhone!!!!!
I dont have a cell phone but my wife does. I dont know anything about this kind of stuff so this is probably a stupid question. My wife has a droid phone, will this work with that kind of phone? Thanks for the video and any help is appreciated.
for you haters saying this is "impractical", then don't use it. I see sooooo much practicality in this. most music apps for the iphone/ipad don't have a lot of real world use. yeah, okay, jam session with drums, maybe not. but coming up with ideas, PERFECT! f'n brilliant IK, well done!
alright... awesome product... the thing that I don't get is why someone would use his guitar and his iphone and go out to jam or record or whatever... it is just impractical...
@ikmultimedia Well if it is for practice then it is the only thing that makes sense and I agree! But still, for anything else though I still believe is impractical...Consider this as feedback.. I know your products because I used them in the uni when I was studying, the are awesome, and it would be such a waste to hear them through an iphone speaker. For a proper sound you still have to have a proper speaker/amp.. so if you are going to carry around a speaker get an effect that you can step on it
@Dreampanos Thanks. This is of course much better when through headphones or even a small speaker like Mr Fortus uses, of course. But for putting the iphone and iRig into your pocket, with just your guitar and headphones attached, this is the ultimate portability. Thanks again for the great feedback.
@TheAndregraz I have this Creative Travel Sound portable speaker similar size as of this.. are they have in common about the quality of sound? i need opinion from you thanks..
I'm excited for this product and sincerely hope it keeps developing. Imagine plugging your iPod touch into a house mixer and playing instead of hauling an amp around the country. However, I think the iPod / iPads will need to improve processor speed inorder to achieve tones that can be used beyond practice purposes.
It sounds surprisingly good, even out of a tiny speaker into a hand held mic. To the golden eared geniuses who parrot the moldy old mantra "but it can't replace a real amp": DUH. We get it: YOU have the good taste and cash to own an expensive tube amp. Congratulations. But have you ever heard of a "practice amp"? One as cheap and portable as a little plug hooked up to a PHONE?? Try thinking outside the box.
@xxxMrBrownstonexxx Exactly. We simply create a range of tools to suit different purposes and different musicians/artists/etc. If it is not for you? Try one of our other products or none at all. Music is very special, and we are musicians first just like the motto says.
@yt354 Have you tried it? Have you listened to albums with tracks using both amp sims and "the real thing" and pointed out exactly which is which? I understand your point (we love hardware here too, obviously - we probably have more amps in our amp room and amongst the staff than one can imagine) but if you become a little less resistant to change and give it a chance with your ears you might be surprised.
@yt354 Not at all, we're not arguing. We let the major label players like Richard Fortus and those that use our simulations on albums where you couldn't tell (I take it you are not accepting the challenge to listen through an album that uses both and point out the parts that are tube amps vs sims?) do the talking. We love hardware too, but we're proud of what was created. We're musicians first, just like our motto says and we know our products stand up to the disbelief.
If you want a real guitar sound, get a real amp and play through it. You'll never get a real guitar sound out of a friggin iPhone app. You can't emulate a Marshall stack no matter how many lines of code you write.
@yt354 Can you carry a fullsize marshall stack around in your back pocket, along with a dozen pedals? Nope. This is a great tool to carry around to jam with.
@yt354 yeah so you have enough space in your pocket to carry a Marshall around? How old are you? Do you even own a Marshall? Aside from the fact that you are missing the point, you're probably just a wannabe who's trying to sound like a "real" guitarist when any guitarist would probably be interested in all the different sounds they can get.
@yt354 what if, like me, you have a huge amp and want to take your guitar to a mates or something like that. you dont want to lug your amp about. just take your guitar and your phone and the irig. everyone has speakers in their home. plus, you can also use it as just an effects pedal to plug in to your am too x
@yt354 If I'm correct, AC/DC used Amplitube 3 on their latest studio release. Good enough for them, not for you, eh? Admittedly its not the iPhone app, but its still 'lines of code'. All the best musicians are open to experimentation.
Any idea when recordings gonna be out? Their should be like a studio add on so you can create songs in the app. The best person to put on this thing would be Eddie van halen or Joe perry. Ik should take musicians advise on add ons for the app or improvements that would be kool but so far I love the app it's zoo much better than my shitty line6
@MetalSlab We just have one of our musicians (we are musicians first, as the motto says) free-form usually. That doesn't sound like a known piece, though some are "inspired by". Thanks!
I'm really looking forward to the recording added onto the app! I bought the full 20 buck app and is the largest "investment" on an app I have ever spent. However I'm still waiting for my irig to get into guitar center. I'm hoping IK keeps upgrading this app and keeps the new touch of this app alive. ( they better for an altogether 63 dollar investment!) but hey I think they did a good job with the app and I'm not complaining yet. Oh one thing when you make the recording thing make sure you can
Really disappointed that no indication was given that a separate iPad (ie: not universal) version would follow as I would have not bought iPhone version and waited. Having said that it is an awesome practice tool, I use with headphones and find myself picking up my guitar when perhaps I wouldn't have bothered to sneak in a bit of practice.
@helmsdeep48 auto wah, have someone tilt it or tape it to your shoe for the "tilt" feature. OK last two are not as serious :) But we're looking at ways to have more hands-free control for sure. Thanks!
@ikmultimedia Foot pedal accessories would be nice... maybe a midi-control interface that lets you plug in expression pedals or tap pedals like on a keyboard?
@ikmultimedia It's cool technology, no doubt. I remember back in the day, this would have been considered alien technology. Glad to see IK keeping things fresh and innovative.

@Aerosmithrockr1 We don't have a definitive date but I've heard a little demo recording done so if that indicates anything :)

Hey I have this app and I like it - Can I ask what song the first inbuilt demo is based on?
MetalSlab 1 year ago
@MetalSlab We just have one of our musicians (we are musicians first, as the motto says) free-form usually. That doesn't sound like a known piece, though some are "inspired by". Thanks!

@ikmultimedia OKay, I like it that's all. Cheers

Dub over the recording, email, and save the song, just a suggestion

I'm really looking forward to the recording added onto the app! I bought the full 20 buck app and is the largest "investment" on an app I have ever spent. However I'm still waiting for my irig to get into guitar center. I'm hoping IK keeps upgrading this app and keeps the new touch of this app alive. ( they better for an altogether 63 dollar investment!) but hey I think they did a good job with the app and I'm not complaining yet. Oh one thing when you make the recording thing make sure you can

Can you directly record in the app?

@2705bart Soon, a recorder will be made available. Thanks!

Really disappointed that no indication was given that a separate iPad (ie: not universal) version would follow as I would have not bought iPhone version and waited. Having said that it is an awesome practice tool, I use with headphones and find myself picking up my guitar when perhaps I wouldn't have bothered to sneak in a bit of practice.

this works with a ipod touch 1g with 3.1.3 software? :)

@Jato97 The 1st generation Touch does not have a mic input so it would not work, please see our site for the exact specs/requirements. Thanks!

srsly how are you gonna wah on this?
helmsdeep48 1 year ago
@helmsdeep48 auto wah, have someone tilt it or tape it to your shoe for the "tilt" feature. OK last two are not as serious :) But we're looking at ways to have more hands-free control for sure. Thanks!

@ikmultimedia Foot pedal accessories would be nice... maybe a midi-control interface that lets you plug in expression pedals or tap pedals like on a keyboard?

@Wodey25 Thanks - iRig and AmpliTube For iPhone sure keep up, eh?
ikmultimedia 1 year ago
@ikmultimedia It's cool technology, no doubt. I remember back in the day, this would have been considered alien technology. Glad to see IK keeping things fresh and innovative.

@Wodey25 Thanks for the kind words, and yes it would have been alien technology back in the day for sure!

Amazing playing!! This guy is great! I wonder what battery operated speaker he's using?
miksilplik 1 year ago
@Biddebodd I don't know off-hand, most of the quality of sound is coming from AmpliTube For iPhone and his fingers though :)
