  • I have three states I go trough. 1. Sad. I'm sad, and I got no self-esteem at all. 2. Angry. I'm angry, and I hate the whole world. 3. Calm/happy. I feel as I "should" feel. I feel good and loving, and I can be with my friends and smile. To avoid getting sad, I get angry. To avoid getting to angry, I try to calm down. When I'm out of energy, I get sad. And then this repeats. Every time, this happens, then I fall harder to the next level. I also want answers, to how to solve depressions. Please.
  • Put on some upbeat music and clean up my house, sometimes move furniture into different places and rearrange the living space, and just generally make my living environment as pleasant as possible. If it's sunny I'll do the garden too. It's not mentally taxing but keeps me occupied just enough to avoid overthinking or slumping into the misery. The nice result cheers me up as well as giving a bit of a sense of accomplishment which is a cool bonus. Really simple but it usually works for me.

  • 1) Make a joke out of problem 2) Imagine funny elephant ears and nose to people who gave me problem - it makes me laugh 3) watch the inspirational videos and see how guy without hands and legs cheers up others and gives amazing lectures 4) I put some fun music 5) I chant some powerful Mantras as Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare hare - changes EVERYTHING!!! 6) search in i-net how to volunteer and help those who are in hospitals, elderly homes

  • HMMM probably cranking up the old songs, ODing on my lithium and ritalin, then getting really depressed, ODing on my Lovan then getting happy, doing something stupid, drinking, cutting, suicide attempts, etc, almost dying again then have a bit more to fix up the next morning. Works like a treat.

  • weirdly enough, i listen to the older, maybe 2006, songs of My Chemical Romance. Like the Black Parade and Three Cheers for something something albums. and then i feel better and watch your videos

    c.) lay down, close my eyes, put in my headphones, blast my favorite music and ignore the world

  • i been depressed for a few months now, nd the only time im ever happy is when im with my cousin becuse we have such a good time i forget evey problem in my life becuse we have so much fun and stuff, but as soon as i leave i get depressed again

  • I need spaces where I can pace back and forth.. pausing.. running etc. I listen to music and I dance. I love to take showers. Focusing on deep breathing, and sight, sound.. for even just a moment. Sometimes crying can help. Sometimes lying low for part of the day to make up for other days or nights is okay I think. I need to make art and work towards a positive future.

  • If im really upset or depressed i sit in my room and listen to sad songs that mean something to me to get the sadness out of me! i might cry a lil depending on the situation and my emotions at the time, then once i feel its mostly out of my system i turn on some of my favourite up-beat music and sing and dance around my room like no-one can hear, no-one will see me i can just let everything out and really relax, Then just think of all the positive things you have going 4 u, it helps really! =]

    Oh, one way that I get out my stress and sadness is by either sulking endlessly and by reading. Or going into a total psycopathic tantrum by listening to heavy metal. . . . Hope this works!

  • It really depends on the situation... :P

    If a girl breaks my heart in some way, I cheer up by having fun with mostly guy friends. That's not meant to be sexist, but it does help after a sad break up to do stuff with your own gender for a little whle, and forget about things. :)

    The outdoors really help me with anxiety and comedy (especially "stand-up") helps get my mind off of stressful things.

    ...and music? Music can make ANYTHING in life better... :)

    Can't talk to my mom cause she finds my problems odd and unreasonable or whatsoever.

    Can cry, so that's what I do. After I feel like nothing's left I move on.

  • when i feel like shit i try and feel worse. the only thing i want to hear is the bad. when people tell me to look on the bright-side it just pisses me off and doesn't satisfy. so i try to feel as low as possible and cry out everything. the lower you fall the higher you'll eventually bounce back.

    to cheer up, talk to a friend, get support, and please try to cut out as many of the things in your life that cause you to be depressed as you can. for me, i get depressed about money and the lack thereof. i just try to remember its not even real unless i make it be, so why bother obsessing over it.

  • Lots of ways... The most effective is exercise. Go for a run or hike or at least go out in the back yard and do some jumping jacks. I just can't stay depressed once my blood gets pumping.

    Sometimes I need relaxation though. Blow off productivity and just chill the fuck out for a day.

    Other days I need productivity... Work on my room or my art or go buy some tool I've been needing, and don't let myself rest till bedtime.

    But a good walk in the woods is my ultimate cure-all. Trees are happiness

  • When I'm depressed, sad or agitated I like to go for a run or swim some laps. When you exercise, your body releases these chemicals into your brain that make you feel good. Kind of like being high to a lesser extent. OR I like to read - getting lost in a different world through a book helps to take your mind off of things...

  • when im sad or depressed, what i do to make myself a bit happier is..i make someone else happy. if someone else is upset i foret about my self for a moment and go help them. and when they feel better ad i see that smile on their face its makes me smile. thats all i do, all of have to do is make someone else happy.

  • You know, cheering up is truly different for each individual. I used to go to the park and sit on the top of a tree staring out at the world, thinking about anything and everything until it got late. But then they chopped down the tree, and now I have no place to escape... I guess sitting here alone is the only thing I can do until I find a new place to hide from my problems.

  • i write lists of goals i want to acomplish ways to become a better person. lists of anything really once i made a bucket list for some reason it came out to be over 18 pages of what i wanted to do before i die and i like to look at that when i feel really depressed.

  • I go out to an abandoned building with paints and pour my heart out on to the biggest wall i can find.

  • I am never sad. When, however, I am enjoying life less than is normal for me, I think about what I am grateful for and act upon that gratefulness. If I know that I am grateful for my friends, I spend quality time with my friends. If I am grateful for wildlife, I observe the duckies, the geese, the squirrels, and other organisms (I also hug, kiss, and lick trees (because I would like to know what they taste like)). If I am grateful for my talents, I exercise them. Loves ya'll! Literal peace.

Also get something productive done, which is a longer lasting solution. try to deal with the root of my depression, as I perceive it. create art (this on kept me from killing myself in high school, probably, that and will power), go outside, even if I didn't feel like itI would force my self to get out and I always feel better after doing that, even for a short walk, usually with good friends is better though.

    Youtube is probably my only guide to happiness when I am at home, because then I know that even AMAZING people like you feel the same as I do.

    I also sometimes take videos of my friends and post them, because then I can laugh and smile and be happy again. (that is if I am not hanging out with them on the weekends.)

  • I make music. =) I love music, so I just make it for others to hear. Sure, I'll stab my computer screen or my bass if it doesn't turn out right at first. But as long as the end result makes someone else relax for a minute, I'm okay.

  • There are many different reasons that I've been sad, depressed, etc. I've found that physical activity, along with anti-depressants, helps a lot (NOTE: if you're on an anti-depressant and still clinically depressed, talk to your physician! In my struggle, my doc has had to increase my dosage AND stack two other anti-depressants together with my Prozac).

    In the end, we'll all be in eternity and this world will be long gone, so you may as well go out doing ( and being) something that you like a

  • when I'm sad I either draw, stare out windows, space out and think for hours, or do all of those at the same time. sometimes I don't cheer up, and I don't wanna seem weak by crying in front of anyone or anyone seeing me be upset, so I bottle it all up. and then eventually a couple days later I'll have an anxiety attack which is always super fun *sarcasm*
