  • Thanks for posting. This is the cut from the "Jazz at Newport" Festival album from the early 60s with Dave, Paul Desmond (sax), Joe Morello (drums) and Gene Wright on bass.

  • Great song--been in my head since the 60s

  • Windshield wipers

  • This joyfull piece is in my mind, since I got the album from a friend (I was a sweet sixteen then) in the 60 th's.

  • Great jazz piece. Love the Miles Davis version. It's great that Brubeck is still alive. I hope he's mobile and not wasting away in some old folk's home.

  • yeah its been in my mind all day today since i heard the gil and miles version. what a clever composition. good job dave.

  • Newport version was better, no?

    (I mean the chords)

  • Thanks a lot. It ´s been following me around too. I am playing a Dave´s piano solo arrangement nowadays. A couple of years ago I played my own arrangement. The one you´ve uploaded is really great.

  • Well , this tune has also been following me around for a long time. I had never heard it played by Brubeck though, it's beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

  • Brubeck wrote it :)

  • It is said that the first 8 bars of this go through all 12 keys. Are you familar with the version recorded at Newport in 1958? It has extended solos by Paul Desmond and Dave, in contrast to this.
