I wonder how often this dick splooge of a taxi driver gets into confrontations. He is likely to run into someone, eventually, who will put him in his place and possibly quite hard.
FWIW I've had that happen to me 3 times over the last 2 days. Each time I've been riding in primary through either traffic islands or around other cyclists. Get tooted then they pass gesturing to the left. Some drivers are just impatient wankers....
Pull out? Your line was spot on, not erratic, predicable, legal and correct. he just didn't like being held up for a few seconds and projected his frustration onto you instead of looking at his own bad attitude.
I'm sure the local licencing offise would take interest in this video. They might not take any action on this occaisson but reports like this will be kept in the driver's file and if there is a history of this then action might happen, it does in Bristol.
Fair enough really, you should just have bunny hopped that line of cars and given him a clear run - wear and tear on the steering column of taxis is not cheap, so it is totally unreasonable to expect him to steer around you.
