A Turkish song about the injustice of being like an immigrant in your own land... this is not looking down on immigrants, more perhaps talking about ethnic cleansing such as has happened in Greece, Turkey and Cyprus and continues to happen all over the world!!
The Cypriots are together:) we protest in south and northside:) Love peace, and unity between greeks, turks and Cypriots
He's a great artist but its not nice to put his political views into his facebook page and to visit Turkey.Pls. see his biography in his facebook page.: '......... Many of his concerts were dedicated to the Cyprus political problem, not only in 1974, but most notably in the late '80s and early '90s where he produced many concerts for the cause of the Cypriot people against the Turkish invasion of 1974.' What is this? then why is he in Istanbul?
@bilgebayraktar i am a greek cypriot.i am syre many turkish people dont agree to what happend in cyprus.normal turkish people i am sure just want peace and a just solution to the cyprus problem.just look at the demonstration recently by turkish cypriots also.to go there and sing is no different to a greek cypriot team going there to play football.it is for all the correct people.
@bilgebayraktar The way I see it, it was the right-wing terrorist Greek EOKA-B which committed a coup and hijacked Cyprus, killing both Greek (left-wing) and Turkish Cypriots. In response Turkey (fundamentalist party in government) invaded Cyprus and also committed crimes against humanity. Cypriots, Greeks and Turks, had always been a progressive well educated people but after 1974 both sides became more and more nationalistic and fundamentalistic. It's good they are uniting now.
@bilgebayraktar Let's also not forget Britain's part. The British tried to maintain colonial rule over Cyprus by polarizing Greeks and Turks against each other. Often they favored Turkish Cypriots (more political power) to weaken the much larger Greek Cypriot community. It is no wonder to me that when the Cypriots decided to break ties with Britain (removal British Naval Base), the Turks got the green light to invade Cyprus. They were afraid that Cyprus would become communist.
