  • Extension. That is all.

  • This level should've been in Generations. Great concept, better music. What more could you ask for?

  • One of my Favourites form this game :D

  • This track takes 1 min and 40 sec before it loops. Sonic 4 catsynth takes 30 seconds. Talk about lazy.

  • The genesis defined electronic bass, its just got so much funk they couldn't fit in sounds that are similar to instruments like the SNES, and I definitely bop to the genesis more than the SNES.

  • Sega didn't used the spin plataforms on Sonic Generations.

    :(

  • Childhood memories are coming back

  • 8bit and 16bit has some of the best soundscapes..i can't even wait to learn to make music like this.this game is a classic, i have it for the sega genesis still..i remember the debug glitch mode that let u play any level, i never beat it lol.

  • Thumbs up if you thought this was actually a good, and greatly underappreciated game.

    Cool music too.

  • what a masterpiece in 16 bit SEGA 4Ever

  • sometimes when I got stuck and I was frustrated I'd just kinda sit there and jam to the music and it made me feel so much better.

  • Favorite track in the game.

#2 Is Panic puppet Act 1 (WELL DUH)

  • Reset the Genesis (or emulator). Go into sound test. Play Track 14 (Intro), when it finishes, play Track 19 (Extra Life)

  • Cool song. It reminds me of the Japanese cartoon: Love Hina.

    Mutsumi Otohime: Keyboard player.

    Motoko Aoyama: Bass Guitar player.

    Kaolla Su: Drum Machine player.

    Mitsune Konno: Electric Guitar player.

    J.T.'s got imagination.

  • This game was fun! :)

  • played this as a kid and enjoyed it, also i remember the music being good and damn was i right.

  • 0:58 through 1:17 best part.

  • @Funkermonster hah, I was just going to comment about this very part of the song. makes me zone out..no pun intended :P

  • When I play this on my Wii I always get to lazy and never pass this zone

  • 1:16 to 1:42 best part of the song.

  • Suddenly had this song in my head, even though I haven't played this game in probably about 8 years. Thank you, YouTube! And thank you sonicKAI for uploading this.

  • please extend this :D

  • I forgot how awesome the music was on the Megadrive version! :D... I'm a little too use to the Saturn and PC versions. :)

  • Sounds awesome. Very fitting for some lost ruins.

  • @GigaGabo One of my views between the Genesis & Saturn versions of Rusty Ruin.

    Genesis should play in daylight.

    Saturn should play at night.

  • @SyntaxMagenta I agree.

Genesis: Played in daylight but covered up by tall canyon walls on both sides.

Saturn: Played at night and lit up only by the moonlight.

  • sega are music geniuses, gotta give it to them

  • @nham666 Sega were only the game publishers, this was actually made by Traveller's Tales

  • Knuckles would go hard with this song.

  • When searching "Sonic 3D Blast music", *this song* is the first one to come up. JOY!

  • is it me, or does that red flicky look BADASS xD

  • This game pissed me off, but was so fun to play ahaha. This song also reminds me of Jazz Jack Rabbit a bit. Anyone remember that game?

  • @nicholasboiboi i had that on my old (emphasis on old) computer. I still remember it. i'm surprised.

  • @nicholasboiboi

jack rabbit yeah that game was a trip horrible camera angle and controls lol

  • @nicholasboiboi I do. Jazz Jackrabbit is one of the best games I've played on PC and the 2nd is easily the best platformer for PC of ALL TIME.

    'twas awesome.

  • generations. NOW.

  • NIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!

  • What print said. In sa2, I loved me some sonic stages & would cringe when having to play an annoyingly sonic-obsessed queer fox in a transforming robot gun plane car PoS or continually saying 'rats' while diggin thru pumpkin graveyard walls. Seriously, i only played tails & knux stages so i could (anxiously) get to the thrilling sonic stages with adrenaline-pumping speedy grinding goodness~

  • What is the difference of Sonic 3D Blast and Flickeys Island???

  • @Tuano55 nothing. It's just an alias.

  • @Tuano55 Sonic 3D Blast was the name of the game in America and Flickies Island was the name of the game in Europe. Nothing ingame is different except the art box.

  • Kind of reminds me of Marble Garden from Sonic 3.

  • Surely the defining element of the Adventure series was each character having their own playstyle and levels. Heroes was team-based and everyone played the same, every other game since, except Sonic '06, just has Sonic with some guest sections.

And Sonic '06 is an excluded since it's fuckin terrible...

  • @Pirochiro The problem with having multiple characters to play as is that the gameplay of the other characters isn't always that great. Take Sonic Adventure, for example. Some of the characters, such as Sonic and Tails, are great to play as, but other characters, such as Amy and Big, were slow and tedious (who the hell thought that fishing in a Sonic game was a good idea?). I'm not opposed to having other characters to play as. Their gameplay just needs to be up to par with the main characters.

  • @Pirochiro Having grown up on the Genesis games, I see no reason for there to ever be a playable character in a Sonic game whose main characteristic isn't "runs really fast." Some of the biggest problems with Adventure, Adventure 2, 06 and Unleashed were that they forced me to play as characters who did things other than run really fast.

I have no problem with variety in a platform game, but I don't play "Sonic the Hedgehog" to dig for treasure or shoot things.

  • You guys are faggots :p there is no sa3, just being 3d doesnt make it a contender. Ill accept a sonic game as sa3 when it revives the chao garden.

  • @AssassinJordi: I hate to break it to you but sonic heroes was SA3, Plotwise.

  • Sonic Adventure 3 = Sonic Unleashed.

    Fact.

  • @KennethMoreland Lies*

  • @KennethMoreland

Remember sonic adventures has you playing as multiple characters

  • @KennethMoreland One problem.

The Sonic Adventure games are good.

  • @KennethMoreland BULLSHIT.Fucking Sonic 06 was more Adventure-ish than Unleashed.

  • this sound kicking my ass again !!

  • HAHAHAH, This song WOULD be the first song to come up when you type in sonic 3d blast music. It sounds just like what YOU all want to hear. but you don't even give the rest of the music a chance. HAHAHaaaaa, close-minded cliche-liking kids.

  • The code to make him warp fast: B,A,RIGHT,A,C,UP,DOWN,A.start when the menu shows the "Press Start"

  • most underrated game soundtrack ever

  • @rodrigopacheco12 Most underrated Sonic soundtrack? hell yes! But there are other soundtracks that only a few people like, that I think are in the best of the bunch.

  • @rodrigopacheco12 So good that 8BitDanooct1 is covering it in FamiTracker

  • @rodrigopacheco12 SOOOO FREAKING TRUE.

  • @rodrigopacheco12 agreed

  • Great drums

  • This music has great rythme rock on!!!!!

  • @TheBridge117 You got that right dude!

  • @nicholascooney Wow,to give this game a 9000/5 it must be your first try on the series.Try playing Sonic 1,2 or 3.

  • I am favor the Saturn version more, but this is actually pretty good!

  • omg....epicness....

  • @nicholascooney rock on dude. rock on

  • this was remixed in sonic heroes. event 11.

  • i actually like this game not just for its music but for its gameplay but it still has a kick ass soundtrack

  • @Scouter9001

Despite the slow pace, the level layouts were pretty fun. My personal favs being a tossup between this, Volcanic Valley, and Panic Puppet. I'm probably going to be playing this when I go to have my next video upload. Fun time killer.

  • Amazing soundtrack... for an amazing game.

...what? I really did enjoy Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island! =P

You know, it would be pretty cool to have Saturn games on Virtual Console (since I never played the Saturn version of Sonic 3D & I'm interested in NiGHTS).

  • @HyperShan3

Saturn games do need to be available on the newer systems in general. I've played some of them and they were awesome. Sucks I couldn't get my own. On that subject, VC could also use some 32X and Sega CD games. I don't care if those addons were an abomination, they had a few great games. Hell, I will always say that Kolibri on the 32X is one of the most visually impressive games ever.

  • @laughingfurry

The wii could not hold the memory of a sega cd game, it uses up a LOT of blocks, because its CD based, maybe 32x games, because their cartridges

  • @jimmykid55

Actually, early CD games didn't hold as much data as current CDs. Also, alot of modern CD run games use better management of data. If modern concepts of data management are applied to a Sega CD game, it's unlikely to exceed the number of blocks of an N64 download. Hell, I'm sure that the Sega CD version of Ecco Tides of Time would be no more than 50 extra blocks. Mostly for the cinematics.

  • @laughingfurry And besides, if you don't have at least a 2Gb SD card permanently stuck in your Wii to download games onto, then you're too poor to be buying too much on the Virtual Console anway :P

  • @agwellin

Not really. When it comes to the old school titles, 20 dollars can get you at least two games. Though, an SD card of at least 2Gb is necessary, since the Wii's internal memory is limited. I've learned that when I started getting the RPGs I normally borrowed from other people. Speaking of which, I hope that Terranigma comes to the Virtual Console. That RPG looks so freaking awesome.

  • @laughingfurry

i guess so, but its just a matter of SEGA asking permission to nintendo and nintendo approving it

  • @jimmykid55 All games that exceede the size limit will be compressed the Wii's Internal Memory is only 512mb so storage memory half is tooken up by system files leaving around 250mb of user storage if the Wii used HDDs like the 360 and PS3 then Memory for Virtual Console sega CD games would need to be recoded to either read the Mp3s from the area where the .dol file is or install and read the .Mp3s from the .dol without this you would only hear the .PCM music(past timelime) and sounds effects.

  • great bass

  • Love the bass in this one

  • for a game that was kinda bad it still had some bad ass tunes

  • Richard Jacques pales in comparison.

  • @afrojayjay Yep. The Mega Drive soundtrack suits the game much more than the Saturn version, which is too "epic" and emotional-sounding and doesn't sit right with the whole Sonic idea. It was too chilled, Sonic music should get you pumped!!

  • @jx866:

Agreed. The orchestral tracks just seemed out of place.

  • @afrojayjay

    People who compare are pale.

  • I could listen to this in the music room for a whole hour!

  • Truly superior over Act 2.

  • on of the most underrated soundtracks ever! period

  • The Sonic 3D Blast music soundtracks were entirely different for several reasons. First, the Saturn/ PC could program and hold many different sounds, so they had more of a musical selection to choose from. That resulted in the diverse sometimes symphonic sounds from the Sonic 3D Blast Saturn/PC soundtrack. The Genesis, however, like all 1st generation consoles, were not that advanced to the point were they go play sounds more modern and unique. So, that had to make a computerized soundtrack.

  • @SoPhresh007 Genesis =/= first generation in console game systems.

  • @SoPhresh007 Genesis along with SNES were 2nd generation consoles. NES and the MasterSystem were the first generation consoles

  • @HopesfallTSY What are you talking about? The Mega Drive (Genesis in the US) & SNES are 4th generation consoles, while the Master System & NES are 3rd generation consoles.

  • Worst game, best soundtrack.

  • @Kousaburo So true. I hated the isometricness of this game. But something about the old school MIDI type sounds in all the Sonic 3D Blast songs were amazing.

  • @Kousaburo - I lol'ed. You're totally right, the game wasn't really very fun, but the music kept me going.

  • i love this song ^^

It made ne remember the OLDA days,

But children MUST play this kinda videogames...

cause, they are all excited with PS3, XBOX 360

    Well, SUCK IT!!

Sega, NES, and SNES were the best consoles EVER

  • That Snare (Drums) makes me wanna punch somebody. SO DAMN AWESOME; Bass Kicks Ass. Sonic 3 & Knuckles have those same special drums that I love.

  • @Dooke80 I agree, they're greatly thought up for being video game soundtracks.

  • Comment removed

  • @Dooke80

i love the other drums that sonic 1 and 2 (many other games also) used

the snare in them was pretty epic gave the game that 16bit feel

  • If they're every gonna make SA3, it needs a remix of this.

  • @AssassinJordi They are, next year.

  • okay, it´s awesome. Jun Senoue i´ts great musican

  • Oh I remember now, Sonic megamix.

Part of the asong sounds like it is from Rister .

  • Where have I heard this before (Is very serious).

  • i like from 00:00 to 00:16 =D

  • This game might have been really unusual, and a lot of people didn't like it. But NO ONE can argue about the music, it is undoubtedly AWESOME.

  • OMG THAT BASS

  • 16 bit music rocks

  • love this game and its music

  • @poinl900 me too,

wish they could make a amv with videogame music I can almost hear it luckily

  • EXTENSION IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SuPeRsOnIc363541:

An extension was made 6th of April 2009.

  • @SuPeRsOnIc363541 isnt 5 mins long enough? jesus

  • I remember discovering you could put the Saturn CD in a CD player and listen to the music from each of the levels on it :O

  • @hammondtr Probably because it was a CD Format. I'm pretty sure you can put an ISO on a blank CD and play it on a Saturn.

  • For some reason,as a kid this song epitomized what Sonic was all about. I remember playing this game for the first time after it's release and being totally in love with the awesome music. Thanks for posting this.

  • Graphics 10

    Gameplay 4

    Lifespan 5

    Sound 11!

    (Out of 10...)

  • Why does such a bad game have such fantastic music??

  • @sacredskullkid what??????

    that game was awsome

  • @sacredskullkid now that music tempo sounded like this

    on youtube. com/watch?v=S2enCV5MFZ8

  • Just played this last night.

  • @COUCHNUMBER Me to! I beat it yesterday night.

  • Favorite level. Ever.

  • I hate it when a youtube video of a pretty sweet song gets flooded with flamewars over Sonic of all things. Aren't there better things to argue about, in better places?

  • Knuckles is mad at me because I was dancing (twirling) like a girl (ballerina).

  • the Saturn version of this song is way better

  • @TechnoDevotee This is the only song i agree with that one

  • This is my FAVORITE song in Sonic 3D!!! Love it!!!

  • This is not the music from the Saturn version!! The Saturn version is way better....

  • Sonic 3D Blast is underrated. Sucks compared to the original frilogy. But it is a fun game with good music and awesome bosses. It would be great if it weren't for the lack of save function and those damn flickies.

  • If I use that twirley round thingy then hit that pillar thingy then go through that special tunnel thingy I sould be able to get to that special stage.... thingy.

  • NEED...MORE...OF...IT!

  • Umm.....I'm just gonna hope that the three morons that thumbed this video down accidentally missed the "thumb up" switch. >:(

  • @JSlayer108 Ha Ha Haaaaaaaa. I love this stage music.

  • This game has one of my favorite sonic soundtracks of all time.

  • this theme makes meh think of sneaking around somewhere and being caught and then getting sneaky again :D

  • This my favourite music in the game. It's like "We gotta get goin before somethin happens" *sneaking* *gets vaught* *excitement picks back up again!*

  • I like this theme a whole lot better than The Saturn version

  • @twilitetails I don't know, I love the Saturn version too.

  • @MysticRixel sure the saturn version is ok, but In my opinion, the genesis version is on top c:

  • cool song i like Sonic 3D blast!!!

  • Damn I was really young when I played this game!! Time to plug in the genesis and play somethin!

  • this tune is great there,s alot of tempo and 1,29- 130 even feels as a mix of playing difficuilt nes and genesis games.

  • is it me, or did this game have some of the most kick ass sonic music

  • @supersonicracer40 I think the majority of the Sonic community would have to agree with you on that point. =)

  • Comment removed

  • much bettter! kicks ass over the saturn version ;)

  • I like the part at 1:17. :)

  • I dont understand how the soundtrack for Sonic 4 can suck so much when the guy who did it is the same guy who composed Sonic 3D Blast.

  • @MajBlood It's probably just whiny fans who want everything to be "perfect".

I think Sonic 4's tracks will own. :)

  • @Flint2007 Nah bro all of the Sonic 4 tracks were leaked not long ago. I listen to every one. Most are crap or decent at best. The track for Mad Gear Zone for example is up to par with the Genesis games. I hope they take out some of the bad ones for the final copy. Most upsetting though is the boss theme, very cartoony.

  • @MajBlood Well, for the most part, I probably won't be caring about the music in Sonic 4, mainly because I will be listening to my own music, anyways.

Let's just hope the gameplay will be great, which I know it will. :)

  • @Flint2007 The gameplay looks to be crap as well but the game is still in its early stages and Sega can fix it. I am disappointed though that you are one of those mungheads who listens to his Eninem rap and Rob Zombie while playing Shitbox 360.

  • @MajBlood ...I don't know what you talking about on the last part of your sentence, but I'mma take my leave... >_>

  • @Flint2007 I am sure you understood but it has been nice chatting with you friend. Hope you enjoy Sonic 4!

  • Hello it's fine music and beautiful and sweet

  • this tune always reminds me of those green crocodile badniks in Rusty Ruin zone who look like they're dancing to this beat! Awesome track, one of my favourites from S3D =)

  • the game and the soundtrack are just amazing

  • i think i'm having a hangover from the nostalgia. I'm taking the blue pill next time dammit!

  • Oh god i hated that trampoline part... imagine a 7 year old trying to pass it... i was always failing the spot (mainly due to the hard controls). Also there was a part in this area where you needed to jump to a moving platform, but it was so hard getting it right... i fell most of the times and needed to start over, meaning i had to go back and do that part all over again..
