@RobsFavVids That's what I've always wondered. Why, as a gay man, would you want to join the military? Even now that DADT is dead it can't be easy. Being in the military can't be easy. I had a cousin (not gay) join several years ago. He did it so that he could travel and get an education. Still...I think it would be 100x harder being gay.

Thanks Randy. Having served in the Army from 87-95, it was the most incredible time in my life. Having to hide my orientation, the worst time of my life. I left the military in 95, just as the dogs were barking at me. I preferred to exit honorably, before being investigated. I am thrilled that soldiers (like you) are free to serve openly. You have my utmost respect.

A tremendous gift you could give to young gay American men, out and closeted alike, would be an on-camera interview with an older gay man who suffered through pre-Stonewall American homophobia. This will truly facilitate an understanding of what it means to be out and free as a gay man today. Those older guys really, really suffered big time.

You were featured on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, many local news channels across the country, and several various websites and famous LGBTQQI blogs like Out.com, Perez Hilton, and Towleroad. Did you follow all the exposure?
I was wondering how you knew it was time to come out to your friends and family? I live away from my family (I guess like you when you were posted) but for University. Don't travel back much cause it's at the other end of the world. But I hate having the awkward conversations with them when I say I had dinner at this girl's house, I know their thinking along the lines of a relationship. They are super religious too. Which makes it harder. Did it ever feel right for you or did you just do it?

Ie if you found other YouTube content/users helpful and I mean the type of things that you found helpful and supportive. Now with benefit of hindsight, what was most helpful, was there any advice that might have held you back. Was there other sources of help, info, support that helped? Online or IRL. That kind of thing.

Also, his mind games were pretty much he would unfriend me if I came out. Because I would look bad on him, and he would lose his strait friends and connections if i came out. I only fell for him cause he was more than what my own family was growing up, and he took advantage of that. He knew i would be clean if only played around with him.

I'd like to know what your conversations were like with friends and coworkers after telling them you were gay. After I've told coworkers I was gay, I seem to be selfconscions about being out of the closet. It was very cute your voice went high at the 1:01, Made my nite. :)) I've been in the closet for 25 years, because of mind games my in the closet gay relationship with a childhood friend at 12 years old. His games went on for 20 years because of my lack of knowing what a relationship was at 12

I was wondering how you knew it was time to come out to your friends and family? I live away from my family (I guess like you when you were posted) but for University. Don't travel back much cause it's at the other end of the world. But I hate having the awkward conversations with them when I say I had dinner at this girl's house, I know their thinking along the lines of a relationship. They are super religious too. Which makes it harder. Did it ever feel right for you or did you just do it?

1) What do you say to someone who is homophobic? For instance, they try to avoid you or they look creeped out? Do you try to convince him/her that being gay doesn't mean that you're....I don't know attracted to everyone and that being gay is a natural thing? (hope that made sense)

I know you talked about this a bit already, but maybe touch more on what helped you come out? Ie if you found other YouTube content/users helpful and I mean the type of things that you found helpful and supportive. Now with benefit of hindsight, what was most helpful, was there any advice that might have held you back. Was there other sources of help, info, support that helped? Online or IRL. That kind of thing.
The things people would like to hear more about who are not out yet.
