CONTD: It was great conversing with them evenings at Gasthaus #1 just outside of Illesheim's main gate and seeing WWII from another point of view. I just retired from US Civil Service (Army) from Grafenwoehr, DU.
Contd: Again it was great working with and associating with a younger generation of dedicated German military folks from the Bundswehr. Sadly, most of the WWII crowd has passed on leaving very few left these days. However all of my time in Germany was well enjoyed and well worth it. pilotsnj
This "Morning March" is the greatest. All the sounds, acoustics and video manifestations are AAA perfect. I spent much time in Germany with the US Army circa 1965 in Illesheim Army Airfield. At that time, the airfield was under new construction and all the workers were German Wehrmacht veterans representing nearly all ranks from enlisted to company grade officers.
